Knuckles is just ok.  I've been here a couple of times since I've stayed at the hotel where it's located for work.  The service is always just ok and although the food is good I feel its over priced even for a hotel bar.  On a positive note they have lots of TVs and also a nice beer selection.

My friends and I have been to this bar once before and it was fine, your typical hotel sports bar.  We went here a second time and it was all bad!

Waitress was okay, not very attentive, then again, I think she was 1 of 2 waiters on a Saturday night. We ended up getting our own silverware. No popcorn in the popcorn machine and they failed to make any after we asked and they promised a couple of times. We ordered garlic fries which were not so garlicky. We noticed a puddle of oil at the bottom of the basket as we were almost done with the fries. We were pretty grossed out at that point. But wait, we also ordered nachos. Everything was all good until not just one, but two of us, pulled out a long strand of hair from each of our bites...now that's REALLY gross!! I want to throw up every time I think about our last experience there.

The fish & chips I got last night were mediocre. The food poisoning was epic.

OK so as far as hotel bars go, this is my favorite of any in the states. You walk into the place and it's as if you walked into your neighborhood bar at home. Spacious, comfortable, and a nice staff to welcome you. The food menu has quite a bit without getting crazy, but, just go for the fish tacos :) Plenty to fill you up without overwhelming the stomach. The beers flow, and the place will get a bit loud sometimes (especially if there is a function at the hotel), but it feels kind of nice. Johnny, one of the bartenders is great at keeping the beers full. Thank you sir.... So if your travel shall bring you by SFO, make sure to visit Knuckles.... enjoy!

Updated my review to three stars because all of my visits to the bar area have been much better than my 1st visit.  There was one instance when i only ordered one drink and was overcharged by $2, so they are not completely off the hook.

The best knucles sports bar so far.. The food was great and the service was exceptional too. I got Baja Fish Taco, clam chowder and RIBS (my favorite!)

Definition of Meh, but they have lots of TVs.

Everywhere you look there is a tv, perfect for the fall when the Giants are in the postseason and the 49ers are playing at the same time.

Happy Hour specials aren't anything amazing, and the food is fine, nothing memorable. I had wings and fries, wings were just fine, fries weren't that great. Not worth the trip out here for me.

It's a 2 star place for me, but the TV sitch bumps it up.

How do you serve watery cabernet?  How do you serve horrible, awful lukewarm, flavorless nachos? I realize that nachos and cabernet don't pair well together but it sounded good at the time. They served the nachos in a salad bowl, obviously microwaved. I swear to you, they MUST have used cheez whiz. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL food, friendly waitress, so-so service.

This hotel bar is fair and the service is really good. The food is definitely worth skipping. I don't know what was historical about this bar, except maybe the crowd. :-) Seriously, though this is just another average hotel bar which I wouldn't go out of my way to try.

I continue to return here for one of my favorite angus burger sports bars to unwind prior to my return home on the east coast. They updated their menu, but, still offer my favorite any choice of cheese burgers with up to three free toppings of choice. My usual special is blue cheese with Jalapenos and carmalized onions. The burgers with their tasty fries are only $11.90.

The service here is consistently above average. There is a very wide selection of draft beer here. I ordered my usual Guinness draft. I have my favorite table with a great view of the bar area and HDTV displays. All of this for a reasonable price See my pics.

Great, comfortable, fun environment to watch the games! We sat at the bar and had great service, and the food was pretty good for bar food. Even though we arrived after both the Giants game and the Chicago Bears game had started, we had no trouble finding a seat and getting a beer right away. The ladies room was spotless! When does that ever happen in a bar? The only thing that could have been better was that they ran out of my first 2 beer choices early in the evening. But there were plenty of other good ones on tap. I'll be back!

All hotels need a bar like this. As a Chicagoan it almost makes me feel like I'm at a local establishment enjoying the cold beer and solid bar food.

I'm not so sure why it's called "a historical" ... The hotel doesn't look that old so this bar can't be that old. They do have a nice display of autographs and cool/weird wood carvings of bears wearing bay area team jerseys.

Service wise it was good. Seemed to be a bit robotic and could have been more personable. The place was busy each night I was in the hotel. Either that means it's not bad or there is no place else nearby to go.. If you're in the hotel ... check it out.. Even if it's for a post dinner nightcap.

I only had the chili cheese fries, a little light on the chili, but overall yummy, hope one day to try other stuff. Wish they had other bottled water besides dasani / aquafina

Came in for last call drinks. It's a bummer that they close a little early, but the bartenders were really nice, great service. They made us feel like we were all buddies in the house lol. They made good drinks too, good midori from what I recall, good beer. Will come back if I need a bar in Burlingame.

