Fun place to watch the boats go by at the Marina. Great outdoor seating. This time we sat inside and had a very friendly server.  Will go back for sure!

The bar ingredients and selection is stuck in the 80's.  Can we get some fresh juices, mixers and quality booze?  We would pay for it!!

Came here by boat on Fathers Fay. Great service, food was good, although they didn't have any anchovies for the pizza. .?  The music was a little too loud to be able to hear each other at the table, but it still was a fun experience.

Since I wrote my previous review over a year ago I thought it was time for an update. I have continued to visit Garlic Brothers on an almost weekly basis and I am happy to say that the service has definitely improved and become more consistent! There are a few new waitresses there who are very friendly and efficient. Bravo!

The owners and food are excellent and they have a variety of great specials each week. We still love half price pizza and happy hour on Tuesdays the most but we wish the grilled oysters still counted for the happy hour price. I can definitely understand why they don't though!

The view of the delta is beautiful, especially right at sunset. The food is good, I got the surf n turf, the rib-eye was sooo tender. They also have a full bar, the mai tai is especially good. Oh, and they have a lot of cute waitresses :). Great for singles or couples.

Came here for my 21st Birthday, to enjoy a nice dinner with the family. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the delta and the boats passing by. It was faily windy and sunny, thank god we had our sunglasses/ It was fairly busy, but our waitress was very attentive. I think she was the only one in uniform, the other girls were in street clothes. The food was amazing I absolutely loved the calamari and the garlic fries, and my chicken and garlic mashed potatoes were heavenly. As for my drink, I ordered the Delta punch and was not a fan at all, there was waaaaay to much basil and mint, but the margarita I ordered after definitely made up for it. Overall it was a good experience, I would be back.

I hate it when I have a business trip to Stockton. Let's be honest ... the Stockton chamber of commerce is trying so hard to market its city as a business/tourist destination but anyone who has spent any amount of time in Stockton knows that it is probably not a city anyone would ever visit for fun, or without a bulletproof vest.

The one little corner of Stockton I actually don't mind (besides the waterfront near U of Pacific) is the marina, which is how I found Garlic Brothers.

Located in the marina with a wonderful outdoor view of 'the Delta' ... this is probably your best bet for a good meal with good atmosphere in Stockton. There is a wonderful river with an outdoor deck and umbrella shaded tables.

I've noticed a lot of yelp hate on the food which surprises me because I am usually as picky as they come and I love the food here.

If I was on one of those Food Network shows where I had to pick the best things I've ever eaten ... Garlic Fries from Garlic Brothers would be on my list. These are seriously the most addictive things ever! They are crisp french fries tossed in a buttery garlic sauce with what seems like cloves and cloves of garlic crushed on top. Not a first date food for sure, but so unbelievably tasty!

I had the gumbo the last time I went because it was on special and it was very spicey. Much spicier than many people would probably like ... but if there is one thing you won't find at Garlic Brothers (good or bad) it is bland food.

On a picture perfect day with blue skies ... sitting outside on the deck and having a few beers and a nice lunch doesn't get any better. I haven't ordered a bad thing off the menu yet.

I'm not in Stockton often for business (thankfully) but when I am believe it or not, I actually look forward to going just so I can have some of their Garlic fries.

Check your bill...especially during happy hour!!  They tried to charge me $3 for a $5 appetizer that was $3 off today!  haha

About all I can say, happy hour is where it's at.  I am GLAD that I did not have to pay full  price for my food items today.  Wouldn't have been worth it.

I ordered the artichoke appetizer to start with
    <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/garlic-brothers-stockton?select=bPiZXtypUMNUsuglkjyTyg#H9-sPicAywisfdIIlihtWw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
...normally $5, happy hour $2.  And that was
all it was worth.  It was meh for sure.   Better dip at Costco...

Half off pizza today.  I ordered the Delta Grass pizza
    <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/garlic-brothers-stockton?select=bPiZXtypUMNUsuglkjyTyg#mLMPGmxC-iRnINR-f4fhVw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
...$7.50 during happy hour.   It was unexciting and uneventful.
I would have been very disappointed if I had to pay the full price for it.

