For years, Humpy's has been one of my "must visit" spots when I'm in Ft. Lauderdale. I was glad to see on my recent visit that they've maintained that status. And now that I've had a chance to sample real NY pizza in NYC, I'm glad to know that this is as close an approximation as I've found in Florida.

Their weekday lunch deal is great -- a slice, a side salad and a soda for $5. It was just the right amount of "filling" before hitting the road to come back north. This time, I opted just for simple cheese pizza, but it had the right amount of greasiness, the right crisp to the crust, and the right consistency for folding to simplify consumption. (And to think I used to try plastic-fork-and-knifing this deliciousness.)

I'm not sure when "Humpy's Cupcakes" became a thing; I don't recall them from the past. I didn't indulge this time, but perhaps on a longer stay in the future.

It just doesn't get much better than this!!

Let's just say, some of the best NY style pizza we've had in Florida.  Fresh, crust is perfectly done, slightly crispy, you can see the pizza cooking in the oven.

We tried the cupcakes, decent but much better ones down the street at the Fresh Market (try the peanut butter ones!)

Top shelf pizza, grab the coupon on the website that gets you two large pizzas for $20. A steal...

This is my favorite pizza place in Fort Lauderdale since Bellini's closed.  I'm smitten with their pepperoni pizza.  They deliver, but it's better to get your slices right out of the oven.

The cupcakes are really really disappointing and taste like they've been in the refrigerator for days.

The pizza is really good though, it's a great value, AND you can support a high quality local business, instead of a crappy corporate pizza chain!

Ordered two slices of pre-made pizza (in their glassed display).  First slice was very tasty; however, the second slice was cold and blah.  Seemed as if they were advertising their "specialty" cupcakes more than anything else there.  Relatively friendly counter folks; although the tatted dyke wasn't very friendly or service-oriented.  Oh, well, such is the stereotype....  :(

So, I live in NYC but have deep roots in Ft. Lauderdale and have been coming to Humpy's over the years (way before I was Yelping).  While I haven't experienced many pizza places in the Ft. Lauderdale area, I can tell you that Humpy's is about as close as a place can get to being a New York style pizza establishment in South Florida.  Their pies are pretty good, and the crust is crispy & thin and was hand tossed (requirements for New York style pizza).  The slices are a generous size, and they don't skimp on the toppings.

They also offer a variety of other things such as pasta, sandwiches & paninis...  But this is a pizza shop first & foremost.  Why bother if you're not coming for the star attraction?!  :-)  Humpy's also seems to be popular for their cupcakes, and while I can't knock the pizza (solid 4 stars out of 5), the cupcakes were a little disappointing (if the owner is reading this, next time you go back to NYC, check out Two Little Red Hens in the UES).

Fun place, good value, nice staff...  My preferred spot for pie when I'm away from home.

HUMPY'S... I LOVE YOU. MARRY ME?

    kthx,
    Greg

Ok now that we're passed that, on to the review, shall we? I can't tell you how many times I've quite literally STUMBLED in here ready sit down and fall asleep face first in a slice of pie. When you're out for a night on the town, this is where you go to collect yourself again, and you do this over a slice of pizza, maybe even some DELICIOUS toasted ravioli, and without a doubt... A CUPCAKE. WOOOOOWIE are those cupcakes out of this freaking world! Be it red velvet, chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream (all my favorites) I can never decide.

I need to give some of the staff special props for really making me feel welcome when I stop in. Their staff is second to none, but Daria and James are the best people in there. I seriously love you guys.

While this is your typical pizza joint, add in a little gay pizzazz to the name, an amazing staff, and some BOMB DIGGITY cupcakes and you have a restaurant worthy of 5 stars in my book!

The staff is great, the pizza is pre-cooked ( you can order fresh) and gets a little too cooked, dry crust, it's crispy, but it's dry.  For the price I think I would rather go somewhere else.  I will give them another try, but I will order a whole pizza next time.  I felt like the main focus might have been on the cupcakes.  I'll have to try the cup cakes some day when I'm passing by again.

I had the big salad bowel with a slice of pizza. The service was good and there is both patio and indoor dinning. The pizza was OK but when it comes to pizza I tend to be fussy being Italian but I have to admit that some of the pizza in Rome was not as good.I was there with some friends , so I enjoyed the dinning experience  along with my friends. .

Pizza is very good and wait time on a Friday night is minimal (at least from my experience). The wheat crust is great and the ingredients taste fresh. The only criticism I could offer is that it was a little too greasy and they were a bit stingy with the pepperoni, but we were satisfied overall and will order from them again.

I was walking around today thinking of where to go for lunch, and Humpys was one of the places I haven't tried yet even though I always laugh at the name when I pass it. Its a cool little place with a good array of items and some unique flavors of pizza. Admittedly I probably should have tried the pizza, but for some reason I was feeling a soup and sandwich. I ordered the broccoli potato cheddar soup and a chicken pesto panini. I then saw the selection of cupcakes and my fat ass decided a dessert was in order. I then purchased a red velvet cupcake, because apparently I didn't have enough already. Although the service was friendly, I would note that one of the employees was handling some of the food with bare hands, which is usually a big no-no in the food industry. I wasn't feeling that diva though, so I didn't mention anything (plus he was already being berated by the manager - I think he was new).

