Kelly's is a pretty solid spot for brunch.  They had a special eggs benedict with a shallot garlic bernaise that Kim loved, and I had the biscuits & gravy special, which was tasty and unique, although I would have preferred that my fried eggs be served over the gravy in true heart attack style.  The $3 mimosas are sweet, so overall a good deal.  My only frustration is that our waiter asked us to move to a high top near the bar after we finished our breakfast and were still sipping our mimosas.  I understand the need to churn tables, but he should have seated us there first.

We used to love Kelly's, but I won't be returning. We were to meet some people there on a Sunday morning a few weeks ago. My husband went to check the patio to see if they were already seated & were waiting for us while I stayed by the hostess station. The hostess, after assisting another customer asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we did not, but that my husband was checking to see if our party had already been sat. She, in an extremely haughty, gruff manner, firmly stated, "We do not seat incomplete parties". Well, guess, what? That's an insane policy & the delivery of your policy has guaranteed that you will never have to seat me again. Kelly's, while they serve decent & sometimes great food, has gotten a big head if they've resorted to treating customers this way..

This is what Dunedin is all about: local fare, great food, quirkiness, and great people.  I've grown up in Dunedin and whenever I have the opportunity, I dine at Kelly's.

The food is always great and the service from my favorite server (Gus) is always attentive.  I highly recommend going for brunch on Sundays and requesting either Joey or Gus as a server.

Chef Virgil's spins on Eggs Benedict are always inventive and delectable.  The Cajun potatoes and muffins are also some of my favorites.  I could go on and on about my recommendations: French toast special, breakfast club, hell burger, wings...

Just go there and try it out.  I guarantee you'll be hooked.  Kelly's has always been a local favorite and tourist destination.  Don't forget the Sunday Funday Mimosa's for brunch.

Really friendly staff, nice patio, mean martinis, delicious Sunday dinner (in-laws were impressed!) Salt&pepper shakers kept our 18m old daughter entertained (especially the froggies, the peeing doggie and the robot) :) and because she weighs 22lbs her meal was 22cents!

Kelley's is a good solid place to eat. The breakfast/brunch menu is outstanding. I like the dinner menu as well. I also like coming to the bar in the evenings. They have a great location and have been doing a great job for many years.

    Day/Time of visit: weekend dinner
Atmosphere: hip, artsy, casual, comfortable, super awesome!

Kelly's is by far my favorite restaurant in Dunedin. The atmosphere, food, and staff are amazing every time I have been. I've been meaning to write a review for several months and decided on my next visit it was happening - I went for drinks and dinner last night so here is the long overdue review :)

On Friday and Saturday evenings Kelly's offers a fixed price Veggie Fest dinner - it's an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert for $20. Every week the offerings are completely new and interesting. I have ordered this great deal about 10 times and have been completely impressed all but 2 times (when they were trying out more lunch type options (i.e., sandwich or pizza) than entrees - they are back to entrees so all is good again). The offering on this visit included:

Fried Avocado with 2 dipping sauces (sweet chili, chipotle ranch)
    Mini Cobb salad
Brew House stuffed Portabello Mushroom with brown rice in a beer cheese sauce
Italian Cream Cake with Coconut and Pecans

Everything was amazing as usual! They have plenty of other options (small plates, large plates, daily specials) that have all been wonderful, specifically remembering an amazing Pork Chop daily special..... mmm, mouth is watering thinking about it now. While good, don't bother with sandwiches (Reuben, Beef Ridiculous) and hamburgers because their other options are so much more interesting.

The staff are always super friendly and do a great job. Dutch is my fav waiter - he's so personable and really makes the experience fun. We pretty much say 'I want to be friends with that guy!' every time we leave the restaurant ;)

We like sitting in the covered patio out back and if you are there past 8 pm on the weekends, the place turns from awesome restaurant into awesome bar.

This morning was our first time at Kelly's and it was delicious! I had the blackberry and mango french toast and my husband had the Kelly special. The service was quick and polite and the atmosphere was quirky and fun. We will definitely be back again for breakfast and we want to try lunch/dinner service too. Very good!

