Lilly's Meals

I had deep anxiety when I knew that Miel's was leaving and figured I could get Lilly's food closer to home here in Doylestown so I hadn't tried the new Lilly's Meals until today.  So very happy that we gave it a shot tonight.  I had the house salad.  Fresh, loaded with goat's cheese and fruit and Pecans.  My hubby had the Mediteranean salad . . . fresh, zesty and abundant.  We decided to do hamburgers . . . what better way to critique a place than their hamburger.  Fat, juicy and cooked to my perfect medium, with hand-cut fries and homemade coleslaw with just the right combination of sweet/tart.  Too full for desert but will positively be heading back soon.  Sat. night and not crowded but noted several happy other tables.

This was our first visit since meils closed.  I ordered a fluffy omelette with mushrooms and spinach and feta.  I asked the waitress if truly fluffy.  She said yes.  I told her no brown on it.  When she brought it out she said, oh they overlooked it sorry.   She should have not brought it to me. The spinach was cold. She offered to take back and get recooked.  I said yes.  It came out better but I toast.  I asked 2 times for the toast and was told it would be right out.  At 2.50 a pop for iced tea and coffe it would have been nice to get a refill.  I don't know what they  do to the home fries but they are limp and soggy.

We won't be returning.

......unfortunately, wifey and I are incorrigible foodies.......We had a late lunch here today......ordered the Soup d'jour and the lobster roll......wifey had the beet salad and soup.......Lily's did not disappoint.....will be back.....service was warm, professional and un-nuanced......just the way we like it....
