3-stars to begin.  I won't go higher and can't go lower without actually gaming, drinking, eating and finding entertainment.  Wait?  Did I even go to Hollywood Casino Columbus?  Sure did and here's my scoop.

Gambling is not my gig but I have to acknowledge the fact if you can't find your game here... then you don't gamble.  Table games galore, slots, high stakes room(s), electronic table games.  Yeah, it's all available.  And while gambling doesn't get my immediate attention, I can see the allure.

Lights, music, glitter, opulence, and all of the trimmings seem in place.  I found the music a bit loud but the casino on a Thursday evening at 9PM was only 1/25th full.  I'll "wager" the music is eventually drown out by slots ringing and people jawing with each other.

There are ample distractions besides gambling.  A near center-of-the-room stage is placed so guest acts can perform.  Nice touch but, again, I'll bet the volume overwhelms the gambling rooms.  The food standards are in place, too.  A steakhouse for high-end dining, a buffet and an assortment of pop-in locations for drinks and bites to eat.

Parking:  Way over the top.  Valet service at the front door.  A huge amount of free parking surrounding 3/4 of the place (with security driving around checking on cars - nice touch) and a paid-parking garage.

Hollywood Casino seems out of place in Columbus if only because it is on the town's westside.  But no matter where it would have been placed - it would appear out of place, I think.  It's worth a visit and I will return to see if I can figure out why gambling is SO HOT.   Put it all on RED!

I dont gamble, but wanted to see the place and get a bite to eat. Valet parking is available for $5, and there is a pay garage as well. Lot parking is free, but be prepared to walk a bit.

I was happy to see they have a strict dress code. No gang colors, floppy pants, offensive language/images and sleeveless shirts.

The place is clean yet outrageous and opulent. Crap tables galore, hundreds of slot machines, roulette tables,  and a separate section with dozens and dozens of poker tables, and this place is loud, and loud everywhere.

Free soft drink stations are located throughout, and there are at least two bars on the floor.

They also have a wing of large convention rooms, and hold concerts as well. Paid ones in the back, and free ones on a medium stage in the sports bar.

Big screen splash TVs everywhere, flashing and spinning lights, gaudy wall dressing...comes across as almost cheesy to me. Somewhat depressive too...watching poor people pouring money into slot machines. I saw one older guy in a wheelchair wearing oxygen working 3 machines at once.

Anyway, the main restaurant is only open for dinner, which leaves you 2 options for lunch...the buffet, or their sports bar "OH". We opted for the buffet. It was good...you could get carved steak, chicken, and turkey and all the sides. They had a Sushi section (nope, didnt eat any...never at a buffet), and Chinese, pizza, and burger stations. There was a HUGE salad bar, and a huge stand alone dessert bar as well.

Some things just dont "buffet" well...like egg rolls and chicken wings, and theirs were no exception. The Balsamic chicken I tried was so dry, I couldnt eat it, however, they had some lightly breaded butterfly shrimp that were really good.

For a buffet, not bad, and while I know its a casino, I wish they had a nicer "sit down" restaurant available for lunch.

We might go back for dinner sometime.

I've never been a big casino fan, but I think they've done a pretty nice job here.  Everything is clean and bright, which naturally goes along with it being new (we'll see if that lasts).  It's nice that there is a concert stage in the middle of the floor so you can see/hear the musical act for free while you gamble.  I wish there were more table games, and that they had lower than $25 minimums, but perhaps in time.  There are plenty of slots...I think too many.  However, many people in this area are new to casinos, and maybe having slots is a safe way to get new people to gamble.  Free fountain soda machines around the exterior is nice, and beer prices aren't bad.  I'll never be a regular, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Now despite the fact I've never been to a casino, I was hoping this place would be cool as my friends and I went to the EnVogue concert. Well...needless to say I was really disappointed.

It reminded me of how women must look at some of the men they date: They make it look huge but in reality it's not. Yah...

