I come here on a regular basis to play in tournaments or occasionally for practice.

When I come with family and/or friends, the service is usually great.  Once in a while they will take too long for the food or drinks, or the server will be having a bad day or something, but more often than not the servers are very attentive and friendly.  The food itself is usually VERY good for the money.  They have a nice full menu, and I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich on a pretzel bun.

The tables themselves are good for casual players or people out for a night of fun.  For a serious pool player they aren't very good.  Out of every table in the building, only one or two will rack tight.  They use the "RackTight" racking system on a lot of the 9 footers (which are Gandy's) and almost every single one wasn't installed properly, like they didn't understand the concept that the dots need to make the balls lean into each other.  The table quality is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

I've been coming here since 2004, and I can honestly say I haven't had a single visit that I didn't enjoy myself.  Once or twice the server was bad, but the atmosphere, food quality, and the fact that I was playing pool made up for it.  I highly recommend Obelisk for anybody looking for a regular place to hang out and shoot pool.

Went here with my brother and his friend. I'm deaf so I can't really rate with the conversational and behavior aspect in mind. So based only on practical services, this place only have 2 stars because the waitress liked to take her time just chatting. And the woman that seemed to be her boss (?) Was extremely neglectful. I needed to use the toilet in the mens restroom and BOTH toilet was backed up the entire night despite MULTIPLE request to have it cleared (their plunger was a filed piece of cracked rubber).

I do have to admit, their chili fries was delicious! And the drinks was good :-)

What the hell happened to this place?!  First of all, the collared shirt rule out the door?!  This place is going down hill, the service reflects as well.  

Before I begin my rant, I would like to point out that my brother, sister and I are currently or have been in the service industry, know what good service is and tip very well.

Our waitress, if that's what you want to call her, was inattentive and couldn't give two s#!ts if we had a steady flow of alcoholic beverages.  She would rather sit at the bar and talk to her friends!  Yes, while waiting about 10 minutes to give her our third drink order, I finally walked over to the bar and saw her chatting with some friends.  I politely asked if she was still working, to which she replied with a "no shit, stupid!" look on her face, "yeah".  I ordered and told her thank you.  When the drinks arrived, in  order to refrain from pestering her with our petty and paltry requests,which would probably go unanswered anyway, my brother immediately asked if we could get another round, to which she replied "I suppose". WTF???!!!!!!  While waiting for our fourth round to arrive I noticed her sitting at one of the pool tables kissing what I believe to be her boyfriend! That was it, we decided then and there to finish the drinks and get the hell out of that place.

As we were about to leave, she came our way! Is she really going to check on us? NOPE, she came to tell everyone that it was the last call for food.  My sister confronted her, and all she could do to justify her actions was to say that she was busy. My siblings and I know that if you are truly busy, there is no time to sit and chat and kiss.But maybe we're old fashioned.  No apology, nothing. She did however clear our glasses with the fervor and passion of a pissed off emo kid with a severe problem with authority. We will NOT be coming back here.

However,  we ended up having a good night.  We left and spent an additional $150 at another bar, and had a great time.