Went here tonight for a work sponsored hh.  They charged us a $500 minimum to reserve the back of the bar for 30 peeps.  This was reasonable and it was nice to have our own space.  The service was good, the parking was validated and it was easy to get to, but I cant say anything nice about the food and I actually like bar food.  I guess I would only end up here again, if the company was paying but if I was planning the hh I would prob go with a place with better food.

It's a hotel sports bar/restaurant with 30 beers on tap (in different glass sizes starting at around $4 for 12 oz.), a menu of burgers, ribs and such, and a bunch of TVs over the bar.  Let's face it--the only reason anyone goes to a bar in a hotel is because they're staying at there and don't want to go out.  Not for the food or ambiance.  So there's something mildly depressing about these bars.

I sat at the bar and didn't have any of the service issues others have written about.  The food was just okay.  I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the fish tacos and I probably wouldn't repeat either.  The bar stays open until 1 am and stops serving food at 12:30 am.  They do have good movie theater-style popcorn you can serve yourself from the machine.

So I came back here to watch a pre-season giants game with a couple friends and had a pretty bad experience.  First, instead of greeting us, the waitress just came to our table and stood there staring at us.  It was kinda awkward, but we just started telling her what drinks we wanted since we hadn't had enough time to decide what to eat.  After bringing us our drinks, the waitress left us at our table for like a half hour without asking us if we wanted to order.  She walked  by our table a couple times, but avoided us like the plague.  She didn't even make eye contact.

As we were talking about going somewhere else, she finally decided to come over and take our food order.  I ordered the chicken strips which were not bad at all, but they were kinda heavy.  The waitress was a little more attentive at this point, but it still didn't make up for what she did earlier.  I don't even think smiled once.

Now I  really doubt I will ever be back.

Last week I met my boyfriend and his friends here to catch the Giants game on the big screen. When I first walked in the place was packed and I seen the boys at the table and noticed all of their drinks were empty - not a good sign - 5 guys with empty drinks watching the Giants game, someone get these guys a refill STAT! ;D jk jk!
But on a serious note - this place was pretty packed and the service was really slow! I think I sat there for a good 20 minutes before the waitress even came to our table to take our drink orders (and before she even came to our table a few of the guys tried to go up to the bar to order something and they weren't successful there either.) After she came by our table that time it seemed like she was back more often to check on us though.
They had a lot of TVs, there were about 3 in every direction you looked, and all had the game on so there wasn't a chance to miss a bit of the game.
I didn't try any of the food except for the garlic fries and they were really good.  Definitely would go back just for the fries :)

World Series game 1 this Wednesday - GO GIANTS! WE BELIEVE!

Early morning flight from the east coast, managed to blag an early check-in at the Hyatt and then faced the dilemma of being both tired and hungry. Nap or ribs?

Easy call, ribs first, nap second which meant lunch couldn't be far from my room. Knuckles is the sports bar in the Hyatt. Perfect so long as I kept low expectations on the ribs.

It was surprisingly good. Nice enough bar, plenty of TVs spread about, attentive bar tender, bass on tap and ribs that, even though there was no hint of smoke, were falling off the bone moist with a decent enough sauce. I wouldn't seek it out but if you are staying in the hotel it's not a bad choice.

I have to admit...I can be overly critical.  But I can also be fair...as evident in all of my reviews.  So when I bang a place down...it's because the experience was really really bad.  It's deserving of 0 stars if that were an option.

Imagine being in a Bay Area sports bar.  A local team is in the playoffs.  One would think that that game would be on the main screen with sound right?  Wrong!

Instead...they show a different game for teams that are at least 400 miles away.  The overwhelming majority of the customers requested that the game be changed...but they refused.  They claimed that there was one customer who was watching the other game and he had a right...even though he wasn't in the same room as the main screen.  So for this one customer...they played the game for him on the main screen in a room that he wasn't in...and they basically said F-U to the other dozens have fan wanting to watch their home team.

Despite everyone's request and all the protesting...the wait staff couldn't do anything.  Melinda was our waitress and she did a wonderful job.  I'm sorry she had to be caught up in the middle of this.

When the distant game finally ended and they switched to the local game when it was almost half over...one of the managers had the nerve to come out and tell the customers that they were rude.  Yes...Kelin (sp?) I'm talking about you.  How dare you be so unprofessional to tell a customer that they were rude?  To make matters worse, Kelin's boss (the short balding psuedo asian dude in a suit) who I assume could be the owner of the place just stood behind the counter and made faces.