It was really crowded inside for obvious reasons, with no where to stand to see the show as whoever constructed the thing has obviously never been to a concert in their life or they would've positioned things a lot different.

I've heard WAY better sound systems in tiny bars than this place. It's like they stuck a shit-brand stereo in it and called it a day with no apparent audio tweaking, bass, good subwoofer or otherwise.

The lines to get your card take forever in a day to get through. Overall, it was tragic. I think the only way I'd return is if I was already drunk and even then, I'm still not certain I could be convinced.

I am not a big gambler and had not planned on visiting the new Columbus casino, but I was bribed into driving some buddies down for the evening.  I expected to be bored and unimpressed, but I was pleasantly surprised.  I loved it and plan on returning a handful of times each year.
It's clean, easy to get in and out of, free to park, free to get in...and best of all: FREE FOUNTAIN DRINKS!  (help yourself)
The minimums at the table games are still way higher than I'm willing to risk, but the casino floor is pretty big, with plenty of other games to play.
I've always been a video poker guy.  When I was at the Cleveland casino, I had a hard time finding any video poker machines and an even harder time finding an open one.  I bet there are 10 times as many video poker machines in Columbus.
I didn't take advantage of any of the eateries and didn't wait around for the band to start playing, but I bet I do one or the other (or both) on a future visit.
If you're against casinos or boycotting the place for one reason or another, I don't hold it against you.  But if you just haven't gotten around to heading down there, you should.  It's pretty fun.  Oh, and lots of cute girls there, too.  ;-)

Pros: Good design, lots of space, looks very nice, plenty of parking

Cons: Far away from everything, high $$ table games, no hotel

I had a great time. Spent less than $40 to play slots for about 3 hours and had 3 liquor based drinks. Not bad in my opinion for every now and then. Also had a free concert that was great....a band I even knew and recognized. I think it's worth going for fun every now and then. Lots of video poker machines too.....which are always fun.

We went on a Friday night and the tables were busy (since there aren't many). However, there are TONS of penny slots, and they are hilariously entertaining!  Space Cows, Airplane, Princess Bride, Haunted House.....funny and totally fun!!

Oh how I've resisted. I'm holding out for the (Harrahs) Horseshoe opening in Cincinnati in March. I like to keep my dollars under one brand because you get more comps that way, and the comps at Hollywood Lawrenceburg are the worst in the business. And it has the tightest slots EVER. And it's smoky as all get out.

Anyway, I finally gave in when my SIL suggested we come here - I didn't have anything else going on that day. So we hit the road for a day trip. This place rises like an oasis in the middle of a shabby industrial area. Gross.

That brings up a good question...why didn't they build downtown where there's hotel rooms and restaurants needing customers? There's no hotels and I didn't see anythings but fast food in this area. They say there will "eventually be a hotel." This won't be anything but a short day trip for many of us until then.

But the casino is clean and there's no smoke. Holy cow. I'm sure there are smoking areas but I didn't come across them. Nice. Unlike others, I found the machines to be user friendly. I played for hours on their money! I usually don't get that much play in a whole day anywhere else. I came home with my budget intact. That's winning in my book.

The casino is laid out in a circle, and if you follow the yellow brick road you'll eventually find what you're looking for. I was just getting the lay of the land when it was time to head back home.

I was told by many others the buffet was gross. Well - did you ever eat at a casino buffet that wasn't gross? I haven't. I settled for a mediocre sandwich in the cafe and yes it was a free lunch (used some of those comps I was earning). There's a gift shop and beverage stations all around, as well as waitresses delivering drinks.

I had a machine malfunction, and waited a short time for someone to come fix it. I had a floor walker, tech, supervisor anbd supervisor's supervisor show up and scratch their heads. They finally hand paid me for the money I had in it, and added comps to my card for my trouble. I've never seen that before. Kudos. I took their comps and won on it. If your not a gambler you don't know how really rare this is.

