I was kicked out & banned from Harry's because Sam, the dopey bartender, didn't think I should borrow a dollar from a guy I was playing pool with to buy my last beer there. Â He threw the money back at me when I came back down to the bar to pay for the beer. Â When I got upset, two homely doormen grabbed me and forcefully pushed me out when I resisted
. Â I hope Sam and the doorman get fired for this...but that is unlikely since their owner probably won't read this.
Poor customer service & a failure of management of the situation.  I think he was trying to impress the staff members that were sitting at the bar, by disrespecting me and kicking me out.  That's not how you treat a customer, Samuel.
I love Harry's! I live right around the corner from this place, and I try to go here as much as possible. Great bar food (they have an awesome pork belly sandwich right now), lots of food specials, and the best trivia host in town on Monday nights. It's a fun place to watch big Boston playoffs action: even though I'm a native New Yorker, I still manage to have a good time (except during Pats games: sorry guys, I just can't do it!). Just make sure you get to the bar early during the playoffs, because you are not the only one in the neighborhood who knows it's the best place to watch the game. Also, the wait staff and bartenders are consistently awesome and friendly, and you should give them big tips on the regular.
Review Source:Donald the bartender is nice and he was very easy to talk to. Â He was kind enough to change the channel on one of the tvs so that my husband and I can watch the Real Madrid soccer game. They have a lot of tvs and they all play sports so I am assuming that this is the place to be when watching games. Â We liked the music they played in the background, as well as the set-up of the whole bar. Â
The food was not bad. Â I really liked my pork belly sandwich. The pork belly was crispy on the outside but tender and juicy in the inside. The aioli was on point and I actually asked for extra because I liked my sandwich smothered with it. My husband had the tuna sandwich but he said he wasn't too impressed by it. Â He ended up eating a quarter of my pork belly sandwich. The waffle fries tastes like the tried and true Jack-in-the-Box curly fries and the little holes in the waffle fries were perfect for soaking up the sauce you are dipping it in (in my case that yummy aioli they served with my sandwich).
I am new to Boston and I didn't knew that "blueberry" beer is common here. Â I am officially a fan of the blueberry beer. I highly recommend their blueberry beer. For those of you who have not yet tried blueberry beer, it basically tastes like a Hefeweizen (wheat beer) but with blueberries floating on top of it. Â It is light and very refreshing and is perfect for a hot sunny day.
Modest upgrade for proactive management. I applaud their listening to and hopefully addressing client concerns. I must qualify that my bad service experience was not at the bar. I've visited the place during extremely busy days/events and must admit the bar staff were great, attentive and responsive - despite the crowds. Perhaps they could run a little training program for others... ;-)
Non the same, I have not been back since and cannot comment on service level improvements. Management appears to be on the right track so I expect things will improve.
I'm a regular here (on their website, no shame), and I absolutely love it. I've been able to get a seat pretty much every time I've went, and yet it still manages to have a good, entertaining crowd. The food is typical bar food, but there's something about it (not sure what) that makes it so much better and reliable than other places. Try their grilled cheese and pretzel bites, you won't be disappointed. For beer, have some Harpoon Red Paint; it's exclusively made for Harry's, and super refreshing. Lastly, you can't beat the big screen and multiple TVs! Great spot to catch any game, so go!
Review Source:Decent wine and beer selection, big screen TVs to watch the game, and a pool table! Best part is its next door to my place, so couldn't get more convenient. Haven't tried any of the food, so cant comment on that. Definitely on the quieter side, probably due to the location, but i like that as you can still carry a conversation with the person sitting next to you.
Review Source:Harry's is that neighborhood bar where you find yourself whenever you don't feel like cooking dinner or are in search of one last nightcap before you head home. The bartenders are friendly, the waitstaff comes to know you and the food is always decent considering it's coming from a pub.