Why are you in business in the Bay Area if you're not here to serve and support the local fans and teams?  It's not like your food is any good or anything.  What reason do I have to come back again?  So you can give me a big F-U in my face?  I can't wait to see this place close down...then it'll really be historical.

This place has tons of TVs, pleasant (though not particularly swift) service, and they've got the sunday ticket for football, which is a huge plus.

Honestly, this place would be a four-star review if it weren't for the fact that it's a hotel bar, with corresponding prices.

Really?  $16 for a cheeseburger and fries?  Really guys?  Seven dollars for a 16-oz Guiness?  Really?!?  Fourteen freakin' dollars for a turkey club sandwich??  What do I get, the whole thanksgiving turkey and three pieces of bread???  I mean, I know the popcorn and peanuts are free and all, but there's no reason for the prices to be that high to cover for the rest of it.

Also, you've got the sunday ticket but didn't spring for high def?  Or do the bartenders just not know which channels to use to score the high def programming?  Either way: lame.

How can you not love a sports bar?!?! Especially one where you can throw peanut shells on the floor! This used to definatly be the spot since I worked only about 2 miles away. I really enjoy their food, burgers are good and juicy, buffalo wings are hot and spicy, service always has a pep in their step and it's open late! Big plus for me.

Nice sports bar with the "Sports Bar" feel. It was dimly lit, filled with TV screens, and had a great atmosphere. Their beer glasses start at 12oz and go all the way up to 34oz. They also offer free popcorn and peanuts in the shell. When you eat the peanuts, it is acceptable to throw the shells on the ground.

They have a parking lot, but I believe it was $2/hr. If you bring your parking ticket into the bar, they will validate it for you and it is good for 3 hours.

Being that this bar was part of the Hyatt hotel, the prices were a little high. They offered the standard pub food, but the quality was questionable. We ordered a plate of nachos which contained more sour cream and guacamole than it did chips. I swear there were about 20 chips in the whole plate. And the cost of that was $10. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza for $15 which was really small ( about 8" wide).

I guess if you came here, had a beer, and pigged out on peanuts and popcorn, then it would be a decent place to hangout. But otherwise, I am sure there are better places to go.

    Hi folks!

Just wanted to inform you of the interesting little saga experienced this Friday at Knuckles at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame.

Yep, you gotta pay for parking ($2/hr) which seems reasonable enough...but I'll get back to that later. There seemed to be a lot of scantily-clad women all walking up to the entry of the hotel; all wearing black, and most of them had enough plastic surgery to make any aesthetician green with envy...or wince with remorse. But I digress.

I meandered up to the 2nd floor, and found the bar in question. Kind of a dark-lit affair, with your sports-ish crowd all sullenly gazing into their almost-empty glass, and trying to cadge a free beer off of the bartender.

Ah yes...speaking of the bartender. There were two "bartenders" at yonder establishment; the reason that I use quotes is the fact that neither of them were friendly at all. The older fellow took a grim delight in pointing out the fact that the basketball game that my mates wanted to watch had been delayed. Not to mention his customer service skills were at oh...maybe 25%. Let's bring the other "bartender" into the mix. A moody young soul, whose emotions seemed to be cut from a block of ice. Unsmiling, uncaring and curt. And those were probably his good points.

Last I checked, folks, bartenders were in the business of making their customers feel good and happy. Pouring cold drafts of excellence. Hamming it up. Etc, etc...not these two. Every time one of these fellows came by, it seemed like we were inconveniencing them.

Can't fault the beer, though. A quart of Guinness in a mug that was cold and frosty (just like the bartenders, now that I think of it).

After about 45min, I decided to leave and find a happier place (the 101 traffic heading SB to PA), I ambled over to my vehicle and drove up to the parking booth. There were no attendants there; which is fine. I had my parking ticket in my hand and cash in the other hand, and guess what? The parking gate ONLY takes credit cards. They don't tell you this on the way in, of course. Or if they did, I surely didn't see it. I usually use cash. It IS still legal tender, last I heard.

So, repark the car. Go back into the hotel. Ask where the parking validation is. Walk to it. For some reason, even though I had only stayed for 45min, I was charged $3.50. Whatever. I put a $20 in the machine...AND RECEIVED MY CHANGE IN FREAKIN' QUARTERS, FOR GOD'S SAKE. Quarters? Really? Even at BART, you get dollar coins. Not here.

Overall, an unpleasant experience. Loved seeing my mates there, hated the place and the parking and the layout...etc.

It should really be called "Suckles" or "Schmuckles" or "Fu..."; well, you get the idea.