Even though I'm usually a Blackjack player, it takes time to really win a streak, and I didn't have that time so I didn't even play here. Maybe some other time - like when they have a hotel. Or never once Cincinnati opens. They build within 8 blocks of really nice hotels.

They even gave me a box or Rubbermaid for coming and racking up some points.

Yeah.  When you walk in the door, it feels like Vegas, it looks like Vegas.  I've been to Vegas 17 times in the last 12 years, I know Vegas.

This would be small by "The Strip" standards and large by Downtown Vegas standards.  To get an idea of the look think:  the Golden Nugget meets the Monte Carlo and hangs out with Bally's.  Nice, classy and upscale.  It's not the Wynn or Bellagio and it's also not the Quad / Imperial Palace or Hooter's Casino.

Most everything is laid out on the perimeter of the casino floor.  Huge numbers of slots of all denominations, table games are in the center.

We were greeted very warmly by some very friendly gentlemen who were checking people as they walked in.

Free beverage stations, plenty of restrooms and plenty of opportunities to have some snacks, lunch or dinner are all here.

The gift shop too is very nice.  Smallish but check out those prices.  Plenty of jewelry , scarves, wallets, and various tchotchkes at very reasonable prices.  Extra points there.

Only one minor ding is that the candy bars are priced at $1.50 and 5 Hour Energy for $3.99?!?!?  C'mon guys....Make it cheaper, move them and keep your customers sugared up and caffeinated so they can lose more of their money!

    ( Like I did ).

So, I didn't expect to go to this casino, but, I did go. One night, I dunno, I just felt like driving over and seeing what it was all about. Full disclosure: I'm not much of a casino person. I'm the type of person who likes to go every once in a great while, put $20 in a slot machine, and play until I go broke. I've been to Vegas and to Native American casinos in California, though, and I still feel like the one in Columbus is sub-par.

    Pros:

    - The gift shop. I know, that's a bizarre pro, but it was full of inexpensive but cute gifty things. I almost bought stuff. I might actually go back sometime just to go to the gift shop and poke around without my husband impatiently waiting for me to get finished looking.

    - Um. It's new? And still shiny?

    - If you smoke, there are smoking rooms, so you don't have to go stand outside like a trashy person. That was nice.

    - Ample parking!

    Cons:

    - Slots sucked. They really did. If you play a slot machine with decent odds, you can keep going on a small amount of money for awhile.. you don't expect to WIN, but you win enough to keep playing for awhile, which is really the fun part. Yeah, not here. These slots just eat your money, which makes the whole experience really boring. It deprives you of both the pleasure of winning (no matter how small the win) and the excitement of anticipation of winning, since you know you're probably not gonna.

    - It's kind of small. I know that sounds weird, since it's in that huge building, but for a casino, it's not that big.

    - Buffet was closed at what seemed like a pretty early hour, so we didn't even get to see if we wanted to go. It seemed weird that it would already be closed before 10pm, especially in a building full of people who probably like to eat.

    - Location. The only reason I ever hit the west side is to eat Mexican food. I'll make the drive for that, but not for the casino.

Overall, not my thing. I guess if you have enough cash to lay down at the tables, and you're a card game kind of person, this might be more your venue. If you're like me, a casual who just likes to play a bit but not sink ungodly amounts of money into it, it's not worth a trip.

I went for the first time last night, and I will definitely be returning.  The decor inside is very appealing, and the casino is the right size.  There's enough room for thousands of slots and a lot of table games, but it's not so big that you get lost or lose your sense of direction (although you may be overwhelmed if you are not used to casinos.)  There are information kiosks to help you find your way around or to find a certain game.

There's a big bar/restaurant in the middle with live performances (pretty good acts.  Check the website to see which 90s groups will be playing free concerts there in February.)