Great breakfast food.  I love the outdoor seating in the back.  It is definitely pricey for what it is but that shouldn't be a deal breaker unless you are low on funds.  It is a fun place to check out and then you can stroll around downtown Dunedin for a bit afterward.  Makes for a nice afternoon.

This is, hands down, my favorite place for breakfast, ever.  There food is truly incredible and very well thought out and executed.  Their hollandaise sauce can not be topped by any other restaurant, and it's different every time you go in there.

Great for families, kids under six "pay what they weigh", so a #30 kid gets to eat for 30 cents.  We honestly end up paying less to eat hear than McDonalds, and there is no comparison when it comes to the food.

The service is the best.  The hostess knows to put us with Bob before we even open the door, but all the people there are great.

I have been coming here for over 6 years and have never been disappointed.

Came here to try the breakfast. We both had the Pineapple blackberry and toasted coconut french toast which was tasty and all the flavors combined worked great. The bacon was cooked nicely and the sausage had a nice smokey flavor to it.

Service was good although it wasn't busy.

The restaurant is small and cozy and clean and I like how the kitchen is partially open so you can see what is actually going on in the kitchen.

So much for "consistently delicious."  Unfortunately, the last two times I've been here for breakfast the potatoes have been cold and the omelets overcooked.

    Sigh.

On the other hand, our waiter was scrumptious.

Food was great but it took 40 minutes for out app to come out (we ordered the garlic chips) the table next to us had to ask where their dessert was. I plan on going back since the food was great I'm hoping the server was just having a bad night. Will update after I go again maybe add some stars if the service is better.

Kelly's is the place we take friends and family visiting us in the Dunedin area. With outdoor seating it is a wonderful place to have a beer and a late lunch. While the food isn't outstanding, the atmosphere and people working there are great. If you're in Dunedin and you'd like a place that doesn't feel overly touristy to just grab an afternoon drink, I recommend Kelly's as the place to be.

LOVE THE FOOD HERE! Dinner, lunch or breakfast.  If at all possible, sit out back and you won't feel so crammed in.

For brunch or drinks Kelly's is great, but last time I was there with my family from out of town for dinner I was not very impressed. Our waiter was great very nice, prompt, and helpful. But the food just wasn't up to par. I tried the blackened grouper sandwich and I have had a better grouper sandwich just about everywhere. The appetizers we ordered were decent. But from now on I'm sticking to brunch.

I'm embarrassed to post this but here it goes...
I've lived in Florida 31 years and the last  16 in Tampa, wait for it....wait for it....here it comes...I've never been to Dunedin.  I decided earlier in the week that with the fantastic impending weather that we should head out to beaches.  My girlfriend suggested we head to Dunedin instead of the standard.  Brilliant.   We ended up doing a progressive dinner and our last stop was Kelly's.  The menu was so diverse that it was hard to make a decision.  Since we had already eaten at two other restaurants, my friends both decided on the House Made Ravioli:
stuffed with butternut squash, green apple, hazelnuts and fontina cheese
in a maple sage cream.  So...um...I asked for more bread on behalf of my friends because the maple sage cream was absolutely to die for.  So were the actual raviolis.  I had the grouper special.  I really wish I could remember everything that was in the special because it was tremendous, but alas I was nicely inebriated at that point.  The pan seared grouper had a perfect crust on the outside and maintained a moist, flaky meat. It was served on a bead of some unique barley which I also can't remember with sauteed brussel sprouts and tomatoes with a fantastic plated cream sauce/paste (I wish I had been a little more sober).  I opted for the soup which was a homemade cream of red pepper bisque.  AMAZING! I cannot wait to go back to try additional things on the menu.

Very cool place. We sat outside on the patio, had garlic chips and cheese plate for an appetizer, both were fantastic! Split the vegetable pasta dish (orzo, veggies, white sauce) for an entree, also delicious! I'm sure we'll be back!