    Great view  <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/garlic-brothers-stockton?select=bPiZXtypUMNUsuglkjyTyg#ZowlzpuS4X9vk5OSWppmrg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
I might go back...during happy hour...to try other items.

    Hate to do this-

But after over ten bad experiences in a row, I have to be honest.

I loved Garlic Brothers.  I really did.  But I think it was because I typically sat at the bar.  If you're at the bar, it's pretty hard to go unnoticed.

At a table?  Well that's a different story.  I think there is an invisible forcefield on the deck.  Really.  I've had several waiters and waitresses walk past me multiple times.

I think waiting 25 minutes without even getting a glass a water was my tipping point.

Pretty lame.  I think there are about 2 staff workers that are frantically working- actually doing their job.  The rest... I don't know.

    Boo.

We recently held a wedding reception for our daughter and son-in-law at Garlic Brothers and they did an AWESOME job!  We worked with Rodney to coordinate the event and he was very professional and accomodating.  The wait staff were on-it!  They were very friendly, quick to provide the food, drink, toasting wines and clearing tables.  We've always enjoyed the food at Garlic Brothers and it was nice to hear so many positive comments from the wedding guests about how delicious the food was and excellent service - we couldn't agree more!  Great food, excellent service and every table had a view of the water -  Awesome!

Good food, but I think the atmosphere is what impresses me. Date night,  it's perfect on the water. Service is slow and the wait staff dress too casual.

Terrible! Waited 35 minutes to be acknowledged. My family of 6 finally got up to leave. The server then promised they would tend to us. Against my better judgement, we decide to give them a second chance. We waited another 10
Minutes before the waiter brought water and spilled two glasses of ice cold water all over me. My lap. My chest. Everywhere.  No one did a thing. We got up to leave. No one said a word. I called the manager when I got in the car and got a half-a** apology. I'll never go again!

The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars, is for the view of the Delta. The food was horrible!!! I ordered the calamari as an appetizer, the tartar sauce that came with it tasted as though it had been sitting in the fridge for a week. Sent it back and when I got the new one it looked as though it was the same one just REMIXED  because it tasted the same. I ordered the Garlic Steak (medium rare). Half, the steak was not rare it was RAW!!! Didn't eat the raw half at this point I just wanted to get out of here so I didn't say anything. The place looked run down, service was ok. Not a place I would recommend.

Had dinner with my family party of 5.(Monday, entrees are $12 tonight. Reason why we decided to go here)
Pretty busy for Monday night, ordered:
    Appetizer-calamari
    Drink-Arnold Palmer
Entree-Garlic steak with steamed vegetables and polenta. (Also tasted my husband's grilled salmon)
    Dessert- Banana bread pudding
First we had a HAIR in our calamari and had to send it back, steak was mediocre barley any flavoring, salmon was over cooked, veggies bland, but polenta was tasty, and dessert was good. My son had child's pizza which was burnt edges and blah in flavor (really, how can you get a pizza wrong??!!!)
Kids were dissatisfied and even my non- picky husband was saying he will never be back.
Service was ok, waitress seemed very busy, I felt like she kept trying to give us our check to get us out of there...so she didn't have to come back and bother.
I wouldn't recommend this place at all, the only reason I wasn't pissed was because we only paid $12 for the entree, I would never ever consider paying full price for that food.
Garlic brothers gets 2.5 stars only because I had a lot worse, i mean the food wasn't uneatable just bland and boring.

    Ok food.

    Appetizers:
Fried Calamari: $8. They were ring-shaped.
Sweet Potato Fries $5: SO GOOD!!!! Really crunchy when you bite in--just like a potato chip except there's the soft center of starchy goodness.

I had the Eggxtreme Pesto Pizza Half Order with Salad ($9). It was good!

Dad had the Tri-Tip Sandwich. He didn't like the Foccacia Bread very much. Mom had the Garlic Steak Sandwich, which did not seem like a big portion. I don't know if I would have been satisfied if I had chosen that.

The table next to us had quesadillas and tacos, which looked AMAZING! I might come back
    Total was $84.

