Had dinner here Saturday night with a networking group. Ordered the fish and chips. Traditionally fish and chips is Fish and FRIES (to Americans). Was asked by the waiter if I wanted fries instead of chips (crisps to our friends in the UK). I said, of course, fries. (Potato chips with fish? Really?)

The meal came out and I noticed that the fish was dark. The fries were dark. I don't know when this place opened, but is obvious that the oil in the frier hasn't been changed since then. It was all dried out and had absolutely no taste worth mentioning.

When I got the bill, I found that the "fish and chips" did not cost $10.95 as was shown on the menu, but that it was almost $13. The waiter informs me "that's because you got the fries". I said, "it would have been nice if you had informed me of this when I ordered". He claims he did. He did not.

There was a gratuity added to the meal due to the number of people in our party. Fine. However, my 10.95 fish and (are they chips or are they fries?), with a diet coke and the gratuity cost me $19. Absolutely awful meal for roughly $20.

Top it with the fact that we couldn't get the waiter to bring us a check when we wanted to leave... I won't go back. Not even to see the bands that play (it does seem like a great room for that option.)

After being seated in the nearly-empty cavernous dining room and placing our order, we were told that a large party (which was nowhere in sight) had just put in an order ahead of us so it would be a little while.  That turned out to be the understatement of the night!

There were just 2 of us and we had a very straightforward order: chicken fingers and a burger, but it still took almost an hour to come out. The waiter did bring us a couple of dinner rolls, which were actually very good, to tide us over, but I just couldn't help but wonder how in the world the kitchen would handle a dining room that was even half full. This was prime time, by the way, 7pm on a Friday.

They say hunger is the best sauce so I'm not even sure I can accurately comment on the food quality because anything would have tasted good at that point, but my burger was passable, if a litle bland, and the onion rings (a $2 up-charge vs. chips) were at least average. The waiter, despite being highly apologetic, continued to disappoint by taking forever to bring ketchup and then the check after the order was delivered. It almost felt like there was another "real" restaurant somewhere that we couldn't see and we were just the unimportant overflow. I swear, there were at least 3 servers for maybe 5 tables that I could see!

They do have a giant deck out back overlooking a pond, so I might consider coming back here for a beer in the summer, but not again for dinner.
