Used to be sorta "infamous" and in turn legendary. Â There is a new owner of the building now (but the bar itself has the same owner) and with the gentrification of downtown and the improved route 18, its days are probably numbered as it looks today. Â Stop in while you can to soak up the ambiance.
Review Source:This place is an authentic fisherman's bar, with the best prices on drinks and cigarettes in all of Massachusetts as far as I can tell. There is a jukebox, pool table, and apparently has in the past served the best clam chowder to be had anywhere, however the kitchen has been temporarily / permanently shut down. The National Club is fabulously and hopelessly DIVEY. Do not go here if you want a frilly drink or classy ambience. You will get good drinks at low prices and have a story to tell your grandkids.
