Heroes Restaurant & Pub

Went to lunch here with my family and we all enjoyed our meals. Very polite and efficient service as well. My mom had the steak salad and was very pleased, as the veggies were crisp and fresh, the steak done to her liking without being tough and topped with three of the best onion rings she's had while eating out in a long time. My French dip was also very good, with the prime rib being thinly sliced and quite tender and the Au Jus not being too salty (as it can be at many restaurants). My brother also found his burger and fries to be good, but says the fries were a bit on the heavily salted side for his tastes. We also enjoyed the decor of the restaurant as it references the history of the town as well as classic movies and American history. It is a very nice place to get dinner and good service in Warrensburg. However do keep in mind it is located on Pine street (aka bar street) and may not be the ideal place to take young kids on weekend nights. Also the parking is limited (on pine street) and you may end up parking elsewhere downtown and walking to get to the restaurant. Overall it is a great place to eat in this town, with good menu choices and nice for a special occasion or just a casual night out.

I took a group of family members here for Sunday brunch, as they are one of few locally owned options. The service was the worst I've ever had at any restaurant, comically so. We were only one of two tables in the whole place, so I don't know their excuse. The food was decent when it finally came, but the coffee was a watered down version of generic drip you'd have at a non-coffee lovers house and the orange juice was just mixed from frozen concentrate...nothing special.

Our family had a wonderful experience here! We were 6 adults and two young kids, a challenging group in a full section that included other kids (including babies) also. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was outstanding! Not only was she cheerful and helpful throughout, but she got every order right and was quick with special requests. Of special note, she was conscientious enough that at the end of the meal she asked if "anyone is interested in D-E-S-S-E-R-T", thus avoiding trouble by potentially riling up the kids; I was impressed.

Everyone was happy with their food, too. From my prime rib special with loaded baked potato, to the steak sandwich, to the salads, to the kids' "smiley fries", nobody had any complaints. Their Unknown Soldier drink, a dangerously smooth fruity concoction, was delicious and available in a 1-liter carafe.  

Warrensburg isn't known for great restaurant options, but this is one I'll definitely advocate for. Thanks for a wonderful (and reasonably priced) evening!