Knuckles bar offers a far more relaxed atmosphere and a friendlier menu compared to the other offering of the Hyatt's towering atrium lobby.

BBQ pulled pork was fantastic and so was the salad. Very fresh and pleasant. BBQ pork had a great taste and tenderness to it and the roll was hearty and warm.

Salad was fresh, crisp, and very refreshing.

Floors are covered with peanut shells with complimentary peanuts on every table.

Bar, giant televisions everywhere, small pool table, and casual seating. Not the run of the mill Knuckles and personally, closer to my tastes of where I'd like to spend a casual meal.

The good: it's open late, seating is always available, and the service is attentive & super friendly.

The bad: the food.  It sucks big A.  The menu choices overall don't make sense, as if they're cut-and-pasted from 4 or 5 different restaurants (none of which are good).  For example, I wanted a simple grilled chix sammy but the only thing they had was some weird soy-ginger marinated "chicken breast" (no way it was real chix, tasted like salty dog food jerky).  I hate it when restaurants aren't true to what they are and then do a #$*&^ job at executing the food.  Say, here's an idea... you're a sports bar, so why not stick with good ol' bar fare staples like pizza, potato skins, burgers, sandwiches, nachos, buffalo wings, entree salads, quesadillas and such.  They have burgers, but you're pretty much S.O.L. otherwise if you want good ol' fashioned comfort food.

I ended up here (for the second time) for happy hour and the Laker game a couple Thursdays ago, and I must say, they go above and beyond the scope of your average sports bar.  Yes, it is located inside the Airport Hilton and no, you won't find your local sleeveless tee wearing, beer guzzling NASCAR fans here.  It's definitely an established, classier joint that tries to feel like your local watering hole.  You'll probably find most patrons clad in something Brooks Brothers, but jeans and a t-shirt will do just as well.

The walls are adorned with sports memorabilia and TV screens broadcasting whatever your sporting heart desires.  Major points go to beernuts aplenty, which are stored in gigantic wooden barrels to be freely acquired.  I have to admit it was fun throwing peanut shells on the floor, but watch the Kenneth Coles, please.  The bar and wait staff were both curteous and swift.  I usually prefer a seat at the bar for accelerated consumption of alcohol, but the servers make sure to get the drinks to the table just as quickly.

After spending a bit too much time here, way beyond the definition of a happy hour, my tab was supplemented by an irritating $5.00, non-optional parking fee.  Otherwise, it was a great time and I would definitely return.

Loved this place, might be my Peninsula alternative to the late Bayside Sports Bar.
Had an hour to kill before picking up some friends at the airport, so my bud and I stopped by here. Saw the Knuckles sign, but still had to navigate thru the main doors and walk upstairs before heading in.
Very crowded on a Friday nite, with interleague matchups and NHL on the tube.

-Surprisingly got a table near the bar
-they were short staffed so we did have to wait abt 10 min before getting our drink orders in.
-they got tons of beers on tap and a great drink menu
-we were next to the infamous barrel where there are all-u-can-eat peanuts, and throwing peanut shells on the ground is encouraged :)
-great crowd to wach the Penguins, correction, Elmer's Penguins, win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup. LOL
-they validate the first few hrs of parking at the garage to the side
-loved the TVs all around, even above the walls, and the staff paid attention to when games ended and switched accordingly.
    - We were eating Indian that nite, so I didn't have a chance to sample the grub here, but the happy hr menu looked good.

Will definitely come here again come football season or march madness! Much easier to find pkg than the Knuckles of the Fisherman's Wharf variety. GREAT sports hangout and bar if you're near the peninsula or need to pass the time before picking someone up at the airport!

This is a good place...still has free popcorn and peanuts, and they encourage you to throw the shells on the floor.  Good atmoshpere too, with friendly bartenders and lots of TV's.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, though, as Hyatt fucked up the Knuckles at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.  They took away the free peanuts, changed the menu, changed the name to "Knuckles at the Wharf" and basically made it an upscale yuppie looking place.  It sucks now, so let's hope this Knuckles stays true to its sports bar theme.

    The Good:
    1.  Lots of beer (priced on average around $5 a pint)
    2.  Lots of TV's playing sports
    3.  Free popcorn and peanuts

    The Bad:
    1.  The bar is in a hotel so you have to park in the hotel's garage.  Although you get 3 hours free with validation it's still a minor pain than parking in a bar parking lot.
    2.  The food tastes okay, [no frills pub food]
    3.  The place is messy with peanut shells everywhere

    The Ugly:
    1.  Far and away it is the cost of the food.  A $13 hamburger is outrageous.  Fish and chips sets you back $12.  Other sandwiches are priced in the same range, $12 - $15 approximately.  Maybe this is to offset the peanut and popcorn cost to the restaurant.
    2.  Service is okay pregame.  During and after though you may need to take matters in your own hands

Been to Knuckle's in SF and this one here and even though this one seems smaller and has lower ceilings, the vibe seems cooler.  They tell you to throw the peanut shells on the floor after you eat them.

