They should spend less time and money on renovations and more on bartenders that can actually serve and handle a crowd. The only advantage that this place has is a monopoly in the bar scene here. I can't wait until the new bar around the corner opens. I hope to have a better experience there.

Music too loud.. food horrible. Your better off drinking a beer at your own house with tray of jeno's  pizza rolls.  I wish they would go out of business.

Ok first off I live in lifestyles. I really want to like this place but the service is so bad I can't. The food is good not great but it's a bar I get that. The burgers are really good I recommend the black and blu burger. Beers is always cold and mixed drinks are good, prices are on par with every other bar. In all it's a nice place to get food and drink in a quite little place, just don't be in a hurry.

The Goat is a cool and trendy place to hang out with friends. Especially on a mild evening, it's nice to be able to sit on the outdoor patio and watch a volleyball (or corn hole) game while having a drink of choice.

There is a nice mix of older and younger patrons, good drinks, and popular music.

One thing I didn't like was the restrooms (mens). There was only one working urinal and one toilet. On a crowded Saturday night, the last thing a bunch of guys want to do is wait in line to pee. The last time I was there, this actually resulted in a fight between a few drunk guys. One decided that someone in the stall was taking too long, thus, decided to start kicking the door. Now, I'm not saying the establishment is to be held responsible for the conflict. But it would be nice to have all the urinal facilites working...especially on a busy weekend.

A nice change from a crowded big city club. I'll definately be back!

Stopped in to try their famous subs- according to their website they invented them... Anyway, they were your average bar subs.   Not bad at all, but in no way different from dozens I've had at other places.  In New Albany, I'd rather go to Eagle, or even Donato's.

Also got wings- decent, but not great- and fried mushrooms-meh.  All in all, typical bar food, at slightly high prices.  If I lived in the complex I'd stop in once in a while if I was too lazy to go 5 minutes farther away, but it's not worth a trip.  As for atmosphere, I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was dead.  Music was still blasting, though.

It took almost three years of living in New Albany for me to pay a visit to The Goat. I could have waited. I stopped by with a couple of friends on a Saturday night and the place was dead. It does seem to be fairly busy during the week when volleyball games are going on.

The service was just bad. We sat outside and the bartender was MIA most of the time and even when he was there it took a long time to be served.

Bottom line: Just drive 15 minutes for a better atmosphere and better service.

"The Goat" is a standard among the Lifestyle condos in this area.  The bar's biggest draw is its proximity and convenience; bars within walking distance are something the urban dwellers take for granted, but for us suburbanites, it's a nice bonus.

The Goat is a pretty standard bar and can have a slight "college" vibe some nights as many patrons are young professionals.  There is nothing overly exciting as far as liquor and beer availability goes: standard domestic beers with the occasional common import.

There is a nice patio, space for corn hole boards, and a large sand volleyball court all within a few steps of alcohol.

If you live or are staying in the Lifestyles, The Goat is a convenient place to visit without having to worry about traffic, parking, taxis, or DDs.

Summer recommendation: (Patio, Outdoor Sand Volleyball, Live Music/Jukebox). Locals of Lifestyle Communities (Many looking as if they stepped out of the pages of an Abercrombie catalog) and friends frequent this bar.  Lot's of fancy motorcycles/cars usually on display before you enter this establishment.  Friendly and pretty low key as most people stay together talking in their selected groups. It can get loud on the weekends and sometimes freezing as they love to crank the air-conditioner in the summer (which is good if you want to cool off from one of those Hot & Humid Ohio days).
