I've seen some great bands in here over the years. Â I made an appearance while I was home for the Christmas holidays and had a good time drinking beers and doing shots of Jager with some friends. Â Always a great crowd. Â
Yes, there is a bit of a smell in here - like hanging out in your buddy's basement as a kid listening to Eddie Murphy's DELERIOUS on your Fisher-Price record player.
Great hidden gem!! Excellent food!! great friendly and attentive service. This is a family run place and you can tell they take pride in what they do. The owner's sister does all the cooking and and it's very homestyle.  The place is basically a dive bar that features bands on the weekends, but the true jewel  is the great food! Their steaktips, seafood prepared dishes and buffalo wings are to die for!
Review Source:If you haven't been to this bar in a while, trust me go back and check it out.
The rumor i heard was that one day the cook quit and the owner's aunt came in and started cooking and never looked back. Not sure how true that is but I can tell you the last 3-4 times i was there it was outstanding. Â The Smoked Pork Shoulder Sandwich is awesome and for all you Irishmen/women, you don't usually see that on the menu. Â The Calamari and Mozzarella bites were homemade and outstanding. Â The BLT was on thick cut bread and had lots of bacon and fresh veggies. Â The wings are awesome, oh and the sandwiches are 5-7 bucks, So Cool! Â
They are still your Irish Pub though, with Keno, The Boxing game, Townies, Bikers, large shots, and Guinness......
My new renewed favorite local bar... 4.5 miles from home.
I wish I could give this place a big fat zero or negative stars. Horrible experience. Horrible Staff. Horrible Drinks. Can we say ghetto? The bar tender was mixing drinks with plastic cups. Are you serious? My friend ordered a Red bull and Grey Goose and it tasted like watered down ginger ale. Â The place is a poor attempt of turning a pub into a night club. And there was a $5 cover charge. Like WTF? The DJ sucked. The Staff sucked. The Bartender sucked. And they drunken people there also were annoying as hell. And the staff bitched at me because I had my Canon Digital Rebel XTI while other people with small ass cameras were free to shoot. They probably didn't want me to catch any photos of minors drinking. This place sucks and I will never go back. Don't waste your time with this place.
Review Source:Now known as O'Brien's Pub, this spot is located on the Lynn/Saugus town line. A local Irish Bar that at night hosts live bands and is a hot spot to hang out among the locals.
During the lunch and dinner hours you will find a hidden gem here. The sandwiches and entrees are large in size and relatively cheap in price. Expect to pay between $6-15 on food. For about $6-9 you can get a hot pastrami, roast beef, oven roasted turkey, grilled chicken sandwich, burger or more. The give you so much that your eyes don't need to be bigger than your stomach when you look over the menu. You will be stuffed and more than satisfied.
The caesar or garden salads can be topped with mouth watering steak tips or grilled chicken. Another satisfying meal option that you can select without hesitation.
Staff is limited and busy so take that into consideration when selecting a table hidden in the back. But enjoy the rear view of the river flowing by.
O'Briens is a fantastic spot for the young and old and the ownership and staff are friendly and give back to the community through charities and sponsoring of local town sports teams.
