I went here with a friend at lunch time on a Friday and we were the only ones in the restaurant which alarmed me at first. I was excited to find Dobin Mushi soup on the menu as this is not something you find at many Japanese restaurants.. It is prepared and served in a small cast iron kettle, and you usually pour the broth into a little cup, ad a squirt of lime and enjoy.. However the waitress did not understand how to server this and I received a tea kettle of soup with a Chinese soup spoon (which does not fit in the kettle even if you wanted to eat it that way). I ordered a variety of sushi and my friend had a couple items as well. The food was okay, It was nothing special just basic sushi and their selection of special rolls left you wanting. But the sashimi that I ordered was fresh and tasty. The prices here seem a bit higher than normal for sushi but overall it was a decent meal and I would definitely go again.
Review Source:Our experience here was that Fuji is "casual" sushi.
It gets busy really fast on the weekends.
The dining area is a little but lacking; Â they could benefit from getting new furniture.
The bar is super long and is really popular...the stools are comfy.
The sushi (and its price) definitely make up for the odd ambience.
There are always yummy special rolls, and the fried calamari is tasty too.
The service was attentive and polite. Â However, the waitress didn't tell us which roll was which, but being experienced sushi diners, I didn't mind.
I'll be back for sure.
After a very poor experience here two years ago, I came here with my friends. Â The food was delicious! Â I was very happy with the portions and price. Â I wasn't even that hungry and I ended up ordering the vegetable tempura after sampling my friends. Â The Ikura (salmon roe) was awesome. Â My friend ordered a specialty roll (I forget what) and it was excellent. Â
The waitress was barely there though. Â We were there for about two and a half hours. Â She didn't refill drinks and when I wanted to order an additional item, I had to wait 45 minutes. Â She kept walking by and ignoring me to take care of a larger table. Â We waited about a half hour to get the check and 45 minutes for her to process the payments. Â It got to be really ridiculous.
