First Street Draught House

I've only been here for the booze, not the food, and I only go once every two years when I visit my family (I'm a west-coaster) but my beers have always been cold and crisp, the selection is great, and I've made some fine memories here. Like my little sister's 21st birthday way back in 2002... SHE doesn't remember that night, but I sure do, and I have the pictures to prove it happened!

I had high hopes - the place looked fun.  Unfortunately my shrimp po'boy was sloppy - the bartender commented "the shrimp usually aren't this fluffy, good luck eating that."

When he saw my ID was from CA, and I confirmed that I'm from San Francisco he told me he "felt the need to drop a gay joke."  He proceeded to give me his best feminine voice and said something about fire....?  

Dull mind to match a dull sandwich.

I've always loved going here for a drink. In the fall, the Cottonwood pumpkin ale is my favorite drink and I've only had it here. This time, I came here for lunch with a friend when I was in town. We both ordered burgers (mid-rare and medium respectively) and they both came out medium well-well. That was slightly upsetting but I was actually amazed at how well it tasted. The side of pasta was covered in pesto and it was disgusting. I normally love pesto but this one was missing something. I had several glasses of Malbec and my friend had Chardonnay (I know, she ordered it before she knew she was ordering a burger). The wine selection is extensive as is there beers on tap. I'm always amazed at their drink selection and I urge anyone in Winston-Salem to go there for beer out of the ordinary Bud Light and Miller Light.