I've been to Vegas five times, and I would say Hollywood compares favorably with a mid-tier casino there.  There is your standard casino game fare (blackjack, roulette, different types of poker, etc.), and many slots (although I would not recommend playing the slots...bad odds of winning.)  My main gripe with the casino is that the minimum for bets in still too high ($15 at the lowest).  This is not the Bellagio we are talking about.  This is a casino that should cater to middle class midwestern folks, not the rich.  I would have to risk $45 to bet on craps with 2X odds, and that's way too much for most people on one bet.   Or doubling down in blackjack would cost $30, and that just too big of a risk when most people's gambling budgets will probably be $100-200 for an evening.

Like Vegas, parking is free and ample, and the player's club offers nice perks.  The musical acts that the casino is getting early on are very promising.

It looks like there are some nice places to eat including a fancy steakhouse and a big buffet.

Lastly, it's really cool that free water bottle and soft drinks are offered to casino patrons.  Alcohol is available for purchase, and I would say it is slightly overpriced, but that is to be expected in a place like this.

I'm writing this review from the perspective of the non-gambler.

I think the interior is GORGEOUS--I loved the colors, the fabrics, the architecture.  Such a treat for the eyes.  There are 4 restaurants to select from (which I hope to visit on another trip), ranging from burgers to buffet to steaks to upscale pub food.

Beverage stations with free soda and water are available throughout the facility.

Casino staff are on hand to answer any questions you have and are very friendly.  They look well put-together in terms of attire and grooming and I was impressed by the dealers at the card tables and their ability to shuffle cards and stay focused.

There is a beautiful stage area with a lounge nearby for viewing (one-drink minimum to sit at the tables).  Check out their full website for upcoming local and national acts.  The best news:  the shows are FREE!

Plenty of TVs throughout the facility to catch up on sports.

You can choose to pre-load a card with cash and there are ATMs and change-making machines throughout the building (exercise good judgement here).

I went on a Sunday evening (7:30-ish) and didn't have a problem with parking.  There are lots, as well as a garage.  There is a VIP parking area, but I'm not sure how you get to use that.

I plan to return in a few weeks for one of their free concerts, and perhaps for dinner.

I think it's worth a visit, even if you're not one for gambling.

We went on a Saturday night for dinner at the OH Sports Bar and a little gambling.

Our waitress was friendly enough, but it took forever to get drinks, and the food took even longer....The chef came out to apologize, and told us they would comp some of our bill and send out some appetizers.  We had already eaten the appetizers we ordered, so I wasn't really in the mood for more appetizers, I just wanted my salad.  As for comping part of the bill, they took a whopping $3 off our bill.  We waited roughly an hour and a half from when we placed our orders until we got our food.  And all is to be forgiven because we saved three dollars on a $52 bill.

The shining star on the experience is that they painted their parking garage with water-based paint....The humidity caused this paint to drip all over the hood of my friend's car!!

Definitely a nice, flashy casino inside and out. TONS of slot machines and some entertainment here and there (live bands, tvs with sports games, etc.) However, not a fan of the $25 table minimums!! Supposedly they are $15 during the weekdays, but still... Also, the ATM fees are ridiculous. It's a total $6 surcharge so make sure you bring ALL that you are willing to lose upon arriving! Unfortunately for us it was a spontaneous trip and so we all had to pay the fees anyway.

Obviously this place doesn't hold a candle to anything you'll find in Vegas, but it gets the job done. I just wish they would enforce their so-called "dress code". There is a sign stating one at the entrance, but looking around on a Friday night makes me wonder.... I'm not saying people need to be all glitzed out, but at least in reasonable "Oh yea, I'm going out in public" attire would be nice.... Anyway, free parking is always a plus, and since a lot of people in our group were playing the slots given the $25 tables, a couple people won quite a few times (surprisingly!). 1 friend in particular won $90 after spending $1.50 on the penny slot!

I finally made it out to the *new* Hollywood casino.  While I'm not a big gambler or casino aficionado, I have to say "meh."