Not sure why this place continues getting great ratings. We went on Sunday to grab some breakfast while it was raining out. Because of the rain and humidity we decided to sit inside. Well if the smell of dirty dish water didn't turn me off the noise of the kitchen sure did. We were given a table right in front of it. Beyond that I ordered eggs Benedict which was less than spectacular for $10 and my wife got the small something and it had some potatoes, 2 eggs scrambled and a muffin that also cost $10. When you add this all on top of the fact that we had to scream at each other to have a conversation and that the a/c was dripping on our table it didn't make for a great experience.

So...this place is ok. It has an interesting menu - that apparently changes every 6 months. I have eaten there twice. I got the spinach arugula salad with chicken,  the seafood pasta and the garlic chips (yum by the way). The chicken was dry, the poached egg on the salad was not cooked properly (not the way it's supposed to be, undercooked), the candied bacon was hidden and scarce, the dressing was very sweet and uninteresting to me. The seafood pasta was mediocre. The shrimps were not good - overcooked, the pesto was super oily, the mussels were ok (a bit overcooked though) but the flavors overall married well together despite the seafood bits. The garlic chips on the other hand were delicious. They make them homemade and smother them in garlic butter and put a wild mushroom dipping sauce on the side. So tasty. I did also get a soup which was not tasty at all - tomato artichoke soup, it was a cream base and it was fairly flavorless unfortunately.

All in all it was hit and miss food with good service. I would go again only if I was to eat their junk food, if I'm feeling like a fatty. Otherwise their entree type meals I might have to pass on, too bad too, they sound so interesting.

PS....Never been there for breakfast but everyone says they have an amazing breakfast with super casual laid back atmosphere...maybe one day I'll check that out.

    3.5 stars for Kelly's.

I've heard many great things about the breakfast and brunch here, but unfortunately we ended up being in the area for their "in-between" menu at 3pm.  While none of our food was bad, there was significantly less options than on their full lunch or dinner menu.

I ended up with a turkey reuben because none of their vegetarian options were standing out to me.  My sandwich was actually very tasty and the they somehow toasted the bread in a way that kept the sauerkraut from turning it to mush.  The coleslaw was also pretty good as far as slaws go and the side of cajun fries went perfectly with the sandwich.  My wife got the vegetarian sandwich which came with avocado, cheese, hummus, alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers and lettuce.  She seemed to thoroughly enjoy it and was full by the time she was done.

The prices for these relatively simple items were a few dollars more than I would expect, but the food was tasty enough.  I'd like to come back for the fabled breakfast or perhaps for the vegetarian special they do on Saturday nights.

    The Good:
-Service was friendly, helpful, patient, and prompt with drink refills
-Atmosphere was warm and inviting, the patio was an excellent choice. No bugs, perfect temperature.

    The Awesome:
-Veggie special on Friday: never thought a vegetarian meal could be so delicious. At 19.99 for appetizer, soup, entree, and dessert, it was a great deal. The entree was roasted vegetables on a thick pancake with all sorts of flavorful purees and sauces, each bite was better than the previous. I was perfectly full and then had a giant macadamia nut brownie with caramel ice cream placed in front of me. Paradise.
-The unsweetened iced tea was absurdly drinkable. Finished off at least 5 glasses, brewed in-house, and promptly refilled.
    -Cajun fries were bomb .com
-The burger my friend ordered was a classic setup but done right, entirely delicious.

    The Less-Than-Great:
-Waitress was clueless when it came to where they sourced their seafood. She did go in and ask (grouper: local. Shellfish: not local.)
-A friend had a pasta dish that was ....okay. If you order safe, you'll get a safe meal.

Overall: For me, a great dining experience. Would happily repeat. The Veggie Special (offered Fri/Sat nights I believe) was an excellent choice, especially as I was having a very difficult time choosing off the regular menu (many delicious sounding options but nothing quite perfect.) I would happily be a repeat customer. For my two girlfriends, I believe they had an enjoyable time but based on the food not quite as outstanding.

