Pricey, slow and not very good. Â Food was bland, especially the massive taco. Â Flies swooping around our food through the meal. Â I had to ask for kids' menus (even though I walked in with three kids). I thanked the waitress when I left (after SHE asked me if I wanted to add a tip to my bill) and she said absolutely nothing. Â Didn't even look at me. Â Will not return.
Review Source:Passing through Lusk, we happened upon this place. Good call! Riding through the area on a warm day and we were ready for a break. Lusk seems to be slim pickings for restaurants but this place caught our eye. Â It is a solid classic American diner and an excellent lunch stop that is pretty much a local place - I don't think Lusk, Wyoming gets too many tourists. Standard diner fare done well as you see in many small towns yet to be taken over by fast food giants.
Review Source:There are 1,567 people living in Lusk, and in early July there's a hot dry wind sweeping through and not a lot of places to stop for a cold drink and hot food. Â Inside the Outpost you'll find a few travelers like me, checking for wifi and Yelp reviews, but mostly it holds local folks. Â On the 5th of July @ lunchtime, a few men wearing cowboy hats (because they ARE cowboys, not as a fashion statement) sit at the counter, while families share other tables, and the talk and feel of the place is casual and friendly. Â Some books at the table help pass the time, and the burger that arrives is hand formed and cooked just about right. Â The lemonade - pink - wasn't a winner, with an offputting chemical flavor. Â
The bathrooms are clean, and the busy waitress is friendly. Â The young guy who took our $ was probably one of the owner's kids - and it was refreshing seeing a youngster who was that responsible and polite!
