Can't get no better than country food! Would definitely recommend people to eat here if you get hungry in cross plains.

Came thru here and stopped in for lunch just over a year ago on a cross country trip. Waitress was friendly and recommended the chicken fried steak and fries which were not bad. Seemed like all locals. It's somewhat "rustic", basic and sparse in a country way, not bad. Food was decent, good portions and definitely better than the usual chain restaurant garbage you find in the big cities. If I were passing thru Cross Plains I would stop there again. Solid no-nonsense food.

This is the food you expect to find in a small town café. Wait staff was fast and friendly. Both of us had the hot steak open face sandwich special of the day. Very good. apple cobbler for dessert. We'll be back.
