I ate here on 7/16.

I was with a large party and was seated at 6:30. There were several other tables around but I only saw one waitress. We ordered our drinks and they came around 7:00. Two people got the wrong drinks. We did not order appetizers

By the time first dish came, it was 8:05 and the last dish came at 8:15. The steak I had was ordered medium and it came well-done. It was grey inside. Someone got the haddock and it so dried out that it was difficult to cut, even with a knife. No one finished their entire plate or even wanted to take home their leftovers.

Quite simply, this was the worst food I have ever ordered. The dinner was memorable because my grandparents were in town but the food was awful. There was no sense even returning the food because it would have taken way too long for a new dish to arrive. Half of the dinners were screwed up, much like the drinks. Despite all that, we still managed to have a good time.

Whoever is the manager of this place should be fired, if not ashamed of themselves. There was one poor young waitress who was running around, seemingly doing everything. The bartender was more interested in socializing and I saw one other lady who looked like a waitress stand around a do nothing. Their was someone who might have been the manager, a woman I saw chatting with the cook in the kitchen, but if she was an employee, she was useless, to be honest.

I do not see any reason to ever come here again.

Found a groupon here and figured I'd give it a shot for my 11th anniversary.

Not a good choice in terms of service. This place is very geared to the over 50 crowd or at least it was when we showed up.

Entering the restaurant was confusing as they had a door (that didn't look like a door) separating the restaurant from the bar area and with the place half empty seating was kind of slow.

Got placed in the corner where a poorly placed flat screen felt as if it would fall on my head. A county club can't afford a wall mount?

The waitress didn't seem very interested in serving us and that was before she knew about our groupon. I kept having to make sure she didn't walk away for any ordering or refills and only seemed to be chatty with the older patrons her same age.

The food was only okay. We had:
Stuffed mushrooms (eh)
Chowder (good)
Chicken and ravioli (okay but watery Alfredo sauce)
12oz steak (ok, but slightly overdone and had burnt edges)

The waitress did ask if our food was good but when we said the issues with the steak and ravioli, she didn't seem to care.

The hostest and manager were in very casual clothing, the man who seemed to be the manager just in a green t-shirt.

If your a local you're likely already eating here and are making excuses for the not great food, but the other high ratings seem to be more for the reception hall than the restaurant.

They didn't even seem to want our money as the check took a while. The anniversary wasn't ruined though as we spent the time making fun of this restaurant.

We recently hosted my SIL's bridal shower brunch here and in my (not so humble) opinion, this is truly as good as it gets - especially for the money! We had 40 people invited and Terry worked magic on the venue, the brunch food was amazing - mimosas and a girlie good time. I wish that I was more eloquent in order to truly do Terry and her venue justice. Bottom line, for around HALF the price of a typical restaurant Terry and her crew the food was perfect, the service was perfect, the venue was perfect - the bride told me that it was her 'best day ever'.

let's update these reviews for the grille & pub. The Ist time we were here was July. I had the ribs & fried haddock combo. Meat fell off the bone & the batter on the fish was the lightest I've had in a long time. Wife had a chicken caesar salad, baked potatoe & veggies, excellant. Friends had blackened salmon over a salad which they said was great. They have a variety of appateasers all of which sound & looked great going by.
2nd time last nite. thought they were have twin lobsters, 15.95 but turned out to be weds & thur. I had a clambake( lob.-muss-steamers-corncobb-chowder) excellant. The prime rib was great with baked potato. lots of both meals going out. Lob. fritters 5stars OMG with julliene veggies, asked for a larger side of those. cuddoes to the bar maid, nice young lady, all the staff very nice-hi Donna. Wife is going again this week with friends.contact paul@fairwayscc.com for weekly e-mail specials.
Oh---when you get into the lot go to the right & up to the back parking lot.

Went there on Wed 07/01/09. On Wed nights, they have a pasta buffet for $12.95 per person. It was SUPERB! And $1 draft beers (Miller and Bud). They were nice to the kids, and a very friendly staff!

WHAT A GREAT VALUE!

And, on Sunday AM (from 8 AM until 1 PM) they have a Breakfast Buffet, with an Omelet station, Home-made Waffles, French Toast, Pancakes, Fresh Fruit, Danish, Coffee, etc. 11.95/per person. Something for all!

Try it out - we did! Two adults, and 3 kids. Everyone was happy!

So, the boy had a crappy birthday last year ... he was recently divorced and celebrated with his cats and a store cake. Stupid cats wouldn't keep the hats on and refused to sing to him... so... when we found each other again and I heard that story I promised that his birthdays from this point forward would be memorable and lack cats with hats!

In true Judi fashion I set out to find a fabulous venue and assemble a cast of characters from his past and present to attend. I called The Fairways (that's the name of the function hall) and worked with Terry Younis. She gets 5 plus stars in my book for advice, honesty and truly going above and beyond for me.

Let me preface by saying you get what you pay for.... and I paid. It's not cheap (if you want cheap try the American Legion and get it catered by a sub shop).. but if you want elegance and good food it can be had here for a price. I invited 30 people and all of them came with some extras When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised because the room was decorated with balloons and really cool musical theme (I told her that he was a musician... she did this on her own and really made my day by doing it).

Terry talked me out of having a limited menu and letting folks order what they wanted. She saved me some money here. I ordered fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms and a cheese/cracker/meat platter to start. They were all good from what I heard.. I was too busy with greeting people to enjoy them! For dinner I followed Terry's advice and had buffet style. We served swordfish piccata, roast fillet mignon, mashed potato, a veggie medley (that was really good... fresh veggies nothing frozen) and a beautiful salad. The food was plentiful and totally yummie... I think I saw my son get up to that table for refills on fish and meat 3 times (bless his heart and soul~) everyone RAVED about the food so it was well worth the cost!

For dessert she went to some bakery and got an Italian Rum cake that was DEADLY and a chocolate cake (equally as good... dense, fudgy and really good frosting). I ordered coffee/tea and shots of sambuca or Baileys for the house. I was surprised when the bill came at the end ... it was only 1200.00 and that included tip for the bar and waitstaff AND the rounds of shots. I didn't feel like that was bad considering the amount of people and how much we were fed AND how good it was! Oh... did I mention that during our planning conversation I said in passing that my daughter won't eat any of this... so when dinner was served the chef brought out a HUGE bowl of macaroni with butter just for her?!?! I was pleasantly surprised as I'm used to feeding her before any event!

I'd do this again in a heartbeat. It was a great value and it beat the stuffing out of a birthday with the kitties!

I was here recently for a wedding reception and the place is beautiful. They have a huge stone fireplace in the main room and a smaller one off to the side. It made for some great pictures and a cozy atmosphere.

The drinks were flowing and the servers were sweet. Unfortunately, I couldn't identify the meat. Seriously though, dinner was terrible. For the price that plate must have cost, I would have liked to taste SOMETHING on my plate, but everything was very dry and completely lacked any flavor. Maybe it's just par for the course when you're serving 200, but I don't know.

It was a great time though, so 4 stars and not the three I was debating.
