Went here for a friends birthday. Â Quite frankly, I never heard of this place until I was invited here, this restaurant acts like it doesn't want to be found. Â It's a rather small little place on the south side of Ogden Avenue. Â It doesn't really shout out what kind of place it is, just a dark red awning that says Mi Casa.
Interior of the facility is very mininalist, about a dozen tables, lots of windows. Â You go inside and you're not sure you're in a restaurant, but you are. Â Menu has some of the basic mexican dishes, a selection of beers and a variety of tequila based drinks.
Ordered chorizo quesadilla's, steak fajuita and a margarita. Â Margarita came first and to be honest I had better. Â Took a while for the quesadilla to arrive. Â Once it did, I found that it was salty and very very greasy. Â Almost like a greaseball pepperoni pizza. Â Here's a chance for the fajuita to come through....nope. Â Stuff was overly seasoned and salty, natural flavor of the beef and vegetables was lost.
Service was friendly but slow. Â Sorry folks, there are just too many outstanding mexican restaurants for me to give this place another shot.
Tried to go to Lalo's, but couldn't find a parking spot near the place, so I asked my GPS for a Mexican restaurant and Mi Casa was the closest so we gave it a try.
Not a single person was in the place, which made me think twice. Â However, our food was great and the owners were fantastic. Â We ordered a chicken dish, a steak disk, and tacos. Â All three entrees were excellent.
This is a hidden gem. Â I hope more people find this place.
