My daughter had a doctor appointment and it was lunch time when all was done. Â While standing in the parking lot I looked around and noticed a building with bright yellow writing that said, "Lucky Lizard". Â So we went to see what it was all about.
Upon entering the place I noticed a few signs mentioning they had video poker. Â That instantly made my gut wrench giving me a flash back of Jasper's "deli" off delta.....We entered and they did have poker machines.....but maybe only 5 and they were in a small confined area completely away from the food. Â The inside was clean and seating looked rather limited. Â
All of their sandwiches were 5.95 or under. Â Had a selection of about 8 sandys or you could get a bowl of teriyaki chicken for about $6 too. Â I went with the Tri-Tip sandwich being I love tri-tip!! Â My wife got a turkey avocado cranberry that was served on a croissant. Â We got our daughter a little bit of Ambrosia salad to snack on. Â Daughter loved dipping her pickle in the salad and eating it....She's watched daddy eat too many steak fries at Red Robin I guess!
Ok.....So I guess I'll say it even though I don't want to being the guy working behind the counter was VERY friendly, VERY nice, VERY helpful.....That tri-tip sandwich was bunk. Â Infact I started the review with 3 stars due to great customer service, but that sandwich couldn't keep that 3rd star up. Â I would give them 5 stars on cleanliness and customer service, but as for the food? Â ahhh i'm sorry. Â It's a 1 star sandwich honestly. Â The tri tip didn't have any great flavor to it what so ever. Â It reminded me of a sub-par roast beef deli meat.
The gentleman working asked if it was our first time in there and we said yes, so he gave us a generous sample of their teriyaki chicken. Â It was ok....VERY VERY LEAN meat. Â Which was really nice. Â I didn't see one piece that had fat in it. Â Same for my wife's sample. Â He gave us a sweet chili sauce to put on it which did add a good taste to it.
So I hate to kick down only 2 stars after great service and a nice sample of chicken.......But really, when it comes to how the sandwiches tasted neither of us were even close to happy with it. Â We didn't have the heart to tell the guy we didn't like them.
And it could get spendy quickly being all side items are a la carte. Â 3 bucks for the salads, 1.50 for the chips, dont know the cost of drinks being we got complimentary water.