I have gone to garlic brothers several times after my first review and have figured out the goods! So, the hidden secret is HAPPY HOUR! All I know is that if you want to hang and let your hair loose while not worrying about spending too much and eating decent bar food this place is good. Don't expect too much and there are a lot flaws but the drinks are strong and cheap and the appetizers are good. The pesto pasta here is my favorite dish on the menu. Pizza is decent too. They have several deals everyday of the week. Look at the website because that makes the place worth it and LOVE the view! Great for large groups!

$12 on all entrees on mondays

steak with the add on mushrooms (+$3)
The steak was cooked medium rare correctly as ordered and the mushrooms were worth the upgrade in my opinion. Came with 2 sides in which I got the garlic mash potatoes and ratatouille. The garlic mash was average but the ratatouille was a sweet and a good addition.  4/5

    garlic fries
extremely overcooked and not much garlic at all. I would think a place named garlic brothers would put more attention to their garlic fries. At least I only lost out on $3 during the happy hour price. 0/5

    grilled salmon
a little overcooked and nothing special. 3/5

Overall a decent deal on mondays but I probably wont be coming back to this place. The decor is nice and the lighting is dim. Good view of the delta.

I'm definitely a fan of their happy hour.

VIBE: chill place to hangout. Lot's of people go here in groups. People always at the bar. I believe the owner is Irish (?) but the place is pretty festive-ish (especially for st patricks day haha)
Nice people here. Sometimes they like to talk to you at the bar. I even made a friend with a nice, old lady who bought me a margarita

PLACE: Colorful. Strings of light all around. Spacious inside and outdoor seating as well. Awesome place to come to when looking out at the sunset on the marina.

    FOOD: It's pretty good.
-Tri-tip sandwich is good, a little dry.
-Pizzas are delicious with thinner crusts. The pizzas are perfect sizes to share between two people. You can also ask to have two different types of pizzas on your one order
-Ceviche, meh I would never order from here again (especially since it's a bit expensive)

    PROS:
-I believe on Mondays they have $12 entrees for plates that are usually +$20
-Monday and Tuesday? I believe all day their pizzas are half off (so about $7) and on one of those days the tacos are $1 (but don't quote me on this) it might just be during hh
    -other appetizers half off (hh)
    -great tap beer
-one of my friends made a bet with the owner at the bar and he lost so he gave us tootsie roll shots Hahaa
-friendly waiters/waitresses. They're all pretty too.

    CONS:
-without happy hour entrees are pretty pricey
-get food a little late, but use that time to chat with your friends over some beers of course

VERDICT: definitely a place to hangout with friends, enjoy some beers, catch happy hour.
    Perfect for group dining

My friends LOVE coming to garlic brothers because they like to loiter at the bar and drink and.... that's pretty much it. They also rave about the pizza here but I think they like coming here because they can loiter forever and nobody will kick them out.

    To get:
    + Garlic Fries
    + Grilled prawn cocktail
    + Pleasure point pizza
    + Margherita pizza

I swear, there are so many flies trying to get at my left arm and my friends cracked unfunny jokes about how it's because I smell. The waitress (finally) caught on that we were drinking a lot of water so she (finally) gave us a pitcher of water. The tables are long and you pretty much have to hang out on your side and hopefully you are on the cooler side. Eh, Garlic Brothers is alright - I've had better pizza.

    Wow!  A true Stockton gem!!

I can't believe in my finals days of living in Stockton, I decided now to visit Garlic Brothers for the first time.  If I had known about it earlier, I would've been a regular for sure. Garlic Brothers is located right next to the marina, so you can dine outside in the fresh air and watch boats pass by.  The view of the Delta is lovely and looks nothing like what passes through the University of the Pacific campus.

