Stopped in on our way through the area. Â A great little diner tucked into a small strip mall. Â Nice friendly service, good food at a great price.
You have to go if only  for the home made deep fried potato chips.  Warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and spiced just right.
And more home made pies than you could want.
Best greasy spoon breakfast I have had in years! It makes me sad that I cannot uproot this place and bring it back to Denver with me.
Helen's Kitchen is just about the most charming place I've ever been to. It's a place where the waitresses give you the most sincere smiles and the best service anywhere. Maybe it's a midwest thing, but I was happy to  notice a lack of pushy and rushing attitude. The restaurant was full of locals. Everyone who came in was greeted by name. And although we were just visitors, I felt like we were greeted and cared for just the same way.
For $4 and some change, I had two eggs, two sausage, hash browns, two slices of toast and unlimited coffee. Not only was it cheap, but it was delicious. I can understand why it is a local favorite. Definitely give this place a try if you live there or if you are passing through this sleepy town.
