Geronimo Tequila Bar

Love margaritas so I was really excited to try this place; however, it wasn't all that. My experience at their happy hour didn't make me want to stay for dinner.

1) Margaritas were good. I had some top shelf thing on special and it was good.
2) HH Chicken quesadilla-- packed a lot of flavor
3) Patio & restaurant- nice decor and ambiance

Here's where the wheels fall off the cart---the bar service. Every time I had to interact with the bar tender, it was a 10+ minute wait. She was so engrossed in the conversation of the two other ladies sitting at the bar, I think she forgot she was at work. I felt like I was bothering the bar tender by placing orders or asking for the check. There were other tables in the bar area that she was not servicing as well.

The service, not the food or drinks, is what brings this place down in my opinion.

Fantastic food!! One of the few places that does something special with mexican food. Had the gazpacho soup, what a surprise! Great blend of flavors. Also had the cowgirl salad, another surprise very nice presentation. My only complaint besides ordering something called a "cowgirl salad", no need to turn in your man card when ordering; was the noise level. The crowd noise, the music and the occasional motorcycle traffic noise led to not much table conversation as everyone was struggling to hear......might be the demographic of this diner.

This place was packed on Friday night, but they still found a table for four of us. They were super busy, but never made us feel rushed, and our waiter was especially friendly.

The specialty drink selections are pretty fun, but they are expensive and go down in 3-4 sips.

The "table-side" guacamole is delicious, but it would have been nice if they REALLY prepared it table-side. We couldn't really see him make it. For $10, it should be bigger, (the container is deceptive... it's shallow).

The lobster mac-n-cheese was FULL of lobster, and very good, but a bit on the sweet side. It's also overpriced, but, like I said, they didn't skimp on the lobster.

I got the buffalo tacos. Three TINY taco shells with a very small portion of meat. It tasted good, but I was disappointed.No rice... no beans... nothing on the side.

Two in our party had the buffalo brisket tamales and they both enjoyed them.

The place fills up later in the evening with a lot of meat-market type clientele.

All in all, we would go again, but this is not a "cheap" mexican restaurant... be prepared to spend some serious cash if you are drinking.
