Old old old style.. salad was brown, lobster over cooked, tastless fish. Oyster and bread were good. It's old and they havnt evolved with the times. Some people like that, but for me... I wouldn't go back.

After living here in Wilton Manors for six months, we finally popped into Old Florida Seafood House to check it out.  (To be honest, a month or so ago, we thought about popping in for dinner, checked out their menu at the front door, and decided we didn't feel like spending an arm-and-leg for dinner that evening, and left.  This time out, we decided to go for the splurge...)  Prices here are not cheap:  Fish entrees are all in the mid-$20's and can go well-over $30.  (For example, Orange Roughy was $23.95; Chilean seabass is a smidge under $30; stuffed lobster is about $38.  That said, let's face it:  seafood is expensive these days!)  Anyway, the evening meal started great with a friendly greeting at the front door, and a super waitress (Stacy)!  She hauled over to our table a huge dry-ink board with all of the evening specials and what-have-yous.  (If you go early-bird, you get a dollar or two off most of the specials.)  Being that fried calamari ($7.95) was on the menu (natch!), I had to start there.  For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Diane ($23.95); my buddy ordered the stuffed lobster.  The meal started with a basket of fresh, soft bread roll slices (dark and white).  Fried calamari (with side of marinara sauce and lemon slices) arrived looking nothing special.  Nevertheless, what it lacked in initial presence, it made up for in taste!  Perfectly fried in a fairly light batter, and not at all chewy or overcooked.  (Fried calamari is always my litmus test for restaurants that serve it.  This one passed the test.)  Even though the entree prices appear to be on the high side, at first glance, they do come with a soup or side salad, and your choice of a variety of different vegetables and/or double-stuffed baked potato (depending upon your particular entree order).  Second course, my salad arrived.  It was HUGE for a side salad!  Everything was fresh and crunched where it was supposed to crunch, and juiced where it was supposed to be juicy.  (The side salad was almost a small meal in itself.)  Main course arrived.  (I'll let Jay do his own review on his stuffed lobster.  That said, it was stuffed with three huge shrimp and a couple of large scallops, and looked exceedingly tasty!)  My shrimp Diane entree was served on a bed of "dirty" rice (Cajun-style) and a side of steamed broccoli crowns.  The dish was huge!  There were no less than ten jumbo-sized, butterflied shrimps (all perfectly cooked), all tossed into a wonderful tasting concoction that I chowed-down with gusto!  (The flavors were fantastic!  If I had any criticism whatsoever, it would be that there were just a bit too many sauteed onions for my palate.  Nonetheless, it didn't stop me from stuffing my face with the wealth of savory flavors!)  I can't reiterate enough that this entree was humongous!  I was only able to finish half of my meal and had five shrimps (along with rice and broccoli) for lunch the next day.  Yes, that $23.95 was well-worth every penny...!!!  Again, too, the entire evening meal was made especially memorable with our fantastic waitress, and overall old-school customer service courtesy!  And, no, the median age in this place wasn't "70" as some other malcontent customer stated.  And, too, no, neither of us experienced "food poisoning" or any other digestive problems afterwards.  If there were any problems, it was simply that we were both gluttonously stuffed....  Much like the lobster...!!!  Definitely will return for a second helping...!  :D

Nasty Nasty Food Poisoning Dump of a place!!!

It may have been great 25 years ago But Now its a DUMP   Everyone in our party got sick from FOOD poisoning!!!

So far two people ended up at Holy Cross Hospital and they were well aware of Old Florida seafood House.. the Doctors and nurses there said IT HAS happened before!!

After speaking with the owner and asking simply for a refund (BOB) he was like I have to call my insurance company.. They will call you.. Yeah he really cares about his business... Anyways avoid this place and if you don't you'll be VERY sorry.

Now we have to call our attorney and pursue that way..

4 hours in the ER 400 dollars in anti nausea meds IV Fluids and missed work .. Not worth it at all

all they had to do WAS cook the darn Crabmeat to avoid this.. It will be shut down soon anyways.