Now for the food itself: I would say that everything was good, but nothing particularly blew me away, but I would say my favorite was probably that cupcake (spoken like a future diabetic). The soup would have been great, but the vegetables were still a little crunchy, which some people might love, but I genereally prefer them fully cooked in soups. Also the cheese wasn't really melty and gooey like it usually gets. Definitely wasn't bad at all though. The sandwich was generously portioned (it was 8 dollars with the soup and a breadstick) and was grilled perfectly. Again, it wasn't bad at all, but I felt there was something lacking. Maybe some heat or more pesto for a little more burst of flavor. I loved the cupcake, it was a great ending to the meal.

I would recommend trying it, and would want to go back sometime to try the pizza and/or pasta. Hope I made you food-horny for Humpy's.

Food is amazing! Everything is always very fresh, and the staff is super friendly. We ordered delivery one night and they actually called to tell us they would be late. If you order the BBQ chx pizza though, ask them to go light on the sauce. Make sure you try a cupcake!!!

When you drive for 10 hours away from your hometown and haphazardly choose a restaurant to patronize, you'll typically either have a good time or at least have a good story to tell afterwards.  Now that I've dined at Humpys Pizza & Panini, I have both.  Somewhat amused by the name, 3 friends and I happened upon Humpys, unaware that we would be the proverbial strangers in a strange land.  Within 2 or 3 minutes of driving into The Shoppes of Wilton Manors, we all noticed that, conspicuous by their absence, there were no women in sight.  NONE.  Upon seeing the Gay Mart adjacent to Humpys, as well as an eye-catchingly tall gentleman in drag directly across the street, we all had an epiphany and collectively uttered, "Ohhhhh."  At that point, given that none of us are particularly intolerant of the gay community, our consensus was that we should not be deterred provided that the food is good.  And yes, the food is, dare I say, FABULOUS.

I'm not a fan of pizza-by-the-slice.  To me, that simply means that pizza has been sitting out all day and that slices are merely reheated to order.  Thankfully, my friends and I wanted to try uncommon varieties, and because our tastes were out-of-the-ordinary, our pizzas were made to order.  In addition to an extra large supreme pizza, my group also ordered another extra large pie that was half shrimp scampi and half bacon bleu cheeseburger.  There was no additional fee for having one of our pies prepared as half and half, plus we took advantage of their promotional deal of buy one pizza, get the second half off.  FYI:  Humpys features a buy one, get the second half off deal for their pastas too.  When our pair of NY style pies arrived at our table, we were all impressed by both the look and taste of our pizza.  And when I brought the leftovers back to my hotel, some of the other guests were likewise impressed by the slice I was eating while riding the elevator up to my room.

The terms "gay" and "pride" go hand in hand.  Humpys Pizza & Panini is proud to be voted as "best pizza in South Florida," proud to be "gay friendly," and seemingly especially proud of their cupcakes.  As outstanding as their made to order pizza is, Humpys really wants you to try their "Hump-a-licious" cupcakes.  I'm so glad that we did because the cupcakes at Humpys are EXCELLENT.  In fact, we were initially only to sample our cupcakes and eat the majority at our next destination, but after our first bites, there was no turning back.  We voraciously gobbled up those cupcakes like gay men gobble up, well, you get the idea.  Moreover, upon finishing, we all agreed that we just ate the best cupcakes that any of us have ever tried.  Then, like a calorie-counting yo-yo dieting woman, I hated myself just a little bit.

Unlike us, it appeared that the men walking around this gay part of town were all in good shape and financially well-to-do.  Then I remembered that unlike us "breeders," gay men don't have children to drain them physically, emotionally, and financially.  It's now obvious to me that with all their spare time and disposable income, this gay community hits the gym, can afford fancy cars, and has devoted the time necessary to have perfected the cupcake.  And so, despite not fitting in and having been correctly identified as tourists, I would not be ashamed to return to Humpys.  Pizza, cupcakes, and proud of it!

My partner and I stopped in here late at night on our last evening visiting Florida, a friend recommended it so we went. The pizza was excellent but who would have thought the best cupcake I've ever had would be at a pizza joint. We'll be back on our next trip out that way!

The pizza isn't the best I've ever had, but it hit the spot before my impromptu bar crawl. The mural on the wall made me smile when I walked inside. I didn't have to look any farther to know I was in Wilton Manors.

A slice of pepperoni was almost $3.00, which seems expensive. I guess you could probably get a better deal if you ordered an entire pie. They have several different options and many unique varieties that I wish I had time to try.

Located in the heartland of the very gay Shoppes of Wilton Manor strip mall is Humpy's Pizza. It's a fast counter service establishment but offers some really good pizza along with various daily specials at bargain prices. For example, I ordered their chilled gazpacho soup and for less than $3.00 ended up with an entire bowl of some of the best Andalusian style gazpacho I've ever had. What an amazing delight that was!

The staff is friendly, the service is fast, the food is particular good and all at a very reasonable price.