The menu changes pretty frequently, but I've never had a problem with anything I've ordered. The cod fingers, in particular, are always delicious and have just the right amount of fish:batter:oil. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the Harry's Burger, having gone so far as to ask them for a container of Harry's Sauce to go -- and then proceeded to slather it all over everything he ate for the next 24 hours. The specials and late-night menu are a big hit with the regulars and I don't know of anyone who has been disappointed with $2 taco Thursdays. I do, however, miss the old sweet-habanero wings; those were a frequent treat reserved for Friday nights, a pitcher of Harpoon and the Bruins on the big screen. The beer selection is pretty good, as are the wine and liquor lists. The summertime specialty drinks are always a hit, as well.
Price-wise, Harry's is about on par with the other local sports bars, which isn't surprising given the market. Dinner and a few beers will usually run the two of us about $40, give or take a couple bucks.
A word to the wise: avoid Mondays if you want to watch the game -- it's trivia night and the place is always packed. Also, it can be crowded/loud on the weekends, particularly after 9:30, so be aware of that if you're bringing someone here hoping for conversation. Otherwise, Harry's is a pretty good bet all around.
Pubs and burgers naturally go hand in hand and for good reason. The problem is, most pub burgers, at least for me, are not very good. A cold beer and a warm fatty burger is a delight when executed properly, but the majority of pubs are more focused on the booze and less on the food. Harrys Bar in Brighton is an elevated version of a better bar serving food, at least in my neck of the woods. I've been to Harry's on three separate ocassions, with pretty mixed results each time. At its peak, Harry's serves an excellent burger, demographic notwithstanding, it has everything you'd look for in a classic burger. The lesser version is acceptable; sort of greasy, a little beefy but unspectacular. When it's not great it's an over-cooked, bland burger that supports the argument for the anti-Pub burger movement. (*movement pending) Of course that all speaks to the inconsistency of it all, not specifically Harry's but burgers, and restaurants around town, are generally inconsistent. What separates the men from the boys is the ability to bring it every night, which is easier said than done, folks.
The Harry's burger is a lot like other burgers around town, and for $8.50 it's a straight-shooter with the usual cheese, lettuce, tomato and house sauce. The ability to add bacon, mushrooms and onions is available, and the bacon is thick and crispy on two of the ocassions, yet a greasy and chewy mess on one visit. The half-pound burger has the ability to be quite beefy, even though it's never a perfect medium-rare, when it's seasoned properly it takes the burger to a whole new level. But that should be obvious; those who don't like salt are missing the point of it all, as salt brings out the natural flavors of food, not just burgers. It's such a simple thing but the proof is in the pudding, or burger in this case. When the Harry's burger is seasoned, it's a winner, forget nailing the doneness, it's moslty about the flavor. Although cooking the burger to the requested doneness is a badge of honor, and something that should be automatic, it doens't tell the whole story. The fries are thick and fluffy, bringing to life the lost art of the steak fry, when done properly is as satisfying as any skinny fry out there. Harry's does the fry well, with enough surface and interior salt to make them a winner. It's mostly par for the course at Harry's, not worthy of a destination, or a burger to go out of your way for, but at its apex, it's the best example of a Pub burger out there, but on the average, it lies comfortbaly between good and good enough.
Harry's Bar and Grill is the neighborhood bar that everyone should have. Â It gets crowded, but is never too bad, the food is decent (good steak tips), and there is a good selection of drinks/beer. It is the perfect place for those that live in the Allston/Brighton area but do not need to sport a fake ID to get into one of the Harvard Ave bars. There is a pool table that is always busy. It is my go-to place for a casual night, or a great way to end the night.
Review Source:I used to come to this bar pretty often when I lived just cross the street. I'm not a person that likes beer very much but they have wide varieties of beers and the blue berry taste really good for me who prefer sweeter drinks.
Their home made turkey chilly can be one of the most spicy things I've ever had but it taste terrific and every time I go there, I'd like to have a small cup. You should not miss their tacos either, it's amazing that an American sports bar could have such tasty Mexican food.