So what a sports bar should be.  A no stress type of place where you can drown in your sports....

Did a Fantasy Draft here a number of years ago and everyone had a great time....

Best place to watch sports in the bay area. Lots of beers on tap. Chili Queso dip is awesome! Other food items have left a bit to be desired and when it gets busy the waiter staff seems a bit overwhelmed at times but they are all very friendly. Easy parking with validation. Beautiful hotel to walk around and walk off a couple extra beers. They will put on any sport you want for you, they have all the packages.

I love the whole concept of this place and here are my reasons why:

    1. Being able to watch and hear the basketball games
    2. Complimentary shelled peanuts and fresh popped popcorn
    3. Being able to litter all over the floor
    4. Reasonable Prices

    Food: 3/5
    Service: 4/5

How cool is this place! FREE PEANUTS AND FREE POPCORN, and you can make a big of a mess you want! The floor is full of peanut shells, i feel bad for the person that has to clean this place up.. i'm pretty sure if the grave yard janitor. SUCKS FOR YOU!

O.K. on to the bar.. wait lets talk about finding this place.. wow i was so confused, the parking structure said there was an entrance on the second floor of the garage, but there was no entrance, i was looking for it for awhile.. so i said screw it.. i went to the hotel, and the hotel sign said that it was located on the atrium floor, it was located on the atrium floor but you have to walk around the whole atrium to get to it! DAMMIT DESIGN THIS PLACE A LITTLE BIT BETTER!

Once i got in to Knuckles, it had a nice sports feel to it, but i thought it was quite dirty.. with all the peanut shells on the floor.. but i then later on found out that they serve free peanuts and you can dump them where ever you want. They have many flat screen TVs available here, which most of them were turned onto the warriors game, which wasn't available on cable! I checked out the menu, and it is very limited, overpriced food, and it didn't look to great anyways. We ordered the cheapest thing on the menu, Garlic fries and onion rings which were only $5 a basket... and they came in huge baskets! It seems like they have tons of beers on tap, and the price of the beers are pretty cheap. $10 for a 24 oz beer... damn those cups were huge!

Another plus side about this place is that they validate your parking! FREE PARKING FTW! 3 hrs free!

We went here last night after work... I have been here before.. They do have a happy hour. 15 percent off overpriced food and $5 well drinks.
The place had some people in it. They do have a lot of televisions.
We ordered some sandwiches with fries. They were ok. We also got some overpriced beers.
Overall, I don't think I will go back. The food is average at best, service was fine until it took 15 minutes to get the bill, but the overpriced food is what bothers me the most.
    I wouldn't waste your time.

This is a funky bar. Imagine going from the beautiful atrium area of the Hyatt into a room tightly-packed with tables and chairs complete with popcorn and peanut shells littering the floor.

I mean, it's pretty cool that you can serve yourself from the peanut barrel and popcorn machine and throw discards on the floor, it's just not what I would expect at a Hyatt.

The weeknight crowd was... interesting... I'm not sure whether everyone was ready to pass out from drinking too much or just tired but they weren't a very lively bunch. The servers were pretty much the same, not very attentive and somewhat distracted.

Located on the 2nd floor of the hotel, overlooking the Ballroom.  The usual Knuckles of dark wood and the peanut barrel that you scoop out, put in the cup and throw the shells on the floor.

I have been trying to find a place to watch sports since watching the conversion of Scores to some Japanese buffet...  Watched Game 7s here tonight.  Free peanuts and popcorn.  Great pizza and fries.  Awesome draft beer selection.  I had some issues shucking peanut shells onto the nice hardwood floor, but I was a trooper and learned to pollute indoors.  It was so liberating.

Located inside the Hyatt Hotel is one of the best sports bars in the bay area. I love catching a weekend Giants/UCLA/49ers game on the huge projection screens at Knuckles. The food and drink menus are really good, but the best thing at this bar is the barrels of peanuts. Just grab a basket, fill it up, and snack away. They don't care if you make a huge mess either - people just toss their shells on the floor like you're actually inside the stadium. There are also smaller tv screens around the bar, so you can catch a little bit of each game going on that day.
