I was contacted by ale house Daytona's GM and we had a very productive conversation. I explained to him that I was very upset by the demeanor of his manager and concerned about the incedents of overcharging either accidentally or possibly on purpose. I can't remember the general managers name but he conducted the conversation in an intelligent and cordial manner as it should have been handled by lower management that night. And, my complaint was addressed 1 hour after filing it on AH "contact us link" on their site.
Knowing that my encounter that evening was promptly addressed tells me that AH is upstanding and does care about their local customers and what's going on at their establishments, I can appreciate that.
So yes, We will continue to patronize Ale House as my co workers and I have for years.
My husband and I took my daughter and a friend there for her birthday on Sunday and it was a huge disappointment from beginning to end. The hostess seated a party of 5 in front of us and never came back! Finally, one of the servers came and seated us at a booth and took drink orders. The coffee came and still no actual server or other drinks. In what seemed like forever, Brian came by and checked about our drinks and said he would take care of it. He eventually brought our drinks and through process of elimination decided "I guess I'll be your server".
We ordered lobster bisque, tuna melt, fish and chips, fish sandwich and the prime rib sandwich. Two with regular fries and 2 with sweet potato fries.
First off, the lobster bisque came in a HUGE shallow bowl filled with not hardly enough soup to fill a coffee cup. I guess they figure they can disguise the fact that you're not getting much by serving it in an over sized dish. The tuna melt was served as 2 open face sandwiches and my daughters friend  asked, what am I supposed to do with this, how am I supposed to eat it?!  The fish on the sandwich and as part of the fish & chips  was bland a greasy, although there was enough for 3 people in the basket. The prime rib sandwich was AWFUL! It came as a very thin slice of meat that was blackened. Now, I don't care much for prime rib, but I have never seen it grilled or blackened like this one. Way over cooked as well. The sweet potato fries were nothing to write home about and the regular fries were way under cooked.
As if it wasn't bad enough the food being horrible, the service was slow too and they weren't very busy. Brian brought our check when we said we were finished, and we waited for almost another ten minutes for him to come back. We ended up leaving our payment on the table and left without ever seeing him again.
I gave this place one star only because there wasn't a "no star" category. We won't be back.
Got a seat fast with stuff going on at the track. The good thing first, the fried mozzarella was great. My friend had talked this place up a ton and the prime rib sandwich and it sounded good so I went for it. It came to the table and it was blackened alright and tasted like it. It was not good and was just four small pieces of prime rib and nothing on it! Not a good sandwich at all.
Review Source:OK... Let me preface this review by stating that this would be a 5 star review if they wouldn't have destroyed my now wife's and my rehearsal dinner by double booking the back room. I booked the outside porch a week in advance and when we arrived we had 30 people standing around while the manager just stood there apologizing. I used to work in the restaurant industry and know that mistakes happen so I can now brush that off as a Wedding memory with no hard feelings. Â
Now on to the good stuff. The food is GREAT! Not only are their burgers good, but they have some fish that is to die for. I actually think the best thing on their menu is the Cobb Salad. It is huge and is very flavorful.
All in All I would recommend Miller's Ale House to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced restaurant with good service and great beer. I am very pleased (apart from the Wedding debacle).
Pretty good food and cheap prices. This is a great place to get cheap beer and watch some football. There is plenty of seating for this location. There is also an outside sitting for this area. Sometimes it gets really busy but this night it was pretty dead. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and kept our drinks filled.
Review Source:Wheres the flavor ?? I cant speak for the rest of their menu but my food was very bland. I had the lobster bisque.....terrible! Â Also had the 35 shrimp pasta alfredo....terrible! Sure the atmosphere was cool, however Daytona has a lot of places with a cool atmosphere that also have delicious food.
Review Source:A true sports bar. The high points are the sports (on their many flat screens) and their bar. That's pretty much it.
The food is average. Nothing to blow your socks off! I like that the menu has a really great variety and they have some great lunch specials. Service really never wows you and sometimes there is no one at the hostess stand. But there is always a good crowd! There is also decent seating...I have never seen too much of a wait.
We chose Daytona (Miller's) Ale House for the last night of our trip simply because it was very close to us. When we walked in there was no hostess and we weren't even sure if we should seat ourselves. After a few minutes she walked up and seated us promptly. After looking at the menu I chose to get the seafood bake and my husband was going to get a steak. Once the waitress came she told us I could not get the seafood because they were out and they were also out of crab meat so I couldn't get my second choice either. (Mind you this was also the Sunday of the Daytona 500 so I can completely understand that they had been slammed and were out, yet the waitress made a quick "Can't get it sorry" so I wished she would have been a little more sympathetic because it was not our fault they were out) So my husband and I both got the New York Strip. The meat was a big portion and it was juicy, the sides however were bland (and I don't eat a lot of salt with things and it was even too bland for me) the steamed vegetables needed a lot of salt to even be somewhat tasteful and my potato came with butter and sour cream on the side, again it needed a lot of salt and pepper to be edible. The service was okay but for the price of 2 entrees to only really enjoy the steak was upsetting, next time we will go to one of the other choices down the road.
