Omega Restaurant

The wife and I came here the other day after a friend mentioned Omega, we,ve last came about 15-20 yrs ago. I ordered lamb chops and loved that 4 generous chops were served for what, $15-17 ? Can't beat that. The wife had chicken piccata and that was also good. Great bread basket and good cold salad. I had soup when I saw clam chowder but when it came I saw was thick enough to wallpaper my house and the taste, well, what it really was, cream of potato and when an order for clam or chick comes in they dump some clams or chick in. I understand that. It's a huge menu.
I cannot complain about the price $34 for two w coffee. The next time I had beef brisket w kiska again a winner. Then was $31 for two w tax ! good old fashion restaurant.

Stopped here to grab lunch at about 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon after a bunch of sales calls. (Today). Waitress came to my table ready to take my order but began making small talk with someone else for several minutes as she stood in front of me. Irritating but I dealt w it. She took my order. 10 minutes later no drink. Guess it was coming with my food, although she didn't ask and I assumed I'd get it promptly as I was famished and wanted something with more substance than water. After eating one of the complimentary rolls, I opened my napkin to find a long hair inside of my napkin. That was enough for me to not wait around for my milk or my skillet. Yuck. Told the guy in a shirt and tie at the front door but he did not seem very concerned, and wished me well with no attempt to salvage my business. I won't be visiting this or any other omega restaurants ever again.

This is the kind of place you go to when 1) all other restaurants are closed because it's late 2) you've been drinking 3) you're cheap and want foods that will fill your tummy 4) you're hanging out with friends and don't want the night to end.  Overall the food is mediocre diner type food but you can't expect much more than that.  The things I've tried here were potato skins, soup, and an omelet.  Everything is decent but service is a hit or miss.
