I'm new to the area and wanted to try a nice little coffee shop. I only go to Dunkin Donuts if it's my last resort. I like giving the small businesses my money. Well, I definitely found my new, favorite, coffee shop! Â The owner/workers are so nice and accommodating to anything you'd like! Â They really strive to make the customer happy. Â Many local regulars came in as I sipped my coffee. Â They have many delicious flavors of coffee as well as bagels, sandwiches, quiche, pancakes, eggs, cream cheeses, and more!
I got a snickerdoodle coffee with a jalapeño bagel and smoked salmon lox spread--absolutely delicious and all for only $5!!  You can't beat the price never mind how good it tastes!
Main Street Cafe also has free WiFi which I'm on right now, writing this review! Â The atmosphere is country and has an "At-home" feeling. Even the bathroom is nice! Â I'm so happy I found this great, friendly, cafe! Â Yum!
I don't like to criticize local restaurants, because if they go there will be yet another Duncan Donuts in their place. We went for breakfast asking for soft scrambled eggs. They were not cooked well. The grill was too hot, the eggs were burnt, the home fries were cold and few, and the coffee was watery. It may have been the two teenagers that were covering on that weekend. We will give them another try as they are local and we are hoping for better..
Review Source:I've been here many times. There is a self serve coffee station (I love the concept), but most of the time there is no coffee left in the canisters. Don't expect them to replace the coffee when it's out even if you tell them there's none left, because they won't. Staff failed to tell my husband and I that the iced coffee was out after we ordered 2 large cups and when I mentioned it, they replied, "Must be a busy iced coffee day" and did nothing about it. The coffee is horribly watered down and I've had gas station coffee that's been much better. Also, milk for coffee is stored in an uninsulated jug at room temperature. Breakfast sandwiches are good, but not as good as Panera.
Review Source:Been here quite a few times because I live nearby. I recently went before work because I figured the coffee would be better than Dunkin donuts .. Not so. The place was not busy but I stood by the register to wait to order while the person slowly made a sandwhich for someone else.. Quite slowly. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese to go and a coffee . The coffee is self serve out of green mountain thermos things, and it was gross. It was not hot and tasted old even though it was 8 in the morning. Not very impressed.. It took  awhile for me to get my bagel and it was toasted unevenly and also the cream cheese was uneven and sloppy... There was no way to avoid getting it on my hands while I ate it. I didn't enjoy either item , and I will not return even though it's so close. Rather go to DD , and as a Starbucks girl that's pretty sad.
Review Source:Great little place with the coffee house feel of years gone by. The scones are just amazing and have so many different varieties. They do sell out early and often, so plan accordingly. I've yet to visit for their live music events, but the atmosphere makes me want to return and give it a try. It's nice to have the option to sit there quietly with free wi-fi or sit and read a book. It's a gem in a quiet suburb town.
Review Source:It's a nice place to stop in for a quick breakfast. Â Sweetie D. tried out the Swiss and Bacon Quiche, and really liked it. Â Then, she tried out the Apple Cinnamon Scone, and she LOVED it. Â I just had a bagel, but it was a good bagel. Â The coffee is delicious.
They have tons of books, and magazines for you to flip through. Â I like the place. Â It isn't really fancy, but it was pretty clean, even though it was a busy Sunday.
This is a friendly, down-home cafe that serves excellent food. I love the crab cakes. They have been happy to modify other menu items to suit my unusual aversion to cheese and my unusual affinity for bacon.
It's a great place in the western suburbs to hear music you'd usually have to travel to Boston to hear. The owners have a remarkable commitment to live music. I play the First Friday Jazz sessions (7:00-9:00 on the first Friday of the month). Once I arrived with all my equipment except for one very rare cable. One of the owners knew that one of the patrons had a kid who played bass and arranged for him to go home and bring the bass in. This commitment saved the evening and the band played on!
Parking is on street but it's always easy.
Definitely go for the food, the friendly atmosphere, and the music.
Pretty good.
We went here for lunch. Â It has that country-store feel as you walk in, random table placement and floors that give when you walk on them. Â Only open until 3:00 PM every day, so I don't know how popular their little live-music thing is, especially since they don't serve booze. Â Guess we'll find out in the near future!

You order at the counter. Â Menus are up there - some stuff is listed on the walls but there are 2 menus you need to pick up and read if you want to see everything they make. Â A breakfast one, which is the size of a placemat, and a lunch one, which is folded up and tucked beside the breakfast ones. Â It wasn't immediately apparent what was going on here and finally the lady behind the counter told us about the menus, etc. Â We were also told "No eggs benedict because it's too crazy back there". Â OK.