Other regional casinos in the mid-west seem to do a much better job of blending in the Casino with shopping, a hotel, other entertainment, etc . . . .  at Hollywood, you're either there to gamble, eat or drink.  On the drinking front, the beer selection at the random bar stations is pathetic, unless you like Bud, Bud Light, Miller . . etc. etc.

On the gambling front, it seemed like an overwhelming sea of slots with very few tables (other than black jack or the poker room).  The variety of games you would see in Vegas just isn't here.

We hit the casino on a Saturday night, which meant all black jack tables had a $25 minimum bet.  Since slots bore me to tears, this was a tough pill to swallow.  I set my loss limit at $200, which meant one bad 5 minute streak and I was out of there . . . so much for making a night of it.  While I did end up winning a few hundred, even that good outcome isn't enough to make we want to visit the far west side again.

Finally - my biggest casino pet peeve - while they are all too willing to give you chips for cash, they make it very difficult for you to leave.  The line to cash my chips in was 20 minutes long.  Thanks for treating me like a winner!

If this was about people watching, I'd give it five stars.  Since it's about the gambling, the facilities and the operations, I have to go with two.

Some friends and I have been talking about checking out the new Hollywood Casino for a number of weeks now; we finally made it over there last night.  We went around 6 p.m. and found the traffic pattern to be a little confusing when arriving.  Once we parked, we didn't quite know where the entrance was and ended up going into a side door. When entering, it was loud and bright - both were expected.  Now, of the 5 of us who went, we had all been to a casino before, but only 2 of the 5 of us were regular visitors of casinos. We walked around to get a feel for layout and there were slot machines galore!  The restaurants were spread out pretty nicely and they had a few sections of tables for play.

We stuck to the slot machines and found all of us commented on how racists the slot machine names and graphics were.  After being there for a couple hours and continuously seeing said slot machines it was kind of getting to our friends who were of a different nationality.

We tried various slot machines and, to be honest, I had no clue how a few slot machines really worked - or when you won.  So, I held out until we tried the video poker.  They had a few video poker slot machines intermixed throughout the floor, but we found a handful of them that were $.25, perfect! Video poker it is!  I, personally, had a great time here, although I ended up losing a whole $2.00, I at least knew how to play and felt I had a little more say than just pushing a button and hope images line up.  After about an hour of video poker, we headed back to the penny slots.  I feel it's important to note that although they say they are penny slots, they really aren't... there are a number of them where the minimum bet is 30x or 150x; therefore they are more than a penny (technically).  I ended up losing a few extra dollars on these slots and feel they shouldn't be called penny slots if the minimum bet is $.30 or $1.50.

After staying for about 3 hours, we had enough.  A couple of us didn't even spend the amount we planned (a whole $20!) as we couldn't find slots (except the video poker) we cared to play.  Two people in our group broke even and one lost a little bit.

I will agree with past reviewers - the casino was very clean (including the washrooms); they had free soda stations around the casino; I looked for the place to sign up for their rewards card and didn't see the stand/booth; and the decor was pretty nice - I liked the huge banners hanging from the ceiling of hollywood movies/stars.

Overall, it was nice to try and visit, but it isn't a place I will be going back regularly.  I am VERY glad that the casino was moved to the west side and was not built in the Arena District.

I am a huge fan of gambling.  I've been to Vegas six times.  But I don't think I'll be gambling too much at Hollywood Casino.  There's a difference between spending money you've set aside for vacation, and spending money that you need to pay bills.

That said, Hollywood Casino has the same look, feel and sounds (ching-ching-ching) of a Vegas casino.  Not the elegance of Bellagio or Wynn, perhaps, but one of the lower-grade casinos like Rio, maybe.  I've certainly never seen a coat check in a Vegas casino, but I suppose that's a necessity in Ohio.  No Vegas casino has free, serve-yourself Coke fountains, either.  But I'm told the (alcoholic) drinks aren't free here like they are in Sin City; I didn't attempt to get one.

