Ester is gone but the tradition lives on.
Pay tribute to her by frequenting Hornet's Nest... as the quality continues on.
Small town friendly counter and table service,
Very good unpretentious simple home-made drive-in food.
Had lunch here twice while visiting from California.
I had:
- Double bacon cheese burger, a "1950's" tasty version.
- Ester's special breaded onion rings were very good (tho' I like batter fried)
- Seasoned curly fries.
Others in my group had: Taco Salad - simple and tasty and different hamburgers and cheeseburgers. Â
Don't look for fancy here (Taco salad was not in a fried flour tortilla bowl). No complaints from the five of us.
I was too full to try home-made apple pie (it looked great). If it is there when you visit depends on the season and ...who knows.
Not many places like this still exist.
