I've been to this restaurant before and don't remember it being quite as bad as it was on this particular evening. We arrived around 5:30, a party of four for dinner. There was only one other couple there.
We had to have sat for fifteen minutes making small talk before the waitress showed up to inform us that she was sorry and would be back to take our drink order after she waited on the other couple. When she finally came back she informed me that they did not have an ABC license even though beer and wine is on the menu.
Since we had waited so long we also proceeded to give our food order at which time she informed us that they were out of any and every kind of fish (On the way out I noticed that the water in the fish tank at the check out counter was neon green. The other fish obviously sensed the neglect and refused to patronize the establishment).
One of the party members requested a salad at which time the waitress asked if she would like to make her own. We ordered two steak salads, a grilled chicken salad, and a fried chicken salad. Garlic bread was also requested and served with a small container of pasta sauce. The bread and sauce were mediocre.
The only positive experience was that the food did not take forever and it wasn't bad. They were large salads and only one of the group of four were able to finish theirs although he received noticeably more steak than the other gentleman.
The chicken salads were both large and the waitress, who I will graciously note must have been new, was pleasant and accommodating concerning the amount and type of toppings. The chicken was up to par and not under or over cooked.
On the way out I noticed that the water in the fish tank at the check out counter was neon green. The other fish obviously sensed the danger and refused to patronize the establishment.
If in the area Mama Rosa's is your best bet for Italian.