I don't typically play table games, and I'm sure not going to start here, with $15 minimum bets.  That's ridiculous.  This is Columbus.  The minimums should be $5 at the most.  (I laughed when I walked past the high-limits room last night and noticed not a soul was in there.)  There are multitudes of slot machines (though if there are any with actual reels, I didn't notice), and plenty of video poker (my favorite game, though I didn't see any with progressive jackpots... lame).  There are a couple of electronic roulette stations.  I didn't see any of the more interesting electronic games you see everywhere in Vegas, like electronic roulette with a physical spinning wheel, Deal or No Deal, etc.

I still can't believe Ohio voted to move the casino from its planned location downtown, to the barren west side.  It's quite out of place there.  Badly done, Ohio.  But in a way, I'm glad, because now I won't be tempted to visit anymore.

I've been to a number of casinos both in and out of Vegas.  So I was eager to check out the brand new Hollywood Casino in Columbus.  Unfortunately, I wasn't as excited after the visit.

Pros: I won $50 twice on a $1 slot machine.

    Cons:
    - No hotel.  Not sure if they plan on adding one.

    - I am used to being able to walk up to the bars on a casino floor and get a bottle of water.  However, when I went to the bar here they looked at me for a second like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.  Then she said I'd have to get something like that from one of the waitresses walking around.  Very odd.  After it started getting later and busier, they opened up some small beer stations on the casino floor.  While I found that 1 of these did stock bottles of water, the other one did not.

    - Getting a rewards card was odd.  They didn't have an obvious location to do so.  Instead it was off the casino floor down a hallway in an event center room using a temporary set up.  The signs made it a little easier to find, but still it was odd and confusing seeing as most people kept trying to go in through the exit door (they eventually had to dedicate an employee to assist people with this).  Hopefully this process/location will be changed once they are opened longer.

    - When I first arrived it was early afternoon on a Saturday (around 1 or 2 pm).  Being a Saturday, I didn't expect to find a $5 roulette table (though it would've been nice), but being so early on a Saturday I did expect at least find a $10 table.  Nope.  They had multiple $25 tables but only a single $15 minimum table, which as you can imagine was obviously completely full and had a line.  I'm not sure if they are just trying to capitalize on being new, but I found it a bit ridiculous not to have a $10 table so early in the day, or at least open up another $15 table to meet demand.

    - As a follow up to the roulette table, I went in search of an electronic roulette game.  In many casinos today, they will have a nice fancy roulette game that uses an actual spinning wheel and ball surrounded by touchscreens for players to sit at.  Being a brand new casino, that's what I expected.  Nope.  They had the old school single electronic roulette game which is basically like sitting at a slot machine.  And there were only 3 or 4 of them at that.

Bottom line: While I would say I'd like to go back and try the restaurants/buffet, with Hollywood in Indiana being closer and the Cincinnati casino opening soon, I really don't have a desire to make the trip back up there just for the casino.  Maybe if I'm ever in the area I'll stop by to visit that $1 slot machine again ;)

I've been to the casino now 3 times and I think its a fun stop! I am NOT by any means a gambler, but its a great place to people watch and have a very tasty overpriced martini. I really like the "old hollywood" style, and 50's is perfect for this part of town. I really wish some more businesses would start popping up and turn the hilltop around! They say it used to be like Grandview down here back in the day.

It has 4 star potential, but only 3 stars will be awarded for now.

Everything is brand new; touch-screen 3D slots, huge ass TVs, carpet doesn't show traffic, and even the dealers are new and could use a couple helpful hints from Vegas dealers (as in count right and speed the heck up). I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. Table games are slow, the dealers aren't smooth and quick, but I'm sure it will come in time. The pit bosses take their time to check people in or color up/out, which can be frustrating.