I came here with my bf for happy hour and would only recommend coming then or else it wouldn't really be worth it.  Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4-6PM.  All appetizers are $3 off and there are $2 tap beers and well drinks and tacos!  We ended up ordering Garlic Fries ($2), Grilled Oysters ($5) and the Tri-Tip Quesadilla ($5).  These Garlic Fried are true to their name!  It's completely covered with minced garlic and any garlic lover would rejoice.  The only downside is that the fries are on the softer side and I enjoy mine crispy and a few of our fries were under cooked.  Nevertheless, still good and the cheap price makes it that much better.  The Tri-Tip Quesadilla was pretty juicy and even comes with a plate of guacamole, sour cream and salsa.  I didn't try the oysters because I don't care for them but my bf said they were creamy and had a good smoky barbecue flavor.

Overall, the food is pretty good, not great but with the happy hour prices.... the whole experience is worth it.  I would highly recommend this as a date spot or showing a visitor around town.  Enjoy!

We've enjoyed the food and atmoshpere in the past.  A great place to boat in for dinner or drinks.  Before last weekend I would have given them a 4.

However on our last visit they ran out of grilled tuna (returning to the table after 10 minutes to tell us) and offered my husband the salmon as the substitue, and would he like that blackened with mushrooms--Of course he would!

When we got the bill, not only was the salmon much more expensive than the tuna, they charged us extra for the blackening and mushrooms. Since they were substituting because of their poor planning (it was 6:30 on Saturday night and they were out of tuna!) it should have been billed at the same price as the tuna or discounted in some other way.

In addition, while I appreciated the server dividing up our check for our part of 8, she did not mention to anyone that they had included the 18% gratuity, which, while she was not required to do, would have been courteous--I usually round up and she would have gotten another 3 bucks on our $77 tab for 2, but didn't because that irked me.

I felt nickeled and dimed by the end of the night and will think twice about returning.

I don't see Garlic Bros as a place to go for a special dinner. It's a great place to pull up in your boat after some wakeboarding have a snack and a beer. I'm guessing since UOP is there, maybe they hire some of the college girls..
I don't understand all the hate,it's a bar on the Delta that you can sit in wearing your board shorts or bikini and grab some food.  Works great for that.

I had a tri-tip sandwich and my fiancé ordered a garlic steak sandwich for lunch.  Surprisingly, both steaks were juicy, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. Likewise, the french fries and the foccacia sandwich bread were tasty. We sat outside the patio over-looking the delta. Nice view but it was too hot to sit out and the patio needed a little redecorating.

Over-all, I was pleased by the food and the service today. We'll probably go back there again for Happy Hour.

Happy Hour makes the food taste better.

Sorry but, it totally does seem like garlic inspired bar food. BUT with $2 to  $5 apps, and 2 dollar tap (not coors light or pabst typed) beers, and mixed drinks. You cant really go wrong. ( I do love the Happy Hour)

The view on the patio of all the boats and water is pretty sweet. Although there isnt much room out there, so dont go outside with hopes of an intimate conversation.
Last time, the lady behind me, her BIG WHITE THONG was almost touching my back.
    Not cute.

Service is hit and miss it seems like. . just depends on who you get.
You can totally tell that some horny middle aged dude is doing the hiring and hires on  . .appeal rather than courtesy. Sometimes they are fantastic waitresses, and I see that they all bust their asses at work, buttt . . Onetime a waitress broad tried yelling "what do you want? just tell me from there!"  from across the  FULL patio to us .  .

All in all. I like the place . .  I recommend it, and I will keep going back.

Food is okay, service is not the best . Why 3 stars? HAPPY HOUR is AMAZING HERE! All appetizers are 3 buck off! Also, beers are like 2 bucks and so are well drinks. Went here last Monday for a friend's bday and noticed the happy hour, decided to split a bunch of appetizers with a friend and at the end we each ended up paying 6 bucks. This is what we got...

    Garlic Fries ($2)
    Grilled Oysters ($5)
    Tri-tip Quesadilla ($5)

We were going to get the fried calamari too but ended up having to cancel it because we were way too full.

I'll be coming back for happy hour...probably not during regular time.

The only thing Garlic Brothers has going for them is the Delta view, which I did appreciate during my dining experience.

