As a new resident of Anderson, I've been searching for a place to get a decent meal. It hasn't been easy. Â Someone recommended Homestretch Steakouse, and I figured, what the hell - casino food can't be any worse than what I've eaten in town so far. Â What a nice surprise. Â Service was great and the food was fantastic. Â All 6 of us really enjoyed entrees, sides and deserts. Â We'll be going back. The only downside is that you are in a casino with a racetrack...or is it a racetrack with a casino? So the dining room is littered with TV monitors showing horse racing which is a little distracting. Overall it's the best place to get a nice meal I've found in town so far.
Review Source:I hosted a surprise birthday party here this weekend. I had 27 guests. The manager and i created a menu that suited my guests tastes. Each guest ordered from the pre set menu with their individual preference for how they wanted their main dish prepared (rare, medium etc.) Each meal was perfectly prepared, service was outstanding and the food itself was outstanding. I live in New Jersey and the event was just after Superstorm Sandy. The manager was very understanding of the difficulties I was having organizing the event in the middle of a catastrophe. His help, the great food and a wonderful wait staff made for a perfect evening for everyone. I highly recommend the Homestretch.
Review Source:This is my first visit to Hoosier Downs, or to an active horse track for that matter.  They had several restaurants, but we chose the upscale steakhouse.  The entrees were as good as any restaurant I have been to.  I did not like the LOUD amplified music.  It was interesting to watch the harness racing.  I was amazed at the number of number of politically connected persons I saw there  that night.  You CAN get to the restaurant without going through the casino if you enter from the south doorways.
