Jack's Famous Wings

Not a bad lunch option for the price, though the service can be a bit slow if you are really in a hurry. Usual complement of burgers and warm sandwiches, with the wings being the main attraction. As is pretty much the case everywhere in Austin, nothing here is healthy exactly; I'm pretty sure they don't even sell diet soda, and just about everything comes with mayonnaise unless you make a point of asking for none.

As for the wings themselves: once again, pretty good. Thin breading, sauce is fairly standard, and both times I had the wings they remained juicy. Plus, the price was certainly right. Best sandwich on the menu is probably the burger, though the "Philly chicken" is solid too. Avoid the tacos.

Ok, nottt tthe most fancy dancy place to grab wings but let me tell you!!

their wings are the best hot wings i've ever had.

they have this special breading so that when it fries up it forms a very thin crispy layer all around the chicken wing. it's soo thin and yet sooo crunchy... and i know ur thinking "it's just flour" .... n it probably is... but damn, maybe they slip a little sumptn-sumptn in with the flour.. i'm just sayin!  

their hot sauce is ALSO HOTT.. like, deliciously & exceptionally hot. perfect for the wings~

From the several times i've been here to grab wings (+fries +bread) and grape soda, the service has been good. Not absolutely fantastic because it's notttt the type of place u expect to leave an awesome tip for awesome service. for goodness sake people, you give your money  through a bullet-proof window on a swivel plate where they have to spin it back around to give you ur change.. and receipt. and thenn the food, when it eventually is ready bc yes it takes a good 7-10 minutes to fry chicken.
