I'm always on the hunt for craft beer finds. There aren't many local breweries in the Central Florida area, so I'm making an effort to try and visit them all this year.  The Lagniappe Brewing Company was my latest discovery.

This small Clermont brewery is located between the Citrus Tower and the Donut King, making it a good spot to stop if you're wandering along US 27.
We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon when there were just a few patrons. You'll find a handful of high tops and a bar to enjoy your beer.

We bellied up to the bar for our drinks.  There were six beers on tap to choose from, all their own brews.  I wanted to sample a few so I went with a flight of four for $6.

My flight consisted of the the Cream Ale, Red Ale, Porter, and the Effinheimer IPA. My favorite was the Porter, but the IPA was just as tasty.

While we were there we found out that they are transitioning into smaller batches of beer.  They want to start making more unique flavors that turn over and mix it up a bit more with their usual taps.  I'd like to go back and see what new beers they come up with.

If you're looking for action this isn't the place.  If you're looking for a big beer selection this isn't your place either.  It's a nice spot with friendly folks serving up some fresh Florida beer.

Just visited this place since its local and I've never been before. The beer was great and I'd like to see it in more places on tap at least around Orlando. Definitely check it out sometime. I enjoyed the scapegoat and my husband liked the double ipa but out of the 6 beer sampler there wasn't anything I didn't like.

While vacationing in the Orlando area my friend and I were looking for something to pass the time that did not involve characters or amusement park rides.  My friend is a novice brewer herself and when Lagniappe Brewing Company came up on Yelp, was close to where we were staying, AND was open we headed out to check it out.

This is truely hidden gem outside the Orlando area - so much so that we passed by it twice before we found it.  We were greated warmly by the owner (who was from LA) and sat at the bar as we tried a sampler of what was on tap for the day (about 6).  The owner greated us warmly and as we sat and enjoyed our brews told us that they had only been open for a couple of years but that their brews are not distrubuted, you have to purchase the beer directly from Lagniappe.

In a relaxed atmosphere I tried a sampler of the Winter Ale, Red Ale and the Scapegoat - reasonably priced for 8 bucks.  The tap room also has several tables and as you enjoy your beer you can see directly into the brew room where the magic happens.

Each of the beers I tried were quite tasty - even the Scapegoat which was a Double IPA, a variety of beer I am not usually a fan of.

Definately a place to check out if you are in the area.
