The best thing about this place is the location and the view. Although it is off a busier road, the view of the water and the activity is always entertaining!
The service here was terrible, although it wasn't 100% the servers fault. I feel like she is way overworked and just didn't have enough time to take care of everyone (or the skill/expertise). This place needs to hire more people. We constantly had to ask for things multiple times.
This place ALSO needs to learn how to shuck their oysters correctly. Terrible. I mean, awful. I almost broke a tooth with all the shell debris. Plus, they need to learn to also remove the oyster from it's muscle! argh!
We got the 6 oysters, mussels, Shrimp Floridian and Clams and Linguine. The oysters were just done wrong, the mussels were OK and the two pasta dishes were also just average. HUGE portions, but average.
I would have to say this place really deserves 2 stars because of the mediocre experience all around. mediocre service, mediocre food. But the location is fun, and that was what was most entertaining about it!
Will I return? Sure. But next time I'm going to stick with my gut and try the shepard's pie.
We stopped by on a Saturday evening about 9PM. Â The place was pretty busy and we had to sit near the bar. Â The evening started off ok, but went downhill quickly. Â Once I finally got my burger, the bun was burnt, like near solid black on the burger sides. Â The fries were ok, but portions were pretty small. Â One person ordered a salad and it too almost 30 minutes to arrive.
The service was just horrid. Â It took 10 min to order and probably 10 more to get our drinks though we were just feet from the bar. Â My burger arrived while my drink simultaneously ran dry. Â It stayed dry, though we tried staring down the wait staff, no one would look or acknowledge our presence. Â To eat with no drink is a rule I do not break nor forgive. Â It literally took almost 30 minutes to get a refill and that is after I got up and hunted someone down.
I've only been once and hope what I experienced was a fluke. Â Good luck to those who try the place, you may want to pack bottled water.
We ate at the backyard. Â The drinks were adequate. Â The food was poor. Â I had the seafood etouffee. Â To start with it should have been just called shrimp etouffee, my whole plate was about 20 shrimp and just three crawfish. Â The biggest problems were the shrimp tasted old and frozen and in a stew like dish the shrimp still had the tails on them, forcing me to have to remove them and then reintroduce them to the dish.. Â Frozen shrimp or shrimp that taste frozen should never be served so close to the ocean. Â My wife had the Cajun pasta and had the same problems with the shrimp. Â Our friend had the jerk chicken, which lacked either jerk rub or sauce.
