Jackie Os

It was Christmas Eve and my friend and I just HAD to get out of the house. You know, family and fish. Three days and it's about done. So she and I ventured into the wild and wooly world of the McAllen bar scene.

We went to Deloreans first but it was a little too frantic and loud for our mood that night. So we drove over to Jackie Os with the intention of getting our gay bar on. What greeted us was a guard at the door (odd), an offer of valet (ummm) and this incredibly rude girl at the door demanding a $10 cover as we walked in.

It was Christmas Eve. They were lucky to have patrons at all. I gave her my most winning smile and tried to cajole her into doing the right thing aka letting us in for freesies but she was so awful, even had she acquiesced, I think I would have left.  So bah humbug to you mean door lady.

As a Christmas Karmic Bonus, when we left the area, there were police cars swarming all around that bar.