Other than the view, this restaurant is not worth going to. Overpriced for mediocre food. We went on a Tuesday which is half-price pizza night. So glad we didn't pay full price for the pizzas! The flavors just didn't work well together. Very disappointing. I ordered a steak, which I guess is my fault since it's not a steakhouse, but they were a featured item on their menu so you'd think they would be able to do it right. Ordered medium rare but received medium well. Gross. Whatever came with the steak was not memorable.

The indoor Christmas lights look tacky and amateurish. I might come back after reading the other yelp reviews about Happy Hour, but I'll make other arrangements for dinner.

So it has been over two years since we have been to Garlic Brother's so we thought, what the heck we'd try it out.

We always get the deep fried raviolis, they are still pretty good. BUT, they should serve them with a marinara sauce instead of the nasty KRAFT tasting ranch they serve there.

Secondly, my husband and I ordered two iced teas and it tasted like slightly altered water from a hose. It was gross.

The server we had looked like a teenager, couldn't have been older than 20. He had a major blank look on his face, maybe he was high or something but there was no personality, he looked sloppy in his appearance...not good.

In terms of the menu here, it appears to be great. If you read the descriptions it sounds as though the food might taste amazing...not the case.

We tried the tri tip sandwich on Foccacia bread with garlic fries. The fries were good enough, a little overpowering. But the sandwich was TERRIBLE. The cuts of meat were decent, a little tough. The killer was the bread. There was WAY too much bread for the amount of steak they give you. My suggestion to them would be to put the sandwich on a roll or even toasted sliced sourdough and add some more substance to the sandwich. The sandwich was supposed to have peppers and onions on it and they looked like they were busted out of a frozen mix because they were soggy and tiny.

Over all it appears that Garlic Brothers is trying to make as much of a profit as possible and they put out a tasteless or cheap bottle, freezer made product instead of real food.

Very very disappointing. We will definitely not be giving them another chance, which sucks because we truly want to like that restaurant, but they continuously fall short.

I returned to Garlic Brothers after my last visit which was almost 8 years ago. Me and my friends went there for happy hour. I ordered a grasshopper and I don't think the bartender knew exactly what that was and made it up. It's not very comforting when you order a drink and the bartender has a puzzled expression on their face and replies with "...yeah...okay..." and then stares at the ceiling like the recipe for the drink is up there.  But what really upset me was that she put my drink aside to get other people their drink. That's just wrong. I usually would say something but I really didn't think that would've made my experience any better. It was already done for.

Our server, when we relocated to the outdoor patio, was fantastic! Probably the only good thing about this place. I had the bruschetta which went to crap when it sat out at our table for 10 minutes. The garlic fries were bland. My party sat outside with all the loud yuppies and stared at a bunch of boats.

Why did I even go back?

There are far too many people that have reviewed this restaurant that are blinded by "the view," which is nice but not fantastic; I don't think that most of the people here have been to a nice restaurant in San Francisco.

We went for lunch and the service was decent but nothing special.

However what brings this entire place down is the food.  I had the Tequila Chicken which was runny and the rice wasn't fresh.  My mother had a steak taco but the meat tasted rancid, seriously, I tasted it too and it tasted like meat that was far past it's prime.  My sister had the shrimp pasta which was average but again, the sauce was runny.

I would say that it would be nice to just have some drinks at the bar, but the barstools don't even face the water!

All around I was very unimpressed with Garlic Brothers.  It might seem like a nice place to people that only eat at Deny's or Applebees, but for those of us that have slightly higher standards, don't waste your time.

I gave this place only two stars because I've come here numerous times and their service is always horrible. The servers always seem too distracted to tend to their guests. I remember a time when dinner took 2.5 hours for a group of five people on a weekday. It was ridiculous... we watched our food sit by the kitchen for what seemed like forever before our server finally grabbed it for us. We could never get her attention.

One upside is their $11 entrees on Mondays... that's pretty cool. Their food is not bad.

    I like this place.

Granted, yes this is Stockton, and here in Stockton it is sometimes hard to find nice places to grub at.  But this little gem of a restaurant that sits on the water was a great find!

First off, I want to thank the very personable staff that truly care about their patrons.  My boyfriend and I had arrived early so we decided to get a drink while we waited on our friends to arrive.  We are people watchers so we were observing some of the local patrons and staff tell a girl that her date was going thru her purse/wallet/cell phone when she went to the restroom!