Small as the bar is, it's not very noisy and you can enjoy watching sports, playing pools and hanging out with friends there. Their selection of the background music is good too, ranging from rock, pop or maybe a little country I guess. Anyway, I recommend Harry's.
I like Harry's because it is a minimalist sports bar with a nice selection of beer and quality grub.
I will probably visit it more now since I got a Allston/Brighton sticker which allows me to park right in front now.
The crowd seems more to be an after work and after-college crowd with a handful of your locals. I specifically chose Harry's the other night to watch the Celtics because of their menu. Its bar food, but not the type of bar food you get at the larger sports bars. I recall when it was the Elbow room and I loved their menu then. Not sure if its the same owners, but the food is the same quality albeit bar food.
Great daily specials and plenty of tvs. Our waitress had some cool tats. Rest of the staff was nice and accommodating.
I really like Harry's, and I'm surprised at this. It looks like any other BU-area college bar, but they really do take it up a notch.
First, the staff is really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The look of the place is a step up from lots of other Comm Ave bars and pubs: just enough (not too many) TVs, good music (without an overly-thumping bass), and higher-end alcohol options (really good wine, top-shelf liquor that isn't too expensive, etc.)
One thing that surprises me every time at Harry's is the quality of the food. Yes, they have the standard fare of wings, burgers, and fries; however, I've gotten really odd things at this place that exceed my expectations.
The "Portuguese Fisherman's Stew" is a-freaking-mazing. Chunks of cod, lobster (REAL lobster), muscles and chorizo in a vegetable-based broth... and this is at a bar! It was really a reasonable price, too, and I couldn't even finish it all. They also have daily dinner specials like wraps and sandwiches for $5.
Although they don't have a parking lot as far as I can tell, they are steps off of the Warren St. T stop and a number of bus lines. If you want to take a break from the loud, crazy college bars, come to Harry's.
Meh.
I know everyone just adores this place but I just think it's mediocre and just kinda there. I've been here a few times and it's a cute place but nothing special. The food is again- not on the great level but not on my hate level either. I think it just turns me off that most of the clientele are surrounding college students. Doubletriple MEH.
I wish they would spice it up and do like a dance floor at night or have a DJ or something. Â Do something that makes you stand apart from the other seedy bars!
As a neighborhood bar, this has been a popular place for friends and classmates to gather.
We were a party of 10 on a Wednesday night taking advantage of their $0.40 cents/wing deal. While we waited for the food, we watched the Olympics on their huge TVs.
The bar crowd wasn't overwhelmingly loud, which I really appreciate, and the service was fairly decent given how many of us there were at the table and that people kept trickling in over the course of 3 hours.
After 6 pm, they do card, so bring your ID, and there is "Happy Hour" from 3 - 6 pm.
I lived above this bar for 2 years and it became my standard "go to" with great specials that include $0.40 wing night, $5 cheeseburgers (with a purchase of a drink), and $2 tacos (to name a few).
It's a great place to relax after work (or school in my case) and watch a game on their projector above the bar or one of there several tvs. Â For the wing nights, we would often get large groups (between 5-12) in there and the staff didn't mind us pulling together several tables to accommodate our party. They had several flavors (hot, medium, mild, bbq, mango-habanero, jerk, teriyaki, Guatemalan insanity pepper, golden bbq, sweet chili, grilled Memphis or grilled old bay) and while I had a chance to try them all over time, my favorites were hot and grilled old bay. We made SO MANY bone-yards and enjoyed every second of it!
The cheeseburgers were really good, even when they were on special they included fries. At $5! What a steal! I realized that Boston has really good food specials since they can't have drink specials and that is one thing I miss after getting back to CA.
They change their menu every so often, but keep the staples (aka the specials) pretty much the same. The service is usually good, but I also found that their wait staff had a tendency to have a healthy turn over.
