Used to dine here regularly between 2007 and 2010, but service and food have declined and don't get better when giving them another go. Tried again in April 2013 - dirty, smelly, slow service, and yucky food. All 3 of us left most of our selections. Daughter got sick within 45 minutes of eating there. Really sad - improve or go out of business unless sustained by hotel occupants with no other choice  or transportation

Horrible service. Sat at a table and took forever for our food, water refills never came and we didn't even see any servers around. Got dessert and we even waited 15 mins for that! Did i mention that it wasn't even busy...smh.
    Don't go

I ordered this food as room service during my stay in sterling.
There was no dressing in the Caesar salad.
I ordered a personal pizza which ended up being a Pizza Hut pizza which I paid $7.99 for.
Next time I'm just going to get delivery.

Hotel restaurant, like every single hotel restaurant since the beginning of time. Mediocre burger, high prices. Would avoid unless you have absolutely no other choice.

Fun and entertaining for happy hour w/ a two person band.

I loved this place.  The burger and wedge cut fries were delicious and the beer glasses have quirky sayings on them.  There's a TV in every booth and it's not too noisy or too crowded. I requested a special dish for my son who tends to be a picky eater and they had no problem whipping it up.  I wish we had one of these closer to home!

Not a bad place to stop for a drink. Drinks are normal price for the area and staff is friendly.

I walked right past a hostess and an employee and was not greeted so I sat at the bar.

The bartender was frienly courteous and quick to take my order and serve.

The restaurant has gone trough remodeling since its last review. There is no carpet, now there is new tile and relatively nice, modern decor.

The place does not smell like chlorine or smoke anymore as some of the other reviews state.

I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca which is grilled chicken with ham and light cheese rolled in a marsala sauce. This dish came w salad and I am no salad snob but I think it was just ok not memorable. To me a salad needs a variety of vegetables. This was a few carrots two slices of cucumber and and onions on a bed of lettuce.

The entre came and it was quick and well presented.

This is normally not a dish I order or a type of restaurant I frequent so it is difficult for me to judge the authenticity of the flavors and the preparation of the dish. So I have to compare to what I know about food in general and the jury is still out but pressed, I would judge the dish I had as average. I would not crave such a dish and go looking for it but it was interesting to try.

The manager came by and checked to make sure everything was to my liking.

This scores BIG points with me.

Also the table was cleared shortly after I was done and that is another plus.

The locations of the TV's is strategic and the decor appropriate. However, the music is a bit odd as it is not in line with an irish atmosphere. It went from pop to dance club hits. If you know me you know I like dance club hits but this hardly seemed like the right station to play to create a complimenting atmosphere to the theme.

I would recommend this place to others and I would also urge those who have written bad reviews to come back and see what has changed.

In my opinion this is an establishment that has paid attention to its guests comments and has adjusted accordingly. For this reason I am giving this place 4 stars.

I hope you enjoy your Sam Adams Lager as much as I did.

I was starving since I barely ate anything. I didn't know Virgin didn't feed us on the 5 hour ride to dc. Anyways this was the closest restaurant I could find in walking distance. This was a new experience for me because I have never eaten at a restuarant by myself before. I decided to try it out on my first business trip alone. The waiter recommended the reuben with chips. It was so delicious! I dunno if it was b/c i was hella hungry or b/c it was real good. I got a lemonade which was a tad watered down. My waiter Sean (his name was on my receipt) was really attentive. I was impressed by the service and decided to take the time to fill out one of those comment cards. Overall I had a good experience dining alone. I was able to review and analyze a couple of brochures about tours. It was a very productive dinner indeed.

OK, so walking into this place might not be like stepping into an authentic Irish pub (here's a hint, our waitress' name was Enetasha), but the service was quick and the food tasty and worth what it cost.

I got the Fish and Chips for $10.50 and it was probably the biggest single piece of fish that I have received in my fish-fry going life growing up in Wisconsin and seeking out fish fries in Illinois.  Not only was it ~14" long (hold your "that's what she said" jokes pervs) but it tasted damn good (reminder #2 about the no "thats what she said").  I loved the tarter sauce which appeared to original to the Pub.

My co-worker Ray G saw the description for the 1 lb burger (~$12)read "we dare you" as its closing line and took it personally.  He dominted the sandwhich and even asked for a free t-shirt since he took the dare and won (he did not get a t-shirt).