On several occasions I've been in and witnessed the owner being rude to customers. Yesterday I experienced this first hand. You were disrespectful, and clearly need a lesson or two on running a successful business. Infact, thank you... We walked over to Manor and had a great dinner with great service... including a visit to our table by the manager making sure everything was going well.

The food here is very fresh, and tasty. As soon as you walk in you can't help noticing how spotless Humpy's is. Not one table had an item misplaced, not one crumb found anywhere. The menu consists of pizza and sandwiches. I ordered a chicken pesto chibatta it was great. The chicken was grilled and not over cooked, they didn't over do it on the pesto either. The best thing is the sandwich was not messy. I definitely enjoyed my sandwich, I wonder how the pizza is.

Clean, spacious, quick & with a side of sass. Just the way I like my pizza!

Shared a large pizza for $13 with a group of 6 of my friends and we all inhaled it pretty quick. Just the right amount of cheese to make it gooey but not so much that it feels like you are chewing on a piece of taffy. It's pretty hard to screw up a plain old cheese pizza and the folks at Humpy's didn't disappoint.

My only complaint is that they serve water straight out of the faucet. Like, room temperature faucet water. Yuck! Next time I think I'll splurge the extra buck or two and get a soda.

Oh I also heard their cupcakes are delicious so I may leave some room in my ever growing belly for one or two of those!

Been here a couple times now and have not been disappointed yet. The service here is amazing, there's a friendly (& gay!) atmosphere and they clean up your table every 5 minutes, nice & neat! The pizza ain't too shabby either. So far the Supreme has been a favorite for my friends & family. The veggies & meat are fresh and it's not too heavy/greasy.

My favorite thing about this place is that they offer a honey wheat, multigrain or regular crust pizza. For those of us watching our figure, it really helps to have those options. Also, low fat mozzarella. And it tastes just as good as regular mozzarella. They have some unique toppings like turkey sausage (which is great for calorie counters as well). There also some pretty affordable specials, which is really the way to go here because they are a bit pricy (hence the four stars instead of five). On Wednesday nights a 16" with two toppings is only $7 and during the week they have a $5 lunch special including a pizza slice, salad & coke.

I can't wait to come back & try all the different pizzas on their menu. And I hear their cupcakes (especially the red velvet & the carrot cake ones) are amazing.

Great pizza from a guy who KNOWS what he's doing!  Healthy options abound.  He will make your pizza any way you want it.  Mine was half red sauce & half pesto.  The pesto is marvelous, as is everything else.  It's all homemade, too, even the cupcakes!  Nothing overpriced - he could charge a lot more & it would still be a great value.  Easy parking in a medium-sized strip mall.  Nice, clean restaurant.  Happy vibe.  Spotless restrooms!

The atmosphere is great. The pizza is average at best. They are also too light on the sauce. You pay for atmosphere and it is more expensive than most.

I'm glad the flelp was removed.

    Cliff notes:
    Humpy's is not great.
Expensive by the slice and reasonably priced by the pie.
Get's three stars because, in Fort Lauderdale, there are many other pizzerias that are just as good and some are better.
Humpy's cupcakes are pretty good, oddly enough.

    Extended version:
Since when are spinach clippings an ingredient in pizza? I understand a good amount of spinach, but shavings sprinkled on top? What exactly do those shavings add to the pie? Certainly not flavor, aroma, nutrition nor dietary fiber. OK, maybe a little color; but basil does exactly the same thing and it brings other good stuff to the table as well.

Why am I making such a big deal about this? I'm not. Just using it as a metaphor for Humpy's. The place is clean. The service is friendly. The pies look very neatly made. However, scratch the pretty surface and there's nothing special about the food. Adding sun-dried tomatoes that have not been reconstituted doesn't make a pizza special.

I can't think of another establishment in the area that sells pizza by the slice, so if you are looking for a quick bite to eat after your manscaping, this is the place to go!

The pizza here may not have the charred crust you may envision from a New York pizzeria. If you pick up a slice, it probably would look soggy.

But the truth is, the whole wheat crust tasted so good, and the health options here are plentiful. I had the turkey pizza that comes with spiced turkey sausage, red onions, and basil - and substituted red sauce for extra cheese. It was soooo good - but the prices are a little too much. For a 14" pie, it came out to be nearly $17 dollars. Because of the hefty price, I had to deduct it a star.

But you'll be happy to get pizza from here.

How could you resist? It's called "Humpy's."

Come for the novelty, stay for the delicious pizza.

Extra (invisible) star for the hilarity of my sister being the only woman in the joint.

Extra-extra (extra-invisible star) for all the shops in the plaza with names about as subtle as "Humpy's."

I love, love, love, love Humpy's Pizza. It's the best pizza I have had in FLL. The crust is nice and thin, the toppings are fresh and vary from more gourmet, such as wild mush, carmelized onion, and truffle oil, to good old fashioned pepperoni. Yummy!

Good late-night slice to cap a night out at the gay strip mall. Friendly staff, open late. At closing on Friday night, we got free slices from the adorable and somewhat embarrassed teen at the counter: "Hey Straightguy -- how 'bout those leftover slices?"