This is definitely a neighborhood bar. The atmosphere is warm, and if you came here as often as I did, they stopped carding me because they recognized me. (That's never happened to me before, and I gotta say, that was pretty cool!)
There is also visitor parking close to the bar. It's definitely not easy to come by, but at least it's available! Just be sure to check the signs, as you will get ticketed if you park in resident parking without the right permit.
Harry's is a neighborhood bar. Â I wouldn't call it a dive bar and doesn't feel like one. Â It normally feels like a casual relaxing bar, is sometimes a sports bar (there is a large screen behind the bar during games), and has a pool table (which is almost always in use). Â I like the place - it doesn't usually get very crowded and you don't often have to wait for a table. Â It doesn't feel like the noisy, sticky bars in allston.
They have specials during the week. Â The best is Tuesday where the burgers are $5. Â The burgers are actually pretty good. Â Not the best around but solid - no complaints. Â The other specials aren't as good. Â For example, their tacos on Thursday are mediocre at best. Â The food is good. Â The prices are a bit high generally but comparable with other places in the area, and I would rather go here than one of the larger places.
The beer prices are standard, but I took away one star for not being barfully responsible. Â For those who don't know, this means that there should be at least one draft that is cheap ($1-3 drafts, and generally in pitchers as well). Â Because there cannot be happy hours in MA, responsible bars do this. Â Harry's does not - boo.
Another thing I like about this place is that the people don't tend to be the loud, sticky type that frequent the allston bars. Â However, I have seen more than a few guys at this bar in skinny jeans. Â Why any guy would do this is beyond me but I should give warning - there is something off with some of the people who go to this bar. Â They are sometimes the ones who play pool. Â I feel like I should say something but they have to be aware that they are wearing skinny jeans in public right?
Solid neighborhood bar minus the male skinny jean eye sore and the lack of barful responsibility.
I have lived near Harry's for...well...forever, but always found myself going elsewhere. Â Since moving even closer to the bar, I have really enjoyed frequenting Harry's. Â You will rarely see this place over-crowded, horribly loud, and the clientele sure beats places like...Barley Hall for example. Â (But that's another review) Â
Anyways, Harry's doesn't have anything special beerwise, or foodwise, or atmospherewise, but there's something very comforting about it. Â Everything is pretty standard, but I guess that's what I like so much about it. Â I really love the grilled cheese varieties and tomato bisque. Â I think I eat that every time I go there.
So. Â If you don't want to deal with a bunch of dickheads, or wait in an overly packed bar, or you want to do TRIVIA every Monday night?? Â Harry's is just where you should go.
Bad form Harry's, bad form. You had 4 stars in my book until you started blasting Christmas music and pop hits at 10:30pm. I tried continuing my conversation with my friend but I had to yell (and still he couldn't hear me). So, we hastened the downing of our drinks and skipped on out. My ears were ringing slightly when we left soon after.
Their drink selection is decent (they have my favourite wine on hand: Casillero del Diablo Cab Sauv) and the food is quite satisfying too ($5 for a tub's-worth of hummus, a handful of kalamata olives, and a boatload of pita triangles).
Their atmosphere is laid back, clean, comfy, mild lighting and high ceilings. They also have a pool table to boot.
This place is too comfortably close to say I won't be back. I just hope when I drop back in it'll be less obnoxious.
I live really close by and I simply love this place. It's a great bar with a relaxed atmosphere.
Food is your general kind of bar food, so it's relatively cheap, but it's also delicious.
Probably most important, though, is that it's far enough up Comm away from Harvard Ave. that it's practically HIPSTER-FREE! But, wait! It gets better! It's also far enough away from both BU and BC so there are no teeny-boppers with fake IDs.
It really is a great neighborhood bar.
Have gone here numerous times since it changed over from The Elbow Room several years back. Â I remember hearing when it opened that it was under the same ownership as Whitehorse, and I've assumed this to always be the case. Â Certainly seems like a smaller version of Whitehorse in many ways.