The decor is great and the OH bar in the middle is cool. There's a stage and a band was playing on the night that I went (Tuesday). The TVs around this bar and a couple other places in the casino are stadium size. They're ridiculously large and high quality picture, I want one for my living room, but I'm not sure I have a big enough house. Bottle domestics were running $4, even if you were playing. I didn't hear about any free drinks (besides soda), like they do in Vegas. Table minimums were $15, but only a few are this low (and always packed), most are $25. The slots range from .01 to $1, but there might be even more expensive ones somewhere else, but I didn't care to look. They have a poker tournament room and high stakes room. There are 4 places to eat, ranging from decent buffet to high-end steakhouse. There were plenty of ticket/cash machines and ATMs. Plenty of parking and most of it was well-lit. There aren't any hotel rooms here, but I think it would be a nice addition.

    Good luck.

Def not a Vegas casino, tho its trying hard to appear like one.

Be advised no one under 21 can be there, so leave your kids at home parents.

Somewhat confusing parking, tho free.DO NOT FALL FOR THE PARKING ACROSS THE STREET!

They sorta alienated the people that visited the first 30 days as now they are offering free play to those that sign up for their rewards card yet I've heard nothing about those of us that signed up before they announced it.

Hope the place makes it or its going to be a huge blow to the city as they are banking SO much on it

I am very impressed with the Hollywood Casino in Columbus.  I am not a big gambler but did enjoy the slots.  There are plenty of slots from 1 penny and up. Additionally, the "Epic Buffet" was top notch.  The food was good and fresh and the dining atmosphere was perfect.  One of the best parts of the casino is that there are NO KIDS.

I've been to casinos all over the US and one in the UK.  and this was the easiest parking, cleanest, and gloriously smoke free casino I've ever been in.  Not a smoke free over on this side but the fumes get to you anyway - totally smoke free!!!  LOVED IT!
Bathrooms were clean, big screen tvs on the wall, friendly staff and I actually left with more than I came in with (not a lot but I didn't go into the hole)  Tons of machines from penny on up and loads of places to eat at.  Will be back!

Well, it doesn't have the character (or free drinks) of Las Vegas, but this is a large, new, well done casino.  The interior theme is classic Hollywood, so lots of video screens and posters celebrating stars and their most famous movie appearances.  Also lots of video screens with sports, etc.  The vast majority of the space are state-of-the-art gaming terminals (ie. slot machines with multiple game options).  Also table games, and if you look hard, video poker.
Overall, I thought its a pretty good effort.  A few dining options, including the mandatory buffet. Soft drinks available for free while you play.  Alcohol available at various stations around the floor for sale.

It's beautiful and huge! Wear comfortable but cute shoes, and be prepared to take in the"sites".

I liked it! Yes, they're still new and learning. Yes, their minimum table bets start at $15. Yes, I wish they had $5 tables and dealers who knew what they were doing. But, when I walked in this place it looked and felt like Vegas (minus the smoking, which is a bonus). That's what they advertised and that's what they delivered.

Tons of slots! Great sports watching in o.h. (see my review). Lots of table games (if you can afford them). Beautiful decor, clean restrooms, nice staff, good food. I was entertained; period!

Best part: I felt like I wasn't in Ohio. I'll be back!

Update: I emailed the Casino contact, Lauren, to ask if/when the table limits might come down to $10 or $5. (I  also told her what a great experience we had.) She was very polite and receptive, but explained they'd remain at $15 and $25 unless there was a decline in table play. So, people, if you want lower limits, stop playing the high limits :)

I haven't seen this many people at one place in Franklin County outside of an OSU football game. It is crazy... an oasis of lights in the middle of the badlands of Broad Street. Facility was nicer than I expected. However, too many people, table minimums are too high, traffic patterns confusing, long waits at all the restaurants and almost impossible to get a drink. There is no opportunity to people watch unless you want to get run over. I will likely check it out again once things die down.

Crowded...too many slot machines, and the table minimums are too high.
Very pretty inside, free fountain drinks (Beers are $3-5/each), and typically a band is playing for free too.

