The walleye is fabulous, and so are the lettuce wraps!
The service from the wait staff is great too!

its hard to write a review of Malones because there are a lot of good and bad parts to this place depending on what you are looking for.

Food - LOVE their cheese curds. Really good burgers, super fresh and crisp salads. entrees are pretty big in size and tasty as well. I haven't had anything here that has disappointed my taste buds.

Staff - they have always seemed friendly to me. But they can get a little busy and after you have been served, don't expect them to come back. The restaurant tries to turn you over as quickly as possible. Even if you are seated in the bar area.

Atmosphere - Busy, Loud, and Fun if you are looking for that. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat dinner, DONT COME HERE. the bar is 65% of the restaurant and it is LOUD. The music is turned up, so accordingly, people have to talk louder to hear eachother. Plenty of TVs to watch your sporting event.

price is pretty accurate to me, more than apple bees, but cheaper than Redstone.

Pretty restaurant with a big bar and lots of big screen tvs.  I love comfy booths and linen napkins. Pleased with menu choices. It was pretty busy at 2 pm on a Thursday.  Service was good. It's a comebacker.

Saturday, early PM visit for lunch.  They have a real nice omelette special every weekend- comes with legit American fries and toast - and a Mimosa-for $7.99.  Can't beat it.  The others in my party ordered burgers-very well done and- surprise- the waffle fries were super fresh.  Serving hot potato side dishes is difficult for most restaurants.  Anyway, they should arrive fresh because they're an extra cost add-on.  Verdict:  Typical Malones experience- good quality food, not cheap- but still feels like good value. Very good service.  Avoid the bar- music too loud.  All TV's were showing the same sports channel.

Food was great and service was very fast!  Prices on the food were just a tiny bit high in my opinion but the drink prices were great.  Would definitely eat here again!

Great service, very good food. The Tuesday night steak special is awesome. Wendy was a great server.. She even sang a solo "happy birthday" to my friend.

On a Friday night we were out shopping and decided to give this place a try. Ended only having to wait about 5 minutes before getting seated. The waitress was great she kept up with our drinks and was very nice. Ordered an appitizer of the chicken wings with the firecracker sauce and they were some of the best wings that ive had at a bar. For dinner I had the cuban sandwhich and that was very good. Going to be returning real soon.

The appetizers are huge, and are actually big enough for a group.  I was impressed.  The deep fried mushrooms were excellent.
For the main course, the server offered a special, which was a glazed salmon with grilled romaine salad and new potatoes.  Overall, it was a decent dish.  My wife had a flatbread pizza that was good.  I wouldn't consider this place to be extremely high quality, but for a sport bar type place, it's definitely much better than Champps.  Some of the items on the menu didn't really belong on there.  This place has a lot of asian dishes, and it's intermingled with American cuisine and some italian, as well as typical pub fare.  I had to mark them down for this, because you really don't have much identity with this.
It's a great place to go to watch a sports game or get drinks and food after work.

Food was good, drinks were fabulous,  and when we tried to make reservations ...it just went to hell!  Couldn't accommodate 20 people anywhere.  Forget the great service by Lou...and remember Kevin blew it all for this opportunity!  This is the most inflexible restaurant I have encountered.

Nacho's Nacho's Nacho's!!! Get the beef nachos as an appetizer or for yourself. Individual Nacho's covered with beef and cheese and no chip left un-cheesed! all sorts of goodies to throw on top too!!

I then had the kung pao wings and even though the waitress said the sauces are spicy, i expected ALOT more POW than was delivered. They came out crispy though with is how I like my wings ( no blood please)

Will go back for sure and will get the nacho's for just myself this time.

As soon as I pulled into Malones, I could tell it was not my type of place but because I was meeting some friends, and they picked the place, I had to go in.

We sat in the dining area so I can not speak to the bar crowd but it sure was crowded and loud.  There was a nice mixture of people in both areas ages ranging from twenties to sixties.  (You have to go through the bar to get to the restrooms).

I just ordered drinks but I loved my key lime pie martinis!!!!! Others ordered food at my table but nothing looked that great to me, especially for the price.  I did taste a breaded mushroom and cheese curd but neither made my hand reach for another. Nothing bad but just bar food.  Although I had a five ++ star time with this particular group of people, that would remain constant no matter where we were, so I can not give Malones credit for that.

Would I ever come back here again?  Probably not unless this same group met here again.  There is nothing wrong with the place, just nothing that great to make me want to return.

    Maple Grove

I've only met friends there for lunch.  Nice atmosphere.  Enjoy the daily specials - - nicely presented and yummy. Staff has always been nice and attentive.  Beautiful remodel of an out-of-date steak house. Like the outdoor seating area.  New waiting area. Convenient parking.  Terrific location for shopping. A welcomed addition to our community.

Let begin with this. I am from Maple Grove and currently reside here. People from around here understand what this place has done to Maple Grove, somewhere to FINALLY drink if you do not want to drive downtown/Uptown. It's a place for a mini high school reunion if you want to catch up with old mates who went to Maple Grove High School. I have been here many times during the weekend to pre-game before venturing elsewhere. I am sick of seeing the SAME people here every time I go. It tends to get annoying.

The weekday crowd is typically your 30-50 year old adults who are either single, stuck up or just want to cheat on their spouse. (trust me I have seen it done here before.)

Other than that the place is pretty nice inside and out. The patio is pretty hoppin in the summer time and the place offers games outside. (bean bag toss, etc.)