Food is OK. Â Decent boneless wings. Â Decent burgers. Â Nothing that's going to make you seek this place out, but good enough grub to get you through trivia night. Â Pretty good beer list. Â The taps are limited and largely macro/Sam/Harpoon... a pretty strong rotating selection of bottled beers though.
I kind of like the location. Â Being a couple blocks away from the intersection of Harvard and Commonwealth, it's almost like a bar suburbia. Â This helps it stay less busy. Â Too long of a wait at Sunset or Deep Ellum? Â Take a walk over to Harry's, realign your expectations, relax and enjoy.
Oh Harry's. Comparable to McLaren's in the show "How I Met Your Mother". Always a good crowd, but never too crowded, and the staff knows your name (at least if you go in there as much as my friends and I do). This is the old stand-by. When all the other shitty bars in Allston have lines and are filled with BU kids or stupid hipsters, Harry's is the best around.
A good example: Tried to go to Jalapenos on Cinqo de Mayo, but it was packed (obviously) and we couldn't get a table. Went to Harry's instead. Donald was at the bar so i gave him a high-five. Walked to the upper level and immediately got a table to sit at. Ordered several ($100 worth) Patron shots, some beers, and some tacos (holiday special). Donald switched the jukebox over to his iPod and played all of Pinkerton (Weezer, in case you're new), and we proceeded to have A sing-along (at the top of our lungs) to the entire album. Later on, Donald came up and treated us to some beers on the house.
Decent beer selection (10 drafts maybe?), cheap domestic bottles. The food is solid, though nothing I would absolutely crave. The staff is really great, especially if you get to know them. They have a pool table, several T.V.'s (including a giant projection screen). Never crowded with annoying people.
The perfect Allston hangout bar, IMO...lolz
I need to preface my review by saying I basically live across the street from Harry's, and visit their at least twice a week.
That being said, I would come from Somerville to eat at Harry's.
Not only are the staff extremely friendly, but the food and atmosphere are fantastic. They have had a few changes in their kitchen so some things I absolutely loved are gone, but new ones have emerged. Guinness Stew, Steak Tips, Parmesan Fries, to name a few.
Harry's also prides themselves on their extensive beer list. Among the draft beers is my favorite, Victory Hop Devil...a killer IPA. You will find all the favorites on tap; Guinness, Sam, Magic Hat #9, Smuttynose, etc. Their bottle beers include everything from Belgians, Lagers, IPAs, all big and small breweries alike.
Best night to go for a relaxing dinner out would be Tuesday. They offer their burgers for $5. If you're a trivia buff head over there on Monday nights.
This is very much a locals spot where everybody knows your name, for better or worse. I just moved out of the area, and I am really going to miss the blueberry beer with loads of big fat blueberries in it and the amazing staff. I recommend the club sandwich, the sweet potato fries and the stoli blueberry lemonade. Also, for whatever reason, the Magner's here is cheaper than everywhere else around All-Bright. If you drive, check Warren Street for parking first.... you can usually find something there.
Most importantly, if you are ever feeling lost and in need of good advice, ask Charlie. He's the bartender that looks just like John Cusack.
Harry's is my kind of place. Â In Allston/Brighton, you run into a lot of BU/BC kids or hipsters. Â Not so much at Harry's. Â It's got everything you want in a bar. Â Cheap beer, surprisingly good bar food, and fun staff.
I guess I'm a little lost when people say that the food isn't spectacular. Â Seriously? Â This is pub food. Â You're not going to get seared foie gras. Â You'll get wings, and you'll love them. Â Best wings I've found in Boston so far. Â Until recently, they had the best grilled cheese I've ever had (pepper jack on Texas toast with thick cut bacon), but sadly they've removed it from the menu. Â You'd think you could still order a grilled cheese, but they won't make it. Â Pity. Â But my friends and I have tried quite a bit of the other stuff on the menu here and have only had minor complaints (save for the tuna...they cooked the hell out of it).