It was during happy hour so it was somewhat busy but the lemon-aides kept coming.  Reasonably priced dinner and close to the hotel might actually lead me back here some day.

I feel sorry for Mitch R - to have this be the only convenient place to eat sounds like the setup for a Twilight Zone episode.  (Burgess Meredith would be the sloppy, lazy-ass bartender, and the frustrated patron would maybe be a young William Shatner.)

Sadly, it's not on black & white TV, it's REAL.  Yes, the "English optional" bartender is real, and so's his inability to understand that you DON'T WANT another warmish, flattish Bass, you REALLY WANT A GLASS OF WATER.  So is the hokey, poorly-cleaned "Irish" paraphernalia screwed to the walls. So's the throbbing, techno dancefloor music (and no, it's not Irish - it's not even U2 in their "Zooropa" phase).

I have only gone here when I stay in the attached Holiday Inn (usually so I can be as close to my early-morning flight as possible).  I honestly CANNOT understand going here for any other reason - in fact, next time I stay at the HI, I might walk across to the gas station for a 40 and a bag of pork rinds rather than give this O'Malleys my business.

    No, absolutely not.

I can say that I have probably spent more time at this place than anyone on Yelp, so trust me when I say it is AWFUL.  This is not a place that I am proud to say that I go to,  I would give it two stars just for nostalgia's sake but it is that bad.

I can see O'Malley's from my window at work and given its close proximity to my office many co-workers made this our destination for lunch and happy hours.  We have tried other places which are much better, but this one is just very convenient and honestly less than two minutes away.

To start things off, this past April they banned people from smoking indoors which is great because this place was like sitting in a smoker.  You would immediately have to strip when you got home and wash your clothes.  Now, eight months later it still smells bad in there.  It is a combination of stale beer, stale smoke, old food, and chlorine from the pool which is right next door.

The drinks are not good and they are incredibly overpriced.  They don't really have a true happy hour special, so if you go be prepared to spend an outrageous amount of money on bad drinks.  A 22 ounce Old Dominion is $7.50 and their cheap rail drinks are still $5+.  Last night when I was there my co-worker was drinking 12 ounce long necks of Bud Light, only after he had three did our clueless waiter tell us that they had a special on 22 ounce bottles for $3.  The 12 ounce bottle was $3.75, why did he not tell us that immediately?

The food there is terrible and they don't have an excuse for bad food, since they prepare the bar food in the same kitchen as the restaurant that is adjacent to the bar.  They have some of the worst chicken wings I have ever had, how do you screw up chicken wings???  The burgers are never cooked to order, always overdone.  The only thing there that is decent is the chicken tenders, which honestly is impossible to cook incorrectly.

The atmosphere isn't that great at all.  The carpet is dingy and dirty, the tables are worn, and most of the chairs are broken at the high top tables.  Late at night they sometimes have live music or poker night which is actually pretty nice.  Also, they have an area where you can sit outside in warmer weather which is great but the speakers that are out there are no longer functioning and look like they haven't for 10+ years.

The worst part of the overall experience is the service.  If you sit at a table away from the bar, forget about having someone check on you to see if you need anything.  The wait staff doesn't listen to your order and most of the time they are trying to walk way while you are ordering.  If you finally do manage to get someone's attention they will take your order but ignore the rest of the table, which then follows with someone actually yelling to get the persons attention as they run away.

You want a better cell phone waiting area?  Buy a sixer of your favorite beer, a big bite and consume in your car.  It will be cheaper, more comfortable, taste better,  and you will be closer to the airport without having to deal with the incompetent people who work at O'Malley's.  They really could do so much to make it a better place to spend time at...

Liked the fries and hated the smokey bar.  The bartender was super nice but told us there are better bars in the area with cheaper beer.  Happy hour is worth it though and if you get too schnackered, there's a hotel attached!  They host poker nights and there are big TVs in every direction.  As Takaki mentioned, it's a good "Cell-phone waiting area" for Dulles just down the street.

For a hotel bar it's pretty decent.  Lot of big screens for sport events.  $3 pint happy hour before 7pm.  Good fries.  A short drive from Dulles, so it's a good place to grab a drink, waiting for someone to arrive.