The servers/staff are decent and provide sub par service. When it does get busy though, they tend to be a little slow delivering drinks, but that's understandable. The appetizers are great during happy hour since their price points are pretty good.

If you are in the area to do some shopping at the Arbor Lakes outdoor mall, going to the AMC movie theater within walking distance (2 min walk),  this is a good place to grab a drink and some grub.

Otherwise if you just want drinks in Maple Grove, this is probably your best bet. It beats the TGI Fridays, The Lookout and sometimes even the Wild Bills across the street. Hope my review helps you out.

My boyfriend loves going to this place, so I really wish I liked it.  Here's the run-down on why I've experienced better.

    1. They serve Chinese food in their brunch buffet when all I really want are some cheesy scrambled eggs.  Not a problem when brunch is at noon, but not my fave at 10am

    2. I don't drink beer, and they don't have great happy hour prices for anything else

    3. I've experienced rude waitresses on multiple occasions.  I get it, I really do.  But can we all at least PRETEND to be having a good time?

    4. Drunken MG townies at all hours of the day.  Not normally a problem, but gets uncomfortable when they feel the need to intrude on my bubble of personal space when I'm on my way to the restroom

However, I do love their burgers and also the seasoned sour cream that accompanies their waffle fries, so I suppose even Malone's has a redeeming factor or two.

Hands down the best Happy Hour in Maple grove. Great portions at an unbeatable price.  We love the clean open atmosphere of the bar

I was underwhelmed by a recent dinner at Malone's in Maple Grove. The old Timberlodge Steak House look has been dulled even further into a standard bar and grill motif and the food doesn't do much to elevate it.
Big, varied menu which I'm always a little dubious of. I prefer a place that finds their niche and cultivates it rather than offering a lot of choices that are just OK. Malone's has burgers, pastas, steaks, fish, salads and then, somewhat randomly, Chinese food. None of us went for the latter.
The dining room is noisy, the bar overcrowded and the wait unnecessarily long for what you're actually waiting for. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

If I was given a bunch of money and asked to design a restaurant and bar in the Burbs of MN would it be; Big bar, lots of TVs, open area...wait, that's Champs, Buffalo Wild Wings or a half dozen other places.

The bar service here is bad.  and seeing how half the room is bar that's not a good thing.  The food is pretty good but on the OK side.  The really disappointing thing is this is owned by the same people that own Maynard's and they have exactly the same menu!  Pretty lame that you can't be a little more creative, I guess you can really buy in bulk this way.  The service and atmosphere are much better at Maynard's, why wouldn't I just drive the extra 10 miles?

Like I said the food is OK, the service can be much better but the place is always packed and I guess they used that magic formula for success in the suburbs!  Good for them, I'll spend my money elsewhere!

Personally I think Malone's offers the best food in Maple Grove.  Everything I have had is very good and the service is usually good as well.

I went to the bar with my mom...and little sister and one of my older sisters.  We asked to sit in the bar area, so me and the "of age" sister could get in on the late night happy hour specials.  We took advantage of the $4 Margaritas and $3.50 Jumbo beers on tap.  One jumbo beer = tipsy Gina.

We had a booth so it didn't feel like a bar, but it sure sounded like a bar.  The music and noise was so loud.  The service was great, we absolutely LOVED our server.  He was good looking and honest.  My older sister asked about the lettuce wraps and his response was, "You know PF Chang's lettuce wraps...they're not that good.  But they are good."  She got them and they were exactly that, good but not as good as PF Chang's.

I had the smoked chicken panini sandwich: chicken, provolone, basil aioli, portabella mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and basil aioli on grilled sourdough.  It was perfectly delicious!

The food is A-Okay but the service put this night up a notch for sure.  My sister went as far as suggesting we set our server up with our other sister (who wasn't with us).  I think everyone was impressed with the irresistibly likable service.

Um, I prefer my buffalo wings fully-cooked, and with lots of delicious sauce. You won't get that here. Waffle fries are salt and pepper fries, the seasoned dour cream us anything but. Service is sub-par. Good luck getting service unless you know the owner.

like David, I came and found the Tuesday night sirloin special for 9.95. Really nice steak and pretty big serving still! service is excellent with the waitress really friendly and attentive.
easy parking, good, clean atmosphere. lots of sports on the tv.
nice homely place for a gathering i think.
the specials seem pretty good value if the steak was anything to go by!

Good service, OK prices, good food, clean interior.

Came here to meet up with a group of about 10 friends for dinner.  Found out via the website that Tuesday nights are $9.95 Sirloin special.  Quite a few of us got the special and it was very good.  Great price as well.  Beers were somewhat expensive for a Tuesday night.  $6 for a big mug.  Most shots were around $5.  Regular entrees were $13-20.

The service was very good, quick drink refills, wait staff that came back often, and reservations that were on time.

This place has tons of very large TVs that are all brand new.  If you are looking for a good place to watch sports, I'm not sure of the packages they have, but they have tons of nice TVs especially in the bar area.

Overall, I would recommend this establishment if you are looking for an easy choice that many would enjoy.  Great staff, good food, fair prices, and lots of beer on tap.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This is a busy night for bars and restaurants. While it was busy here, they handled it well. We were seated promptly and the waitress held her own.  The food was decently priced, and was really quite good.
It seems a lot of new places have kinks to work out when they first open, but this place didn't seem to have that problem.
You'd never know this used to be an old Timberlodge.  The remodel makes the space feel welcoming and warm.
    We will be back!

Just got back from my first and last visit to Malones.  I ordered a flat bread pizza and it came out cold.  The service was very slow.  I was not impressed.