Monday night trivia is a blast, even though I can't stand the trivia guy. Â But hating him gives my life meaning, so I guess it's a wash. Â Really friendly staff with infectious optimism.
This place isn't without its flaws. Â Aside from the tuna mentioned earlier, there are a few things I'd like see changed. Â First off, the bathroom is pretty repulsive. Â Not only clean it up a bit better, but also paint it or decorate so it doesn't look so much like the pit from Silence of the Lambs. Â And for a corner bar in Boston, you absolutely have to have Sam Adams on tap. Â No excuses. Â And no, just having the seasonals does not count. Â Make the trivia guy play better music. Â And bring back the grilled cheese sandwich!
As a lone soldier, I have to be comfortable at the bar before I call it a good pit stop. I was in the area and vaguely remember a joint at this corner, so I decided to come on by.
Got carded walking in. Enjoyed sipping wine while watching the Sox with volume! They had the game on the speakers!! The night I went, the atmosphere was low key which made it more enjoyable.
Not gonna lie, I was reluctant to check this place out, since I had heard mixed reviews about the crowds that tend to hang out here. Â To be on the safe side I went with a friend for dinner during a week night and find myself pleasantly surprised by the variety of pub fare and the well priced draft beers. Â None of beers are more than $5 (which is a find in Boston). Â After my initial visit I have gone a few other times, and have yet to be disappointed. Â The bartenders are attentive and friendly. Â Earlier in the night you can definately find a place to sit with a couple of friends. Â As the night goes on, the place gets crowded and becomes standing room only. Â It seems like its a pretty 50/50 split between young professionals, townies, and college kids. Â
This place is a great neighborhood hang out, especially for a drink or two after work. Â The prices are great and the staff is decent. Â There is no cover because they only play music from a juke box. Â Overall-- amazing dive bar that I can crawl home from at the end of the night instead of hopping in a cab (major brownie points for this!)
This is the exact right place to go to on a lovely weeknight after work when you're in the mood for a burger (veggie or beef), some fries, and a few beers. The bar has great ambiance, helped enormously by the large front windows that are kept open during nice weather.
Our waitress (the same woman each time we've been) is friendly, prompt, and good with the refills. Food is what you'd expect at a bar - bar foodish. Yes, it could use improvement, but stick with classics like burgers (with tons of yummy toppings) or artichoke spinach dip, and you'll be fine.
There are large TVs (but not excessively so, like the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse) and pool tables. All in all this is a great place to go watch the game or just relax.
So, it was 7PM on a Saturday evening and my friends caleld me to join them here. I had no idea what to expect.
I arrived at 8:30PM and found my friends sitting at a table drinking Margaritas. Of course I ordered one-only $5. The waitress was very friendly and in a genuine way. Not like so many other useless waitresses that treat you the same as every single customer, she was very attentive to our table.
I ordered a number of drinks including a Manhattan. I wanted it made a specific way and she helped me out by deciding which way was best etc according to what they do in the bar.
I also ordered a surf and turf. For $9.50 I got an 8 ounce steak, about 16 deep fried battered shrimp, mash and a medley of veg.
The atmosphere was nice there to. It wasn't packed at all but had enough customers to give a nice ambiance with the back ground chatter.
I will be back here. Soon. I will bring people here.
For the prices at this bar, and the service this will be a new hang out of mine.
Harry's is great for a low-key night. I've gone with groups of friends, groups of coworkers, with a friend and with a boyfriend. So socially, very versatile. The service is pretty good and the food is tasty and fairly cheap (again, it's pub grub- great with a beer). I love the buffalo chicken wrap with a beer in the summer when the place is opened up.
I haven't ever seen the place crowded and it doesn't get noisy or cramped. I have walked in at 10pm on a Friday and plopped right down at a table. Maybe its due to the lack of crowds, maybe its due to the sensibility of the person who controls the jukebox decibel level, but I am always a fan of a place where you can hear the people around you. (And no, I don't mean eavesdropping but rather the people you are out with.)
