This place is okay. I'm from Texas so I'm a bit of a bbq snob. This place isn't great but it isn't bad. The ribs had a really good flavor, I loved the glaze but they were a little too tough for me. The hot link was a bit dry. The tri tip was pretty good I liked the amount of fat and flavor but it's too chewy. The fries are amazing! But this is a bbq joint, the fries shouldn't be the best thing at the table. The pulled pork sandwiches looked good. Ill be back to try one of those.
Review Source:In the Wicker Park area of Chicago there is an epic battle waging over what is the best BBQ with 3 blocks of my apartment.
Lillie's Q sauces are ridiculously great and there are like 5 of them. It's harder for me to decide which to put on the meat I order than to decide what that meat will be. The brisket is a bit dry for my tastes and the ribs aren't nearly slow cooked enough, but really that's nitpicking for need to delineate between the two.
Really, what I need, and, quite frankly America as a whole needs, is a transformer style combination of Smoke Daddy's meat and Lillie Q's sauces. And yes I will be using this exact same line in my Smoke Daddy review to more easily to pad my Yelp stats. Sue me.
