I've always been a fan of Fody's for late night drinks but my experience last night was one of the worst dining out experiences that I have ever had. My two friends and I arrived at Fody's around 7pm to grab some dinner and drinks. We had been going to Fody's for years and were excited to revisit one our favorite downtown places. It was pretty busy when we arrived but the hostess sat us at some chairs located by the fireplace. She said it would be a few minutes for the waiter to get us our drink order and brought us bread while we waited. We were chatting and looking over the menu and getting antsy at waiting so long. We were trying to flag down a waiter but no one was coming over. After 15 minutes we grabbed the hostess and asked if someone was coming over to take our order. She assured us that she would send someone right over so we sat back down. Another 10 minutes passes and she comes over and offers us a table instead of the chairs we were sitting in so we moved over. A few minutes later we saw a waiter coming around to the other tables so we thought that we were in the clear now. We were wrong. The waiter looked at our table and then walked away. At that point we grabbed our stuff and headed out. We saw other tables getting service all around us and whenever we tried to get a waiters attention we were completely ignored. We left feeling very upset with Fody's and went to another downtown restaurant and were served right away. We don't plan on coming back to Fody's anytime in the near feature. Your staff was rude and did not care about their customers.
Review Source:Went to a fundraiser there tonight. Had dinner. It took the waiter 25 minutes to come to the table. He took our order and told us there was no bread cause the kitchen was to busy but 3 tables that came in after us got  a fresh basket of bread. Food finally came and we asked for cheese for the pasta. We never got any. He never came back to see how our meal was and never returned for more drinks we had to go to the bar ourselves and get them. When I asked for the check it took another 15 minutes and when he brought it he never said anything just dropped the check down on the table. I have to say the food was good but I would not return because of the terrible service. One more thing the bar was not very busy and we waited 10 minutes and was never acknowledged but others who came after us were taken care of. Worst service I have ever had and we eat out a lot . I give the food a 4 and the service a 1.
Review Source:With a better wine list I'd give this place 5 stars. Have been here about half a dozen times now and its one of my favorite Nashua haunts when I'm in town. The beautiful colonial building speaks for itself. Re the alleged rudeness of staff, I have never ever noticed this...just classic smart-ass wise cracks that are a familiar part of the New England character to anyone who grew up in this region (as I did). Each time our server has been awesome...funny and efficient.
When in New England, go for either comfort food, or the creative stuff if you are in the right restaurant. I went for an old old classic, chicken pie. I have to say it was easily among the top 2-3 best chicken pies I've had. The crust was flaky, buttery, and light as a feather so as not to overwhelm the dish. The chicken was in large moist chunks of mostly white meat. The sauce and vegetables were just perfect. And it was blistering hot. The house salad of mixed greens is one of the largest I have seen here.
Bathrooms it must be said could use a little work in keeping ship shape. But this place doubles as a music venue for indie bands, so I get that. Â Some good regional beers on tap, which is what you want as New England out-does any other part of the country when it comes to winter/holiday beers.