We've been coming down to Dunedin for Spring Training for almost a decade, and the one place we ALWAYS hit is Kellys.  As good for dinner as it is for brunch, the kitchen turns out a fresh quality product.

Service peed can be inconsistent, but they make up for it with a friendly, good-natured approach.  The serving staff five years ago was made up of the starving artist female community; while in the last couple of years has morphed into the starving artist gay male community.  But the product in the kitchen hasn't changed at all.

It fills up fast for dinner, but waiting for a table at the bar next door (Chic a Boom Room, same owners) is an entertaining option.

Brunch- many options, all good, but try the oatmeal with granola if you're looking for something healthy, or the eggs benedict specials if not.  Orange juice is fresh squeezed, and the muffins homemade daily.

Dinner?  Fresh seafood prepared expertly.  Crab cakes are awesome...

Excellent Brunch Spot! I'm sure it's a great evening spot as well.

Kelly's has a very friendly staff. Be sure to ask them what the specials are for the day. This restaurant/bars breakfast specials always include an eggs benedict creation and a fresh baked muffin of the day! I've tried these specials multiple times and I'm always overly satisfied!

You can choose to be seated inside or under the pavilion outside.

Until next time kelly's . .XO

Very friendly bartenders last night but the crowd was lame.  Too many guys looking for fights and too many girls that love that.  I have to say I was pretty proud of my friend when someone tried to pick a fight with him and he simply responded "don't be that guy."

Drinks are poured well, cost is average as expected, but the crowd is weak and the place dies too early.  I won't likely return.

Woke up early on Saturday on a mission for some good breakfast.  I had heard there was some interesting and eclectic places in Dunedin, so I hopped in the car for a 10 minute drive.

Kelly's did not disappoint, Starting with a spicy bloody mary and coffee.

Coffee and bloody mary in hand, I perused the menu and the happenings.

The waitstaff were extremely competent, outgoing but down to business and excellent at their trade.

I decided on the roast beef hash and eggs.  A big fan of corned beef hash and had heard a great roast beef hash would put it to shame.  It arrived in its own bowl and I was surprised to find, trimmed perfectly seasoned roast beef slices in a potato cheesy sauce.  Very good!  Complimenting it was potatoes cooked in a hot sauce and were a great compliment, the eggs were cooked just right.

After hearing the specials- I also decide on a butterscotch blackberry muffin which was amazing.

Overall- Kelly's was a great find.  Would love to try out other things on the menu- and Im pretty sure I will.

Breakfast burritos, fluffy fruity muffins, blueberry pancakes! Oh my! My all-time favorite breakfast spot and a gem Dunedin should be proud to have.  It's a hip and charming business that I wish would spread a little more around this town. Even as quaint as Dunedin may be, I believe it would be severely lacking with out Kelly's.

Eating on the patio is my preference since the inside can become cramped and there is an odor of cleaning product and mystery component that does not sit well with me.

I enjoy the casual morning experience of breakfast that is accented by decent coffee and delicious muffins. The wait staff are generally always pleasant and reliable.

The casual wears off come after noon and evenings as the staff will change from normal clothing to all black and slightly more formal attire. Lunch and dinner are equally as delicious.  I suggest the Chili Lime Chicken sandwich (especially for the meat-atarians) and the Ribeye Steak Salad for those who enjoy crisp lettuce, sesame flavors, and tender meat. My favorite salad.  My only other qualm is that I would enjoy a wider selection of meals for this time of day.

Overall, I highly recommend Kelly's for those looking to relax and enjoy quality food and drink. They often offer a muffin or soup of the day and I always go for it and am never disappointed!

My husband and I woke up at 6:30 on sat morning...that would never happen in this house lol....decided. to go to have breakfast outside for the first time in years.

It is located on main street in Dunedin and the area got a cute atmosphere.   They were having Saturday morning market right across the street and we walked through it and bought some fresh veggies after dining at Kelly's....what a nice weekend morning it was!

