Mungia's BBQ Restaurant & Catering

This BBQ is heaven. Mr Mungia has been in business for years loves his food and his customers. The price for all you can eat meat is AMAZING.

Tasty, tasty place.

Everything is family style.  You get brisket, ribs, sausage for meat.  The sides are corn, pinto beans, cole slaw, potato salad.

The slaw is vinegar based and that is my favorite.  

Brisket was moist and tender.  My dining companion was pleasantly surprised when he picked his rib up by the meat and the bone fell out.

It was a 5-star experience the other night at Mungia's.  I'm so glad these guys are located in Austin, otherwise I would be a regular every week and would have to get a new pair of pants after every visit.  No kidding here.  

Here's why it was 5-stars on this night:
- It was damn cold outside (30's), yet all of my food came out piping hot - - everything was extremely fresh.
- The ribs were out of this world - - smokey flavor, plenty of seasoning, and the outside skin was crispy and flavorful.  I just couldn't get enough.
- The corn on the cob and cole slaw were superb.
- The brisket was smokey, very thinly sliced (the owner said he got a new cutter who cut it too thin - - although I didn't mind).  You could roll it up and dip it into the sauce and you're good to go.
- The sausage was very good, plump and juicy.
- The brioche bread was excellent today, very fresh.  They get it from a local baker (like Clem's)
- I met the owner - - he was very nice and appreciative of my business, very accommodating and eager to please.  

For $10.95 + tax you get all you can eat corn, cole slaw, potato salad, bread, beans, brisket, sausage, and ribs - - and it all tastes great!

I'm sorry, but that's just too hard to beat.  Great food, great price, and great service.  Clems and Fat Boys could learn some valuable lessons from Mr. Mungia!
