This place just gave me an overall bad vibe.
A coworker and I dropped in for lunch a couple days back. Â They have chicken legs instead of chicken wings, and they're sold either as a pair or a basket. Â The pair is exactly what it sounds like - 2 chicken legs for $3. Â What a deal, right? Â If that's not enough for you, you can pay $6 to get 2 chicken legs and fries. Â Assuming these must be turkey legs since no reasonable person would ever pay $1.50+ per chicken wing, I asked and was told they are "medium to large in size". Â So that's out. Â Admittedly I didn't try it, but this is exactly how it was described to me by the waitress.
The waitress (who randomly wandered off and disappeared for large chunks of time) recommended something off the $5.99 lunch menu, so I went with the chicken tenders and fries with a water. Â This also comes with a side of sauce.
The food came, and I had one tender broken into three pieces. Â They resembled three small chicken nuggets. Â I guess I can't complain for $5.99, but come on. Â A kid's meal comes with more. On the plus side, it tasted okay.
My coworker got an avocado burger. Â He said it was okay, nothing great. Â So there's not much to say about that.
My coworker's wife went with the popcorn shrimp, also off the $5.99 menu. Â The portion size was generous, but the taste was terrible. Â She only ate a few pieces before giving up, so I tried a piece thinking she was just full. Â It was burnt. Â The consistency and appearance was perfect, not tough or rubbery, but it had a very strong burnt taste. Â I don't even know how this is possible, and no one at the table could figure it out. Â
The check came and the two $5.99 meals were $6.98 each. Â The water was listed as $0.00, so who knows where the extra dollar was from. Â I would have asked why, but the waitress disappeared for another 15 minutes so we left. Â It's pretty unlikely any of us will be back.
