Poor service. Ask for bread , not enough for party of six , ask again, wait. Male server never smiled, gave his name nor described any specials (if existing),  The bar  doesn't offer or make a Bloody Mary.! Half the six oysters would have been rejected by most places as being too small. The $18 fried chicken was overcooked and the other dinner portions were overpriced and under portioned. While the tables were largely vacant the bar was busy, looked like it is a pick up place not a dining place.

Cheap drinks and free popcorn.  Dartboards and even some live music.  I go every week to watch Man vs. Food and have a 2.50 PBR.

Been going to this place for over 10 years and I have seen it evolve as time went by. I have seen it relocate, change owners, change atmosphere and change its dynamic.  This bar has been through a lot and it is still my favorite local watering hole!  I love the bartenders, I love the regulars and I (mostly) love the music!  The new owners are really shaking things up by having something new and fun almost every night of the week!  The bands are great on Saturday night, though I think the space is a touch too small to get the full appreciation of the music.  Wednesday night Jazz night is great and who does not love a little karaoke?

Love this Bar!!  Mason ars and all ;)

Love this place! Born and raised in Petaluma. I head down as much as possible. Always run into someone I went to school with. Dj on Fridays, Live band on Sat, Open mic on sun, Blues on wed and you can even play with the band, karokee on thurs. Great bartenders and people to watch. Theres even talk of expanding. Hopefully soon!

A mecca for awesomeness. Or a recipe for disaster. Just depends on your take.

In the couple hours I spent here I:
    -drank delicious cheap beer
    -chatted up strangers about baseball
-played a rousing game of bar truth or dare
-requested and heard a ton of my favourite hit songs
-danced with far too many old men
-had the people-watching event of a lifetime
-was invited to go home with a couple

Yeah. I really don't think anything else I would attempt to say could sum it up more perfectly.

    Just go.

I have lived in Petaluma my whole life and had never stopped by until last night. After a night of rehearsal a few of us decided to go check out their karaoke and have a few drinks.
It really is the perfect dive bar. It has that old school divy feel (which I love by the way) but its clean, does not smell like puke (like most dives do) the bathroom was very tidy and modern, the folks were friendly and completely welcoming. The only dive thing that they were missing (that I always strangely enjoy) are the dead animals from the 1950's.
The bartender was a total sweetheart and she pours a mean drink. The prices are also the best I have found in Sonoma County (they have Jameson's for under $5) I think I just found my new "local"

This is the quintessential neighborhood dive bar. The new owners are really trying to bring in a younger crowd with a lot more events & drink specials. Definitely worth a stop, if you live close by...

Don't get me wrong: I'm NOT a bar-fly, but I AM a Karaoke junkie. Thursday nights at The First Edition are the highlight of my week! The atmosphere is pleasant enough - not your upscale, trendy kind of  pick-up bar (though I couldn't speak for any other night of the week)... Thursday draws a mixed crowd of people coming to sing, and some that just want to participate as audience members.

The sound system is awesome, and the DJ/KJ (George) doesn't play favorites (forget about throwing money his way to get ahead of everyone else in line!). His song selection is in the 100,000+ range, so no worries about whether or not he has a song - just ask, chances are he's got it! He knows his stuff and makes certain that everyone gets a chance to sing, even if they happen to come in late.
