I am usually a fan of dive bars and I've been making it my life's mission to uncover the best of them. Â We walked in about 6:30 one night figuring we would have a couple of drinks at the bar, have some food and watch some sports. Â There was not a soul in the place except the bartender and he didn't look too happy to see us. Â The bartender told us unless you have cash, I can't help you. Â We thanked him anyway and quickly high tailed it out of there.
Review Source:My favorite place now in Beverly for casual dining. Â The food is plentiful, attractively priced, and damn good. Surprisingly varied menu. The ambiance isn't overly sophisticated but is quite acceptable.
This place usually is not overcrowded: on some nights, though, there is live entertainment, so if you don't easily handle noise/increased din, get out by 9:00pm.
Full bar and full wait staff service. Â Turnaround time for food orders is not too long. Â Way above-average pub experience. Â Great value, friendly staff.
i liked it in here. the budweiser cost two or three different prices the night i went in, depending on which bartender was doing the uncapping. weird. i'll check it out again. i don't have too much else to say other than the fact that budweiser is gross, but people were buying it for me.
Review Source:When one of our friends started hanging out at this place- we were kinda confused. Â Isn't that the old Mai Tai Cafe? Â And even before that- a very similar hoodlum infused junky hang out? He insisted it was different now - way better and we should check it out and give it a chance. The owner would really have had to do something huge with this place to rid the reputation it has built up over the past 5+ years.
And I believe he has. Â The atmosphere is great- especially to watch a game. They have flat screens all over the main bar area and hopefully for once and for all- they have shed the dirtbag hang out crew. Â The service is phenomenol -the bartender Glen is a highlight here. The owner has been there both times I have gone. He seems like a regular guy and has come over to see how everything was going and make a little small talk.
Their food is also really, really good. Â The first time I went I had the Tuscan Grill Wrap (All Veggies) and the sweet potato fries and they were both delicious and great portion sizes. Â The second time I was there I had the Quarter roasted chicken with garlicy carrots and summer squash. Â SO GOOD! Along with great entrees, they also have the typical bar food and specials. Also can't beat $2.50 Coors Light Draft!
This place has an uphill battle to distance itself from what is has always been, but it is definitely on it's way up. Â It is definitely going to become one of our regular "beer and the game" places. We're rooting for Overtime!
This place just opened up about a month ago. We work in the area so we figured we would check it out. At about 12:15 on a Thursday, it was dead when we walked in, but were promptly greeted by the friendly bartender. We sat wherever we wanted  and the atmosphere was typical pub-wood floors some high top tables, some booths, etc.
Menu is great--some vegetarian options, which I loved, and my friends were overwhelmed with choices!
Great service from the bartender and the owner came over, introduced himself, asked how we heard about it, etc. and was super nice.
Once the food came out we were all impressed! I got the Tuscan Grill wrap, with all very fresh veggies and  huge portabella AND...sweet potato fries that were PERFECT and not greasy!
Overall, Â highly recommended, we will be going there for lunch as much as possible. Not expensive either, very reasonable for our huge portions!
ALSO-they deliver, free of charge & no minimum!