This is not so much a review of the Casino, but of one of the restaurants.  I went out for a girl's night to the casino, and, of course, that included dinner.  Some of us are on a budget, so we chose the mid-price restaurant, O-H.

We signed in, and they told us we'd get a text message when our table was ready.  About 20 minutes later, we got a text message saying our table was almost ready, so we waited about 5 minutes and then headed over.  Well, 20 minutes later, we were still waiting to be seated. Then, when we did finally get seated, we waited another 20 minutes before our server even acknowledged us.  We got our beverages relatively quickly, but those who were drinking mixed drinks complained that they were quite weak.

It took about 45 minutes for us to get our food, which was very tasty.

It took forever (again) to get our checks.  I realize that they are still working out the bugs in their system, but none of the servers seemed to be in a hurry.  They just didn't seem to care.

So, we got to the Casino about 5:30, but didn't make it out to the gambling floor until about 8:30!!

We will probably go back to the Casino, but we'll definitely have dinner elsewhere.

Eh, I kind of hate casinos. They're so depressing. When we went the people working the tables were still learning so it was kind of awkward and I felt bad for them. I know they will get the hang of it but I remember seeing a woman yelling at a worker because she made a mistake.

I'm not too sure about the crowd this location brings either. I guess that's what you get when you build a casino so far away from the city. How cool would this place have been if it was built near the Huntington baseball field? So cool!

Maybe we will try this place one more time in the months to come. I do like slot machines.

My first Yelp review and it's not a good one!   This casino needs months to figure out what they are doing.  I've been there twice in the past 2 weeks and both times it left a horrible taste in my mouth.  I have attended on opening day and on a Saturday night.  I'm a table gambler.  I'll never touch the slots, so I can't review those.  What amazes me is the Cleveland one was great and I've heard Toledo is good too!

Opening night.  I played roulette and blackjack.  First, the table min was $15 for roulette, which I thought was ok, especially for opening day.  The first thing I noticed was the dealer had no idea what he/she was doing.  There were 3 occasions where I had won, but the dealer removed my money from the table and didn't pay me.  Each of those times I had to call the pit boss over and get paid.  There were 2 times where the dealer didn't pay out enough.   Again, had to call the pit boss over.  This was happening to people other than myself, so I wasn't special.  I walked over to blackjack to give it a try. $20 min.  Ok, a little richer than I like, but what the heck.  First thing I noticed was this dealer couldn't count to 21.  The person next to me had 17 and the dealer thought he had 28 and busted him, removing his cards.  A long discussion later and he was able to get paid (dealer busted).  Ohh, and you are able to touch your cards in black jack from the start?  I've never been to a casino where that's allowed.  After losing $200 I decided to call it a day.

Fast forward to last Saturday night.  I stopped in after a night out, just for a few minutes to meet a friend.  Roulette was my first stop. $25 min table.  A little more than I like!  I decided to place a $25 chip on 11 and $25 on black, but NO i wasn't allowed to play the black because the dealer wasn't able to keep track of multiple bets!  What the heck kind of place is this?  You don't want my money?  Walked over to craps and all I hear is people bitching because the dealers keep missing bets.  My friends had to wait 3 hours for a table at dinner because the bar wasn't first come first serve?  5 seats open at the bar and they weren't allowed to sit there for dinner.

Long story short, this place is a joke.  They should have brought in some talent to run the tables while the newbies learn.  I won't be going back for a few months.  I love casinos, but not this place.

This is a beautiful casino! They did a fantastic job however, I don't think I'll go there as much as I would if it was located downtown.  I hope more businesses open in the area so we can start calling it the"casino district".

As it turns out, I don't like casinos. They are loud, oddly lit, crowded places that want nothing more than to see you go broke so they can make their money.

But, since I don't know much about them, as I've only been to this one, I'll give the casino a fair shot at 3 stars. It was nicely decored and extremely clean (makes sense since it's so new).

Finally for the casino lover, we don't have to travel out of town for the casino. No smoking world class casino in town