Review Source:Forget about their seafood section.. snapper/shrimps etc. I'm not saying they tasted bad... they are just ALRIGHT.
For mains, go for the steaks and ribs. They wont go wrong and come reasonably priced. Did I mention a full rack of ribs costs 10.99 on Monday dinners?
If you have a sweet tooth, "Buried Treasure Ice-cream cake" is a good way to end your meal with. Who doesnt like desserts?
My family and I went to the Ale House last night and overall we had a great time. The staff was dressed up for Halloween which was nice to see the festive mood. The service was okay but could've been better.
Two of us ordered the massive Seafood Combo which was good but the batter could use some help... It was falling off of my scallops. Overall, the fish was good, fries were great, and the coleslaw was delicious.
My fiance and his mom ordered the Baby Back Ribs. They only ate half the rack because they both said (and I had to agree with them) they didn't taste that good. They were lacking sauce and overall weren't very appealing.
Overall- service was okay, food was decent, and the beer was cold. We have all agreed to come back again to try something else.
If you've been to one Ale House, you've been to them all.
They got's beers, They got's food and They got's a bunch of TV's for watching any football game on at any time.
I really like getting the nuclear wings mixed with the garlic wing sauce, it's not endearing me to any lady-folk but it sure is tasty!
We have been to the Daytona Ale House a bunch of times. We always stop on our way down to South Florida. It's a great change from all the other food choices along route 95.
Their main signature dishes include their zinger sauce Whig is basically spicy buffalo sauced used on wings, but this is not just a spicy chicken place. Their are plenty of food other choices for the whole family. Great appetizers , seafood dishes and salad.
The bar has plenty of beers on tap, probably around 20. The seating in very comfortable with large comfortable tables.
Make sure you try the jalapeno poppers. Their poppers are unique and probably the best I've ever had.
The prices are very good for the quantity of food received. T
If I could give the Ale House 4.5 stars I would. The only reason I could not give 5 stars because some of the dishes are kind of generic tasking, i.e. the chicken nachos. They are not very "Mexican" but OK. Some of the dishes are great and some are OK.
Try the Ale House. It has great tasting food for everyone in your party at a great price. I will be returning to soon to the ALE House, maybe even tonight to get some of those jalapeno poppers!
The food is generally good, a few things are quite amazing bar food. That is just what it is, bar food.
However, the service is always, always terrible. Perhaps the servers have sections that are too large, but I always feel I am waiting quite a long time for anything. This is the kind of place where it's wise to order two drinks at a time, or a pitcher because it is going to take at least ten minutes until you see your server again.
Food:
1. The chicken wings, fried shrimp, and loaded fries are amazing! The captain dessert thing is good if you happen to like chocolate and chocolate sauce (I do not and my ice cream was melting by the time it was brought out to me).
2. All the other food I've tried (including clam strips, steak, burgers, thai chicken, fish) is completely bland and not worth it. I will no longer deviate from the items listed above.
Drinks:
Good selection of domestic beer I suppose ($5 pitchers of somethings I can't remember). I only go for the mixed drinks and they are pretty good.
Atmosphere:
Friendly waitresses, big tvs, 2 pool tables, bar table section and regular table section. There is an outside patio if you want to smoke.
Triva Night:
Tuesdays: there is a game at 8:30pm and another at 10:30pm. Your team can win bar tabs (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). Don't forget to think of a funny or somewhat inappropriate team name.
I like the Ale House and try to go when I am in Daytona. Â Yea, it's your typical place, but I like the openness and airy feeling to it. Â There are TV"s in every direction that you look and even during a busy Sunday game, the crowd isn't too loud. Â I went with my kids and they weren't bothered by it at all. Â But then again, they are my kids........
The food is good. Â What is not predictable about it is the portions. Â They are huge. Â The Seafood Salad at $11.95 is enough for one guy or two girls. Â The kids pizza is full of melted cheese and they have a Seafood Broil Platter that is wonderful.
The staff have always been friendly and likeable. Â I have never had to sit and wait on anything. Â Napkins and refills have always hit my table right on time!
I guess the name Daytona Ale House could seem misleading to someone that is not from the area. The Ale House chain is operated by Miller Brewing company and the history of this central Florida chain is clearly outlined on the menu. The food is not spectacular but it is an excellent quality for the price. The drink specials are usually unbelivably low, especially on Miller products. Overall, this is a great resturant with a great atmosphere that has been poorly reviewed by a few people too lazy to do their research.
Review Source:I made my second visit to the Daytona Ale House on a recent trip down south. Â It's a very large sports bar/family restaurant type place. Â It's so big that unless you are there during the week of a race, there shouldn't be a wait. Â They have great drink specials, most of them every day. Â ($1.75 Miller Lite pints!). Â Food items are typical of a bar but they also have 'dinner' type selections (prime rib, etc). Â In both my visits, I found everyone on staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Â It may be a little hard to find, it's tucked away in a corner of multiple shopping mall strips but worth a visit or two.