Anyways back to the restaurant....they god inside and outside seating.  Since the weather was so nice we sat outside.
Technically not completely outside since they got roof over the place and you do not get any sunlight.
It is better off to do so since here gets so hot in summer but I like eating getting sunshine shower.

I ordered quiche with sausage, peppers and mozzarella with the side of potatoes.  My husband had the strawberry and walnut french toasts.
The quiche was a little different from regular ones. This one was very creamy and fluffy and I liked it!  However the best thing was their side potatoes.   It was a little crispy outside and got Cajun flavor to it.  Yum.... :)  The french toast was good too.  It was decorated very pretty and not too sweet at all.  Even the orange juice we had was soooo good.

One downfall, my husband could not get over the fact the spoons we had on the table were really dirty and got some dried food stuck to them lol
I understand it is very hard to have silverware spotless but at least they could have seen those dirty spoons when they placed on the table and taken them back.  I guess nobody cared enough to do so.

I had dinner there the other night and it was so good I decided that I'd remove a previous unflattering review rather than simply edit it.

The food was phenomenal from start to finish.  Great drinks, an impressive array of appetizers, excellent main courses, and the desserts....oh Jesus.  Made in house and unbelievably good.  Our table split four of them and they were all amazing.

Great atmosphere and our waiter, Dutch, was incomparable--very professional but a lot of fun too.

If you live in the Tampa Bay area you need to go, and get one of Dutch's tables if possible.

Best breakfast, bar none with a touch of glitz and edginess, make this one of my most favorite breakfast places and a "must go" when I am anywhere near Dunedin.

Menu is nice and diverse. The food is top notch, especially the various eggs benedicts!  Also, you CANNOT leave here without trying one of their freshly made muffins!

The servers are funny, animated and fantastic and really give this place a unique flavor.  Do your breakfast palate a favor and try this restaurant!

I like the idea of Kelly's, but not always the execution of Kelly's.

It is a great place, great theme, delightful wait staff and fun atmosphere but sometimes the food leaves much to be desired. It is definitely hit or miss for me. I've been there and have had yummy fluffy whole wheat pancakes with bananas and then on other days they are rubbery and cold. It is kind of a surprise what kind of experience I'm going to have whenever I go there.

But their OJ is really good, actually fresh squeezed. And they do have some great lunch selections. I recommend it and if you go, I hope it is a hit for you instead of a miss.

I had a good time at this place, a very good time.

Tasty bloody Mary, and cheap at  2-for-1 on Sunday at brunch time. Was nice and spicy... and the bartender gave me extra olives :) I love olives. They could've served me nothing but a bowl of green olives and I would've given them 5 stars.

Had one of their specials, an asparagus quiche, with cheese grits. Very tasty. The quiche crust was fantastic, the quiche had just the right hint of sweetness to it.

I tried my sister's cajun potatos and eggs benedict, and I was very pleased.

So ya, I'll definitely go back.

Kelly's is a sexy, little restaurant on Dunedin's Main Street.

On Fridays, they have an spectacular prix fixe vegetarian dinner - includes appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Their ala carte menu has a few vegetarian selections as well.

I recommend their mojitos - perfect.

They have outside seating, but you need to make a reservation.

They have a  full bar with live music next door, and a nightclub with a DJ next to that...

    Quite a special establishment...

After living in the county for many years, it wasn't until recently that I was able to check out the Main Street Dunedin area.  Granted I'm sure it was different during my high school years, but I'm sure the overall ambiance and quaintness typical of smaller towns would've still been there.

Wasn't here by day but was here at night (I guess when it's Chic-A-Boom Room according to Suzanne S.) after a wedding.  Bar was on the casual side but not at all like a dive.  The artsy kitsch decor reminds me of Nicholson's House when it was around.  Staff was attentive and drinks were reasonable.  A chill yet happening bar in the Main Street Dunedin area that I'd go to if I want to go out and don't want to take a trip out to Tampa.
