No windows here, as it's located in the basement of the Best Western Granite Inn hotel. (Difficult to access for the handicapped.) Even so, it's an okay place to eat a meal or two. Standard chain restaurant fare, so don't expect anything spectacular. Average prices, too. Staff is friendly and attentive enough. And seating is fairly comfortable. I guess the best part about this place, though, is the fact that cell phone service is poor because you're in a basement, so your partner has little choice but to engage in face to face conversation! Then again, I suppose they could watch TV instead. Sigh.
Review Source:Ate there twice and love it! Going back for dessert today :-)
Food is awesome. Very flavorful and great variety!
I love that they offer a great and healthy selection of sides for the kiddos to choose from. Most places give you French fries or some other greasy choice. Not here!
Cole slaw comes also with most meals if not all.
If you sign up online you get a free appetizer coupon, woohoo!
Also plenty TV to keep kids entertained.
Staff was very friendly.
Only down part was that we only had 1 hour for lunch and it seemed like it took long to get our food.
When we went for dinner it didn't take all that long. Maybe just cause we weren't in a rush, it seemed different, not sure.
I always head to the 99 when I don't feel like driving far away from home. Â The food is always decent however my biggest issue is that the bar service IS ALWAYS HORRIBLE. Â Takes forever to get service....don't refill drinks timely. Â And I am not an unreasonable person, however when there are 3 bartenders and only 10-12 people at a bar, there is no reason why any drink should be empty. Â I also contend when you walk down the stairs that it smells like a nursing home. Â That could be the disenfecant that they use....however that is what it reminds me of.
Review Source:Like Chris said, this 99 is not much different than other 99 restaurants in the area. Â Good food, good service, good for families, and reasonable prices. I've never waited more than a few minutes to be seated. Trivia night is always fun as well. The only thing that I don't like is that you lose all cell phone service inside due to the basement location.
Review Source:The Ninety Nine is a nice and cozy place. Located just under the hotel, it offers a comfortable area for eating and talking with friends or family. The food is good and the portions are good sized. Our order was taken promptly and our food arrived as ordered and quickly. I'd have gone 5 stars except for the fact that our server didn't pay attention to our drinks and we had to ask for refills.
Review Source:Same food and drinks as every other 99.
The things that are different about this one is the total lack of natural light since its in the basement of the hotel. Not that you really notice once you're inside anyways. The bar area is huge and has plenty of places to sit and I like the design which is wavy. This creates little mini sections on the bar of 2 or 3 stools which offers a little more privacy than you usually get at a bar if you're there with a couple people. The main restaurant section is all booths which are very large so there is plenty of room.
I'm very new to the Ninety-Nine, as we do not have them in the South. Â I find that when I just want to go to a chain restaurant where I can get a nice, comfortable meal, I choose 99. Â This location is not gigantic, but I have never had a wait (even on a Friday night). Â Their menu actually makes me stop for a minute and consider, "what exactly do I want?" because there are so many choices for my particular tastes. Â I find that going to a place like Applebee's or Chili's, I'm going to order one thing, the thing that I always get. Â
They have really great tasting desserts, which is always important. Â Their margaritas were very good... and they have many different types of iced tea to compliment your meal. Â I've had seafood there twice and have not been disappointed. Â Their cole slaw is great... and they have sweet potato fries with cinnamon-sugar on them! Â Yum!
It isn't super cheap, but it isn't expensive either. Â You can really go all out, appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert and really not spend that much. Â You can't do it often and it still be cheap, but it's a nice treat. Â
They have wedge salads, which are a favorite of mine... they serve the traditional one with bacon, tomato and bleu cheese crumbles/bleu cheese dressing for $3.99 as a side salad... but with an appetizer to share, this salad is more than enough for a meal. Â I couldn't finish it! Â Looking forward to future visits to see what else they have on the menu that I haven't tried... very intrigued last time by the Portobella sandwich with asparagus and artichokes... mmmm...
