My husband and I visited the facility while my granddaughter was here a couple of weeks ago. Â The exhibits were interesting and interactive. Â My granddaughter enjoyed her visit, but I think her favorite part of the visit was the pistachio ice cream she ate after our self-tour. Â I love cheese curds and was not disappointed because they had cheddar curds for sale in the store. Â They label them as "Squeakers" because they 'squeak' were you chew them. Â There were many samples out for tasting, so of course we tasted them all! Â I was really surprised that there were so few visitors. Â I guess since it is off of the beaten path, many people don't even know this is here. Â The factory employs about 600 people so it is important to the local economy. Â Much of the cheese they produce is sold under other labels, so you may not even know you are eating Hilmar cheese. Â They are one of the largest cheese producers in the country and are in the process of opening a new factory in Texas.
Review Source:My fiance and I had previously emailed information and set a meeting with the catering director, Mr. Alves to discuss our upcoming wedding. Â Mr. Alves was informed about our small number of guests and had suggested some food menus.
Unfortunately, at our meeting 6 weeks later, we were informed by Mr. Alves assistant (he was on vacation) that catering policy was changed, and they would not be able to accommodate less than $3000 charge for an off site event. Â
We were never contacted with this change, although Mr. Alves assistant informed us that they had discussed it previously amongst themselves.
Not impressed.
