Very disappointed with my first visit to Fitzgerald's Seafood Restaurant.  I ordered fried oysters and found them not moist (not fresh?) or sweet tasting and the batter was tasteless.  Probably will not return.  Very sorry about this.

Went here for dinner and being from the NorthEast wasn't really expecting much.  Finding flounder on the menu was a real treat and it was fried right and very tasty.  One of my sides was New England clam chowder and it was delish and loaded with clams.  The only down side was the potato salad and it wasn't to my taste but that's more of a personal thing with me.  I'm very pleased with this new restaurant.  The help was pleasant and efficient and I will definitely be returning.

This place is along the lines of Mayflowers Seafood.  The entrees were decent in size and taste but I think what upset me the most was A) the only vegetable they serve is "canned" green beans, and B) the salad bar. You are supposed to get two side dishes with your entree and of course a dinner salad is listed, but if you chose the dinner salad it's an additional $1.99 for one trip to the salad bar, or $5.99 for all you can eat salad  This salad bar is not of a high caliber at all. We are talking just the basic stuff.  When you get up to the salad bar you fidn out that  size of bowl you get to make your one trip salad, it is the size of a very small cup of soup.  Seriously!  I could get teeny bit of lettuce, one cucumber, one tomato, one crouton. I mean it's laughable.   I love grilled fish, scallops, etc.  Sometimes you are not looking to go upscale, but there are better places around town, with food just as good if not better thank Fitzgeralds Seafood that serve vegetables (green and fresh ones that is) and with a better one trip salad for the same price.  There is absolutely no motiviation for me to go back ever.  I'd rather go to Captain Stanley's on Falls of the Neuse and although I am not a fan of Red Lobster, you can eat there for the same price, and get your nice salad and your biscuit.  I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!