I got a turkey club. Â You order and they bring the food out to you. Â I don't know how they know which food goes to which table because you don't get a number or anything. Â Food didn't take too long and the sandwich was excellent. Â Nice moist turkey with a good amount of mayo, etc. Â It came with 3 thin slices of bagel that were baked with butter and were like a big bagel-chip. Â Good, but only 3? Â No chips or fries? Â I wanted desert after I cleaned my plate.
Prices were good. Â Everyone in my group quite liked what they got: soup, a salad, and another sandwich. Â The place is a little cramped and people were always walking by me, and when they did the seat and table would move because the floors are creaky and like 200 years old.
Yuppie-central here. Â I counted 5 people on their laptops here. Â On a Tuesday afternoon. Â Don't you Groton people have JOBS? Â

Atmosphere is OK - I get the country-bumpkin bit, I just wasn't in the mood for that. Â Food was really good here, though, so if you want a nice lunch I highly recommend this place.
I've been twice now to the live music Thursday nights, and had a blast both times. Â
The BYOB option is way too good to pass up, so beats the "We got BUD, BUDLIGHT, MILLER LITE, ohhhh and we just added COORS LITE!!!"
This is the perfect spot to see real talent in it's purest form.
The menus for the the shows are very well thought out and I had a hard time deciding what to choose each time. Â I have a feeling, whatever I chose would have been great, as the mine, and those served around me were fresh and appetizing.
Will definitely be back for more!
I just returned from the Chesapeake Bay area and have to say, Carolyn's crabcakes compete with or top the best ones I had there: no fillers, wonderful seasonings, so delicious! We thoroughly enjoy attending Acoustic Cafe and seeing the emerging and established talent Bob attracts every Thursday night. People in town are always saying they wish there was more to do at night--well, it's right there for you, check it out!
Review Source:I originally had a negative review about Main St. Cafe here, but went back a few more times and am slowly changing my mind. Â I still don't recommend going here if you're in a hurry -- even if you order a bagel and coffee, it could take 15 minutes; however if you have the time to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere, do it! Â Their crepes are wonderful, and egg sandwiches with home fries are too. Â I'm still a little so/so on the coffee, but I feel like that too is trying to improve.
Review Source:Went here for breakfast a week and a half ago. It was OK. Home fries were better than OK, Omelette was exactly OK, blueberry pancakes were a little below OK. Coffee and hot chocolate were OK. Service was slower than OK. They actually forgot to make two of the meals for a party of 6 seated behind us.
My dad goes here frequently, and swears that they do poached eggs on toast better than anyone else around, and that's his go to breakfast, so much better than OK there.
I guess I'd go again.
I met with friends ere for breakfast recently after a long absence. Under the previous owners the coffee was terrible, but with new ownership/management I was up for giving it another try.
The Eggs Benedict (my personal breakfast place benchmark) was quite good with plenty of sauce to et some with ever bite. This is usually where most fall short in my book. They didn't let me down.
And yes, the coffee is much better. I haven't tried the lattes yet, but would be willing to do so now.
It's a great place and it looks like they've gotten back up to speed since the new folks took over. I'll definitely return for another meal and coffee.
I've got to rate this place with 3 starts...I would say its a cross between 2 and 3. Not a bad little place. Very clean, quaint and homey, and the staff was very polite. Great breakfast menu available all day long...and they have some yummy choices if you like omelettes. I had a grilled chicken wrap. I asked for pickles and tomato on it, however was disapointed that despite the fact they werent swamped AND the woman behind the counter wrote down what I wanted, they still managed to leave out the tomato and pickle.
I would try this place again, but it wouldnt be my first choice. Seems very overpriced. I paid over $10 for a bottle of juice and a wrap. I must agree with the other reviews, they must not be paying much attention to what they're doing...
After the disgusting and fraudulent service I got on my first trip, I will never come back to this restaurant as long as I live.
Returning from vacation on Mother's Day, my girlfriend and I decided to stop in Main St. Cafe because it looked cute and the menu was attractive.
Before we committed to the place, I asked the teenager who was busing tables, "How long are you serving brunch today?"
She immediately copped 'tude for no reason. Â "Brunch is right there!" she said in her snottiest Valley Girl voice. Â ("You idiot" was clearly implied in the tone.) Â No, I said, I'm not asking WHERE IT IS. Â I'm asking WHEN IT ENDS so you don't start taking food away before we're done eating.
But that's not the part that pisses me off. Â Read on.
When we get to the counter--did I mention there's no table service?--my gf and I order entrées, not brunch  buffet.  My girlfriend repeats her order TWICE for a particular type of sandwich with one minor modification:  No sausage.  (The girl's been a vegetarian since 12.)
When she gets her food, it has sausage on it. Â OK, no problem: Â everyone makes mistakes. Â When she politely sends it back behind the counter (which you can see over from where gf was sitting), the owner of the restaurant double-checks to make sure that my lady had specified "no sausage." Â Remember, she's a hardcore vegetarian so she mentioned that TWICE!
So instead of going back and making a vegetarian version of the sandwich, the worthless, flea-infested, mentally-retarded staff just scrapes the sausage off of the sandwich, leaving meat grease all over. Â And they have the gall to serve this to someone who hasn't eaten meat in over 15 years as if she wouldn't know the difference!
It's not just that these people are too stupid to run a restaurant. Â (Yes, that's true.) Â It's also that they're fundamentally dishonest. Â They can't properly complete an order (which any moron should be able to do) and they aren't even straightforward enough to apologize and make things right. Â Instead they engage in fraud.
The shitty "people" who run this café are scumbags and assholes.  I guess this is what happens when you drop a baby on its head again and again.
