You have not felt true bliss unless you have sat at the bar and enjoyed a tall, cold Bell's from the tap at The Main Street Stable. The food is excellent (Walleye or perch is usually on the menu somewhere.) and the ambiance is warm and cozy. A converted stable! C'mon, whats not to love?
Totally recommended.
Good meal!
Was in Adrian for business and got recommended to visit Main Street Stable. Went in on a Thursday night around 7:30pm. Place was empty. There was only one table that I saw. Grabbed a seat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and attentive throughout.
Food was really good! Started with the Jalapeno and cheddar spread. The pita bread came out extremely warm! The spread was delicious. The serving was huge! I only ate about 1/4 of it.
Had the pork chop with a peach chipotle gaze with a baked potato and green bean. Everything was cooked really well and tasted fabulous. The only con was the presentation of the main meal. Butter packets for the baked potato just seemed out of place on such a well put together meal.
Bartender recommended the blueberry pie and she didn't let me down. Home made and stuff with tons of blueberries.
I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again next time I'm in Adrian.
Everything I have ordered here has been exceptional...everything my husband has ordered here has been sent back for being improperly cooked. I think they are just really hit or miss on entrees. The chocolate bread pudding is amazing. The wait staff is slowed down by how long it takes the kitchen to cook a meal. Only go if you have 2 hours or more for dinner and a lot to talk about.
Review Source:In Blissfield? Really?? Wow. This place is good. We were staying at the Blissfield B&B next door, Â and we literally walked out the back yard and into this place for drinks and dinner. We sat for a long time, ordered several slow courses, enjoyed some very interesting brews both on draft and in bottles, and were very gratified.
We had a calamari appetizer, shared a sea bass special and an arugula salad for the main course, and tried some deep dish blueberry pie for dessert. All were very good.
I had a Dark Horse Rod Ale on draft which was said to be brewed with aphrodisiac herbs. I'm not going to comment on the efficacy of those, but the beer was outstanding. My husband tried a couple of interesting bottled Anchor beers, which we also liked a lot. I wish this place had more taps, since someone obviously has terrific taste in beer.
I am taking off one star because of our server. She appeared to be about 15 years old and had one of the loudest and most grating speaking voices I have ever heard. We asked her a question about one of the tap beers and she said that it sounded disgusting so she had never tried it. My husband said, "You're really selling that, aren't you?" LOL. She was quick, and she never made a mistake, to her credit. She also caught on that we were settling in for a long meal and she was very nice about that.
All in all - I really recommend this place, as well as the Blissfield B&B, which I have also reviewed.
Took my wife and kids on a Saturday night. Â Good crowd but we could sit quickly and the staff was fantastic. Â They have plenty of people and they all seem to be busy but not crazed. Â We were greeted warmly and the kids loved the visuals, all the college pennants, you can play "I spy" forever.
Quality American food. Â I went with a recco by the server for some fish and sides she suggested. Â All were great. Â My girls loved the fresh bread, Â and applesauce to start. Â The food came out promptly and everything was great. Â
They have a good beer selection, far better than what I would think is available in little Blissfield. Â The cost is above average but if you have an experience like ours, you won't feel short changed. Â
Go with friends, go with family. Â Enjoy!
Take one step into the foyer of this delightful joint and feel the warmth of the rustic walls and primative decorations. Â This is a far cry from a 'stable' ...named and decorated in memory of it's past as the barn to the main house...which is now the 'hathaway house'. Â
The staff members are warm and friendly...very knowledgable on the menu and eager to help with selection. Â
Kids are welcome ..the noise from the chatty customers will surely out shout any rambuntious youth. Â Somehow it always seems sooo loud. Â Maybe it is the starkness...no curtains or rugs...Wood floors to match the walls. Â It is a dark place that is some how is much like a secret fort in a tree.
The food is traditional and yummy....Burgers, sandwiches, fries, baked potatoes....Nothing too terribly fancy...just yummy! Â
My favorite is the french dip. Â It is served on a crusty bread with tender roast beef shavings and of course 'the dip' on the side! Â Some places serve beef bullion , but no here...no way! Â It is aus juice....Yummmm! Â Throw along a crunchy dill pickle and viola...perfect late nite supper!
The prices...For Blissfield they are a bit high, but in Comparison to it's mother ship the Hathaway House ...they are fair. Â
This is one place that I regularly visit while in town!
