As ya'll probably do, I love researching places to eat before I travel to a new town. After doing so to get ready for my trip for CO, I was super excited about going to Mothers.
So on a Saturday when we show up and who I think is the manager (but don't quote me on that) comes right up to me and says..."you can go to the bar, but we're all out of food."
Me..."Ummmmmmm, what!?"
Dude..." Yeah, the rodeo is in town, we had about 200 people come through in a matter of 2 hours. We don't have any food left."
Me..."Ummmm, ooookaaaay. We'll just go have a drink then. I guess."
Not weird at all, riiiight!?!
So we go to the bar. Sit down. Bartender comes up to use after a few min. Asked for a Mai Tai #justbecause, and Dude didn't even know what was in it. Umm, what, It's a classic drink that every bartender should know how to make. But it's not like we're anywhere near a beach, so I'll give him  some slake on that. Asked for a few different liquors, that they didn't have so dude said that he couple make us mojitos. I said okay, but buddy we with a beer. Good for buddy cause it took what seemed like forever to get a thirst quencher. We were able to speak to another couple that were super nice and made our time there nice with good conversation.
The next day after river rafting, we were super hungry an walked by to see if they the RESTAURANT had any food, but they were closed.
The place was kinda cute, and would have loved to have tried their food. Maybe next time Ma'!
We've eaten indoors at Mother's and Daughter's and outdoors at Daughter's, all have been great experiences. Â Taco Tuesdays are very good, great flavor but one request I would make, a little more on the meat please, it's pretty sparse. Â I know it's only a $2 taco but I'd rather pay $3 and feel like I was getting a real taco. Â High on flavor, low on quantity.
Review Source:Came across this bistro while roaming Buena Vista and my wife and I are sure glad we stopped for lunch. We got two wraps (hummus wrap and turkey wrap). The hummus is homemade and fantastic. We also got the ginger peach tea, which was wonderful.
Atmosphere was cozy and unique. Customer service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
Only complaint is we could buy any of the hummus or tea to use or make later back home in Kansas!