Even better, Harry's is very T-accessible (hello? Comm. Ave) and for me, foot accessible. Which means I burn off the calories I ingest  while there, right? RIGHT?
Harry's gets FIVE STARS for what it is - a local pub with the best pub food in the neighborhood. The bartenders are friendly and helpful, though the servers can be slow when it's busy.
My tip? Sit at the bar and try the Cobb salad - it's the best I've had - really fresh and the cilantro vinaigrette is delicious!! The sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, and sandwiches are great, and my roommate raves about the turkey tips.
If the Red Sox are playing, they're on TV, and there's Pub Trivia at 8pm on Monday nights - be there early for a good seat.
Does anyone remember when the space currently occupied by Harry's was the El Phoenix Room, one of the diviest dives of them all? Â If you do, let's reflect on how far Allston-Brighton has come in the last few years; if you don't, consider yourself lucky. Â Back when we were young, poor and alcoholic, one of my friends used to say that El Phoenix always reminded him of Mos Eisley's creature-filled cantina from "Star Wars."
Well, Harry's is no dive. Â It's a nice, dimly-lit neighborhood bar and restaurant where you can hang out with friends or go by yourself for a meal that's a couple of steps above takeout and not feel like a loser for dining alone. Â The food is cheapish and tasty, the waitstaff are pleasant, and they've got a pool table and plenty of TVs showing the usual sporting events.
Harry's is really the only fairly decent place in my corner of Allston-Brighton but there's absolutely no reason to stop by unless you happen to live in the neighborhood or know someone who does. Â So stay away, you Watertownians and Newtonites--you don't see me hanging out in *your* bars!
Stopped here with a friend for a drink after work. Nice little neighborhood bar. When we went in its was pretty quiet, but filled up shortly afterwards. For two beers and two appetizers, the meal came to barely $20. The service was quick and friendly and the food was good pub food. Greasy and Yummy when you in that kind of mood. I've lived in Brighton for almost a year and never knew it was there till last night.
Definitely going back for a nice relaxing drink at some point especially after a day of craziness. Like every day this entire MONTH. I think next time I will order one of the burgers they looked delish coming out of the kitchen.
Basically a bar but since we were here im going to write about the food. Â This place is right on Comm ave and is actually hard to find but is actually a great local spot to grab a beer; they have 2 dollar busch light bottles and some decent beers on tap, place feels real open and has a pool table and lots of open space to move around; bathrooms are like a scary backalley movie, wouldnt take a dump here if you paid me, in the caves of the downstairs; a group of us ordered some pitchers and ate some food; overally pretty basic bar food but with cheap prices, decent burgers; i had the steak tips which were about 9 bucks, and bit tough and overcooked but what can expect for that price; Â advice come for booze and once you get sloppy then order the food (curley fries are a good choice);
FYI not a lot of parking and they have wifi i think
5 out of 10
I am hesitant to post anything on this place, because I don't want too many people to realize it exists, and love it like I do. So do me a favor, and read this review, but please don't go to Harry's. Non-descript, vinyl sign, tucked into a corner on Comm Ave in Brighton, Harry's will feed you and inebriate you well for a twenty spot. Not a single item on the food menu (which includes steak tips, and the AWESOME turkey tips) crests the $10 mark, and there is always a $2 beer special. They also have free Wi-Fi, and they are right on the green line. Oh, and get the sweet potato fries as a side and thank me later.
Low key, never packed, great and cheap food, good beer, good music, good people. Now stay away.
I live with both of you...
hahahhahahahahah
a chill place, they should turn down the volume of the tv and music.
Slightly too loud, but I probably say that about every bar I've ever been in. Â Food here is awesome, I've had wings, burgers, nachos, fries, chips, and they've been consistent and delicious. Â Cheap pitchers, decent selection of beers and alochol.
This review is done.
