Yay Iron Skillet!   Diner food is the best for road trips and I love stopping by here along I-95.  It's built into a Petro Truck Stop, so a large part of the restaurant is designed for truck drivers, with lots of room for single folks and telephones built into the booths.  I like it cause the food is cheap, but good and the waitstaff is always extremely friendly and attentive.  As advertised on the huge billboard approaching the exit "20 oz porterhouse steak for $12.95"  Wowwee.  I didn't spring for a steak dinner but had delicious french toast, pancakes, country friend pork chop, eggs, grits, hash browns, sausage gravy and some great  "pepper pot" soup from the soup & salad bar. (i had a friend! that wasn't all my food!)  Also like that they served the coffee with my own little thermos-pot so I didn't have to keep begging for refills and it never got cold.  The place is not gourmet in the least, but they do try to include a few "healthy" options on the menu like whole-grain pancakes, etc.  They've got a bunch of buckets of Hershey's ice cream and some yummy looking pies, eclairs, and so forth if you need a sugar fix.  So anyway, next road trip on I-95, plan your stop around this joint for a good, no-fuss meal, and you can even shower, do your laundry, shop for CBs and appliances that plug into car cigarette lighters, play video games and phone-card slot machines.  Ahhh, almost like home!
