Harry Caray Restaurant

I only drank here and got take-out, so I can't speak on the quality of the waitstaff service, but as airport bars go, this was great. The bartender was friendly and fast, and helped me deliberate on what to get as my final meal in Chicago. As I hadn't yet had the Italian Beef I pulled the trigger, and found it to be pretty delicious despite being somewhat suspect of ordering it in the airport. But I'm just a girl from Philly so I could be wrong. Either way, the pre-flight stop to have a beer and sit for a while was a good decision, and the next time I have some time to kill in Midway I won't turn up my nose.

If I were reviewing only my meal, this would be 4 stars. I had the smoke house burger which was very good. Very large, but juicy and tasty. Our server was great too. The seating is rather cramped though even though it was not very busy, so avoid if you have a decent amount of luggage with you.

Now to the bad part:
My girlfriend with me had the pesto chicken sandwich. Part way through she discovered a portion of it that was under cooked and still pink. We complained to the server who promptly took it away and went to start something else for her. A few minutes later the manager comes out and states that she looked at it and it was cooked fine. Since my girlfriend had eaten a decent portion (50%) of the sandwich she would not give us something else, only a discount on that meal.

This is unacceptable service.  The restaurant could have redeemed themselves by comping that meal and getting my girlfriend something else, but they chose to go the complete opposite route and argue that we were in the wrong.  

Overall, I expected more from a Harry Caray restaurant. I've been to the one in downtown Chicago multiple times and have only good things to say about it.

This place was packed.  If you don't mind sitting at the bar, slide right past the hostess and grab a seat at the bar.  The staff was very friendly.  And since it's an airport, the staff was rushing to get you everything you need.

FOOD:
Minestrone Soup:  Surprisingly very good.
Smokehouse Burger:  This thing was huge (I split it with the wife).  It was ok.  I'd order it again, but it's just because there's probably not much better.
