Surprisingly delicious upscale bar food at this cozy library-themed spot. Â 4.5 stars
Food: 4.5, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 4.3
Cost to worth it rating: 4.5 ($6 pork belly skewers, $10 burgers that are high quality)
Eve award: best pork belly on a stick
Return worthiness: yes
Highlights:
- Pork belly skewers: melt in your mouth additively good and put over the top with the sweet syrup. The highlight eats of the night and we were still talking about it days later.
- Burgers: thick, juicy, and and well-cooked. I can be a tough burger critic but I especially enjoyed this blue cheese and bacon rendition.
- Edamame: chile lime version was a delicious combo of sweet and spicy
- Atmosphere: this isn't your grandfather's library ;-) Dark and cozy with comfortable seating. Lively but not too crowded. One of the only places we could find seating for all 8 of us that night.
Lowlights:
- Chorizo sliders: I didn't particularly enjoy these based on the coarseness of the meat
- Missing fries: wanted to try the peppered steak version but they never arrived
Had a fun night here when we thought we were giving up on any good food and just going for drinks. I actually liked the food better than the drinks and I'd come back.