After a gripload of drama, the staff finally escorted her date out of the restaurant and told him he was not welcomed back here.  Apparently he had rode with her so she stayed inside until he finally went away! Just the fact that they personally care about their patrons gets brownie points in my book.

As for the rest of the establishment, their drinks are on the strong side and I recommend any of their dishes that have garlic in them.  I got their ahi tuna special and it was very good!

Also note, there is a fly problem there but mainly outdoors, if you don't like insects walking on you then its probably better you dine indoors!

Had been here before and didn't really care for it.  Went back to celebrate my husband's birthday and MIL wanted to go to Garlic Brothers.  Good thing we went on their $11 per entree night.  Otherwise, it would've been a waste.

I ordered the prime rib which was highly-recommended by our waiter (with garlic mashed potatoes and veggies).  The meat was okay but it had a burnt taste with every bite.

Everyone else liked their meals...unless they just didn't want to say anything.

    Two stars for our waiter.

But, GB, please do something about the damn flies!!!  Ewwww

A tad bit overpriced (kind of like Macaroni Grill . . . except 10x tastier). The service was pretty standard, leaning more toward the mediocre side. But Garlic Brothers still remains one of my favorite restaurants in Stockton. Steak is only 11 dollars on Monday (and absolutely DELICIOUS), pizza is half priced on Tuesday, and on any day of the week, whatever cocktail you order will be STRONG, my friend, so there's the bang for your buck, there.

All the pastas are to die for - flavorful, rich, and comes in heaping portions. The calamari is sub par, but they have this garlicky crab artichoke dip (or something close to that) that's absolutely delicious.

Also, you seriously cannot beat that view. Where else in Stockton can you eat food this good with a view by the waterfront? In the VALLEY?! Come on, that alone is worth trekking out here for.

My class sometimes comes here for a drink after school.  I've had appetizers mostly, and have eaten dinner here once.  It was good.  Intense garlic flavor, which is fine for me, but which also makes this place dangerous for a date.  And I did note an unusual number of people with whom I went to high school.

If I had a boat I could take it here and park at their guest dock and give this place an added star.

    But I don't have a boat.

I'm being pretty generous.  Was unimpressed by the selection of food/beverage, and because the bartender tried to pass off cheap russian vodka in my Goose + tonic, I'll agree that service is spotty.  Possibly also because one of the waitresses does nothing but flirt with all-guy tables.  But hey, whatever gets you tips, right?

Adjacent to a parking lot, so no problem there.  Nice marina view, and outdoor seating available in warmer weather.  21+ only after 9 pm.  Bar section gets packed later in the evening, and they serve in plastic cups instead of glass after 9:30, so don't plan on getting shnockered unless you don't mind feeling like you're at a really colorful frat party.  Garlic theme prevalent in bread/potatoes/veggies.  This place is like the Aviator of cuisine... translate three hours of planes into the amount of garlic flavor on your plate, and you begin to understand the abuse your tongue will undergo.

Menu item reviews:  Tritip was pretty good, the sauce mellows out the garlic in the mashed potatoes.  Spanish rice was on the mushy side.  Their oysters are ridiculously huge and too delicious for words to accurately describe; I strongly recommend the oysters and the peppered lamb chops, because that's my tried and true.

We had dinner here at the Garlic Brothers tonight.  I'm surprised with most of the poor ratings.  When this restaurant opened, it was the 'in' place to go.  Now... well I don't know.  Our food was exceptional.  We started off with calamari and iced teas.  The iced tea is brewed with a pinch of passion fruit and was very refreshing.

The pasta was very effen good.  I can't even express to you how good it was.  I had angel hair tossed in a light alfredo sauce with a medley of fresh vegetables and a rib eye steak.  Husband had the shrimp/mushroom scampi which was quite delicious.

While our foccacia sucked, the service was excellent.  Our server packed our leftovers.

The location is interesting.  It's located in the Marina by the tennis club and on the delta.  Boaters can dock their boats next door and stop in for a cocktail on the deck.
