I don't write much reviews, but had to write this one.  This is about as good as it gets.  Ha Thomas is the master chef and restaurateur.  Hal is extremely conscious of the quality and integrity of  his food.  Everything is fresh and tastes great.  Organic, natural and top grade seems to be the only thing you will find here.  The BBQ is hands down the best I have ever had.  His sauces and sides are just right.  He seems to be a master of building flavors and seasoning.  Hops & Vines is truly one of those special places that is well worth making the trip to.  I guarantee that once you walk into this restaurant / store, you will fall in love with.  I know that  I would eat here 7 days a week, if I could.Review Source:
I love finding great hidden gems in Virginia. This is located in a small town of Paeonian Springs. They have great outdoor sittings and offer huge selection of beer/wine.
Hal, the owner, is very knowledgeable about his products and makes great recommendations. Their food is amazingly good and everything is made from scratch.
I especially enjoyed their pulled chicken sandwich. It was most and delicious.
We had the beef brisket, chicken, and pulled pork barbecue for a company picnic, along with the potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans sides. I'm usually not a huge fan of barbecue, but everything that we got from Hops & Vines was delicious. I was actually probably the most surprised by the baked beans - I usually find that they're overly sweet and don't really have a lot of flavor, but I actually went for seconds of these.
I think that overall, even though everything was good, the things that stood out the most to me were the beef brisket/pulled pork and the AMAZING baked beans. Definitely worth a try!
As a side note, as the same suggests, they do sell beer and wine - at a very reasonable price - for carryout.
